万双网讯  2026年5月6日，万科双语学校举行2025-2026学年第二学期第10周升旗仪式。本周升旗仪式由7G班负责，梁佳睿（Anna）和时良玉（Jerry）担任主持人，护旗任务由朝气蓬勃、乐观积极的7G班全体同学组成。团结坚毅、包容进取是7G班的目标，他们共同完成了庄严的升旗环节。

On May 6th, 2026, the flag-raising ceremony for the tenth week of the second semester of the 2025-2026 academic year was held on the playground of Vanke Bilingual School. This ceremony was hosted by Class 7G, who are full of vitality and optimism. Students Liang Jiarui (Anna) and Shi Liangyu (Jerry) served as the hosts. The goals of Class 7G are unity, perseverance, inclusiveness, and having a progressive spirit. All of the other students in Class 7G formed a flag color guard, and they carried out the solemn flag-raising ceremony in unison.

在国旗下讲话环节，陈昕妤（Joy）、王语诺（Arina）、熊梦凡（Albert）和王一凡（Kitty）四位同学带来了题为“激扬青春志，奋斗正当时”的演讲。他们从百年前五四青年的热血呐喊讲起，回顾了青年毛泽东在煤油灯下立志“改造中国与世界”的坚定信念，以及年仅26岁的钱学森冲破重重阻挠、在戈壁滩上用算盘撑起国防脊梁的感人事迹。

During the speech segment under the national flag, Chen Xinyu (Joy), Wang Yunuo (Arina), Xiong Mengfan (Albert) and Wang Yifan (Kitty) delivered a speech titled “Ignite Youth and Embrace the Moment to Strive.” Starting with highlighting the passionate calls of young people a century ago during the May Fourth Movement, they reviewed the firm convictions of a young Mao Zedong, who resolved to "transform China and the world" under the light of a kerosene lamp, as well as the touching story of Qian Xuesen. At only 26, Qian broke through numerous obstacles and supported China’s national defense with an abacus in the Gobi Desert.

四位同学用真挚的语言指出，五四精神的火焰如今已传递到新时代青年手中——它不再是硝烟中的呐喊，而是课堂上的专注、运动场上的坚持和面对挑战时的自信。他们呼吁全体同学以五四精神为指引，锤炼健康体魄、涵养健全人格、提升卓越学力，把个人小目标融入国家大梦想，用成长型思维模式破茧成蝶。演讲最后，四位同学以“青年者，人生之王，人生之春，人生之华也”激励大家：奋斗正当时，青春不等待，让拼搏成为青春最响亮的宣言，让奋斗成为生命最耀眼的勋章。

With sincere words, the four students pointed out that the flame of the May Fourth Spirit has now been passed on to the youth of the new era. It is no longer shouting through the smoke and gunfire in war, but through focus in class, perseverance on the sports field, and confidence in facing challenges. They called on all students to be guided by the May Fourth Spirit by building physical strength, cultivating sound personality, improving academic excellence, integrating personal goals with the national dream, and breaking through and transforming themselves with a growth mindset. At the end of the speech, the four students inspired everyone with the quote: “Youth is the king of life, the spring of life, the blossoming of life.” Strive while the time is right; youth waits for no one. Let your struggle be the loudest declaration of your youth, and let hard work be a dazzling medal you wear proudly.

