万双网讯  2026年6月29日，万科双语学校举行2025-2026学年第二学期第18周升旗仪式。本周升旗仪式由乐观向上，充满活力的6F班负责。李镓屹（Daniel）和张家瑞（Leo）担任主持人，侯心聆（Alisa）、张鼎铉（Ethan）和刘思靖（Anna）担任升旗手。护旗任务由6F班全体同学组成，以尊重为立身之基，以友善为处世之道，以成长为共进之向是6F班的目标，他们共同完成了庄严的升旗环节。

On June 29th, 2026, the flag-raising ceremony for the 18th week of the second semester of the 2025-2026 academic year was held on the playground of Vanke Bilingual School. This ceremony was hosted by Class 6F. Li Jiayi (Daniel) and Zhang Zairui (Leo) served as the hosts, Hou Xinling (Alisa), Zhang Dingxuan (Ethan), and Liu Sijing (Anna) served as the flag-raisers. The color guard duty was carried out by all the students of Class 6F. For their class, respect is the foundation of their character, kindness is the key to harmonious relationships, and growing together happily is their shared goal.

在国旗下讲话环节，潘昊扬（Oliver）和杨妍浠（Angela）两位同学为全校师生带来了一场深情而激昂的主题演讲。时值中国共产党成立105周年，两位同学从百年党史的壮阔历程切入，回望战火年代革命先烈的无畏奉献，致敬和平时期平凡岗位上的默默坚守，也讲述了小英雄雨来、王二小等少年榜样以及当代年轻航天人、科研工作者、支教教师用奋斗书写担当的动人故事。

During the speech segment under the national flag, Pan Haoyang (Oliver) and Yang Yanxi (Angela) delivered a heartfelt and impassioned speech to all teachers and students. Marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the two speakers traced the magnificent journey of the Party's century-long history—looking back on the fearless sacrifices of revolutionary martyrs in times of war, paying tribute to the quiet dedication of ordinary workers in peacetime, and sharing the inspiring stories of young heroes like Yu Lai and Wang Erxiao, as well as contemporary young aerospace engineers, scientific researchers, and volunteer teachers in remote villages, who have shown commitment through their perseverance and hard work.

他们的演讲以“少年有志，未来可期”为落脚点，号召全体同学将红色精神根植于心、勇担家国责任，在好好学习、锻炼品格、放眼世界中成长为堪当民族复兴大任的时代新人。

Their speech concluded with the rallying call: "When young people have dreams, the future is full of hope." They called on all students to take the red spirit to heart, bravely shoulder their responsibilities of family and country, and grow through dedicated study, character building, and with a global outlook—so that they may one day become the new generation capable of carrying forward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Next, Teacher Hu Yaqiong delivered a current affairs presentation, leading all teachers and students to take a look at two exciting developments that took place across our country over the past week. On June 27th, China's "artificial sun" project achieved a key breakthrough, as two core superconducting magnets for the nuclear fusion reactor passed development and testing, making the core technologies now 100% domestically produced—behind this achievement lies six years of intensive project work by scientists and nearly forty years of cumulative technological development. On June 26th, the first unit of the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station on the Dadu River in Sichuan was officially connected to the grid; this 315-meter-high dam, the tallest in the world, embodies the unwavering dedication of construction workers who toiled deep in the mountains for eleven full years.

From the laboratory's "artificial sun" to the canyon's "world's tallest dam," Teacher Hu distilled a single key message from these two news stories—the passing of the torch from generation to generation. She called on all VBS students: as builders and successors of socialism, we must align our personal aspirations with the needs of our motherland through ambition, solidify our foundational skills through diligent study, temper our will through strength of character, and fulfill our responsibilities by starting with the small things around us in order to practice accountability through every detail. Every effort will shine and every generation can do better than the last—and a better China lies hidden in the quiet dedication starting from each of us today.

The flag-raising ceremony came to a close in a solemn and warm atmosphere. Facing the morning wind and looking up at the flying Five-star Red Flag, our hearts are filled with excitement. On the year 2026, the Communist Party of China has been founded for 105 years. Looking back at the past 100 years of hard times, generations of Party members have used their blood, perseverance and responsibility to hold up the sky of our nation.

从战火中无畏献身的革命先烈，到平凡岗位上默默奉献的建设者，再到今天守护我们安宁生活的普通人——他们的事迹，早已化为不灭的红色光芒，照亮我们前行的道路。

In Party history, we also see young faces. The little heroes Yulai and Wang Erxiao were almost the same age as us, but they already took on the big job of protecting our home and country. Today, I want to share with you two exciting developments that have taken place across our country over the past week.

先说说第一件。是关于一个“太阳”——不过这个太阳不在天上，而是在科学家的实验室里。6月27日，中国科学院传来消息：我国“人造太阳”项目取得了关键突破——两套核聚变堆核心超导磁体完成研制验收，核心技术实现100%国产化。“人造太阳”的原理和天上的太阳一样，靠核聚变产生能量。如果人类掌握了这项技术，就相当于拥有了取之不尽的清洁能源。

Let me start with the first one. It's about a "sun"—but this sun is not up in the sky; it lives in scientists' laboratories. On June 27th, news came from the Chinese Academy of Sciences: China's "artificial sun" project has achieved a key breakthrough—two core superconducting magnets for the nuclear fusion reactor have completed development and have passed testing, with these core technologies now being 100% domestically produced. The "artificial sun" works on the same principle as the real sun—producing energy through nuclear fusion. If humanity ever masters this technology, it would be like having access to an inexhaustible source of clean energy.

从项目启动到验收，科学家们用了整整六年时间。而这六年背后，是老一辈科学家到今天的科研骨干，一代人传一代人，将近四十年的技术积累，才有了今天站上世界最前沿的底气和实力。

From project launch up till now, scientists have devoted six full years to this endeavor. And behind these six years lies nearly four decades of technological accumulation, passed down from one generation of scientists to the next—from the older generation of researchers to today's leading experts. It is this legacy that has given us the confidence and strength to stand at the global forefront of this field.

再来说说第二件。 就在6月26日，在四川省阿坝藏族羌族自治州的大渡河上，拥有 “世界第一高坝” 的双江口水电站首台机组正式并网发电。这座大坝高315米，相当于一百多层楼，是目前全世界最高的坝。为了修建它，建设者们在大山深处奋战了整整十一年。随着全容量投运后，每年可节约燃煤1700万吨，减排二氧化碳4600万吨。十多年的坚守，换来了今天这项刷新世界纪录的“大国工程”。

Now for the second story. On June 26th, the first unit of the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station—home to the "world's tallest dam"—was officially connected to the grid on the Dadu River in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province. Standing at 315 meters, equivalent to a building over a hundred stories high, this is now the tallest dam in the world. To build it, workers toiled deep in the mountains for eleven full years. Once fully operational, it will save 17 million tons of coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 46 million tons annually. More than a decade of perseverance has given us this world-record-breaking "megaproject" of our nation.

我们这一代人真的很幸运——我们不用像先辈那样在匮乏中挣扎，但我们依然能看到，身边有那么多人在为一件“大事”拼尽全力。那些人可能从来不会把“爱国”两个字挂在嘴边，可他们用一生的时间，把“中国制造”变成了“中国创造”，把“卡脖子”变成了“杀手锏”。

Our generation is truly fortunate—we don't have to struggle with scarcity the way our predecessors did. Yet we can still see so many people around us giving their all for something greater than themselves. These people may never speak the words "love of country" aloud, but they have spent their entire lives turning "Made in China" into "Created in China," and transforming technological bottlenecks into our own trump cards.

而所有这些成就的取得，还有一个关键词，叫“薪火相传”。同学们，薪火相传，传的从来不只是技术和工程。它传的是一种信念——相信每一份努力都会在某个时刻发光，相信每一代人都能比上一代做得更好。

Behind all of these achievements lies another key principle—the passing of the torch from generation to generation. Students, what is passed down is never just technological or engineering concepts. It is a belief—the belief that every effort will shine at some moment, and that every generation can do better than the one before.

十年、二十年之后，当你们中的一些人走进实验室、站上工程一线，再回头看今天的这两个故事，会发现它们不仅仅是新闻里的几行字，而是一种无声的召唤。万双学子们，作为社会主义建设者和接班人，我们该如何接好这一棒？

Ten or twenty years from now, when some of you step into laboratories or engineering sites and look back on these two stories, you will find that they are more than just lines from the news—they are a quiet calling. As builders and successors of our nation's socialist cause, how should we VBS students take up this baton?

一在志气。把个人的理想同祖国的需要紧密相连。二在勤学。今天课堂上学的每一个知识点、攻克的每一道难题，都是在为将来打下坚实的基础。三在品格。我们要在学习中培养吃苦耐劳、坚韧不拔的意志品质，遇到困难不退缩，面对挫折不放弃，做一个有恒心、有毅力的人。四在担当。从小事做起，从身边做起，关心集体，乐于助人，积极参加社会实践和志愿服务。未来，那个更好的中国，就藏在今天我们每个人的默默耕耘里。

First, be ambitious—align our personal aspirations with the needs of our country. Second, be diligent—every bit of knowledge we gain and every challenge we conquer in class today builds a solid foundation for tomorrow. Third, have character—we must cultivate perseverance and resilience in our studies, never retreating from difficulties or giving up in the face of setbacks, and become people of determination and persistence. Fourth, form a sense of responsibility—start with the small things, from what is right in front of us: care for our community, be ready to help others, and actively participate in social practice and volunteer service. The better China of the future lies hidden in the quiet dedication from each one of us today.