在“书记话时事”环节，第一书记董爱霞老师带来了主题为“以坚守赴热爱，以吃苦赴梦想”的分享。董老师以两位普通青年的逆袭故事为例：22岁的斯诺克小将吴宜泽，出身兰州普通家庭，曾在露天煤渣球台练球，每天凌晨四点半苦练基本功，最终在2026年世锦赛绝杀夺冠；国产张雪机车创始人张雪，14岁当修车学徒，立志打造中国人的世界级赛车，屡败屡战，最终在2026年WSBK赛事上打破欧美日垄断，让中国摩托站上世界顶级赛场。

During the "Secretary’s Talk on Current Affairs" segment, First Secretary Teacher Dong Aixia delivered a talk titled “With persistence and passion to tackle hardship for your dreams.” Teacher Dong illustrated her point with the comeback stories of two ordinary young people: Wu Yize, a 22-year-old snooker player from an ordinary family in Lanzhou, who practiced on open-air cinder ball tables and honed his basic skills at 4:30 every morning, eventually clinching the championship with a final-frame decider at the 2026 World Snooker Championship; and Zhang Xue, founder of the domestic brand Zhang Xue Motorcycles, who became a repair apprentice at 14 and aspired to build a world-class racing motorcycle for China. Despite repeated failures, he never gave up and finally broke the long-standing monopoly of European, American and Japanese brands at the 2026 WSBK World Superbike Championship, bringing Chinese innovation to the world's top stage.

董老师借此勉励全体同学：成功从来没有捷径，所有光鲜荣耀的背后，都是日复一日的默默扎根、无数次跌倒后的咬牙坚持，以及酷暑寒冬中不肯放弃的吃苦坚守。她希望大家以吴宜泽、张雪这样的榜样为力量，在书山学海中勤学奋进，在日常点滴中脚踏实地，耐得住寂寞、吃得了苦头，用不懈的坚守成就属于自己的梦想。

Then, Teacher Dong encouraged all the students: Success has never come from shortcuts. Behind every shining glory lies day‑after‑day of silent effort, gritting one’s teeth and holding on after countless falls, and the perseverance of refusing to give up through thick and thin. She hoped that everyone would draw strength from role models like Wu Yize and Zhang Xue, study diligently in the sea of knowledge, stay grounded in every small daily deed, endure loneliness, bear hardships, and achieve one’s own dreams through unremitting persistence.

仪式最后，行政中心主任陈诺斯老师围绕校园卡通形象“万小双”的性别话题，向全体同学发起了一场特别讨论。陈老师提到，近期有不少同学好奇发问：“万小双到底是男生还是女生？”这个问题，无论是杨帆校长还是各位老师，都无法给出确切的答案。为此，学校将从本周起正式发起一场关于“万小双性别”的大讨论。届时，一楼架空层将设置留言板，欢迎同学们写下自己的推测与理由。同时，有意深入探讨的同学还可以填写报名表，学校将根据报名情况组织辩论赛或讨论会。

At the end of the ceremony, Teacher Chen Nuosi, Director of the Administrative Center,  launched a special discussion about the gender identity of the campus cartoon character "Wan Xiaoshuang." She mentioned that many students had recently asked with curiosity: "Is Wan Xiaoshuang a boy or a girl?" Neither Principal Yang Fan nor the teachers could give a definite answer to this question. Therefore, the school will officially initiate a discussion on "Wan Xiaoshuang's Gender" starting this week. A message board will be set up on the first-floor open area for students to share their speculations. Those interested in deeper exploration can also sign up, and the school will organize debates or discussion sessions.

Teacher Chen stated that the world is interesting and wonderful because of its diversity. Every bold guess and every earnest question from the students will be carefully listened to and fully respected by the school. She encouraged the students to always maintain their curiosity and learn to respect different perspectives. The school will always cherish every student's independent thinking, ensuring that every voice is seen and every unique idea finds a platform here.

The flag-raising ceremony ended with warm applause. From the inheritance of the May Fourth Spirit, to the power of striving to emulate role models, and to the bold discussion of campus culture, VBS students underwent another spiritual renewal and intellectual launch beneath the solemn national flag. May every student take to heart the ideal of "ignite youth and strive in the present moment," to pursue passion with persistence, embrace dreams through endurance, explore with curiosity, grow with respect, and welcome their own bright future with confidence and vigor.

The breeze of May brings the vitality of early summer and reminds us of the May Fourth Youth Day. Over a century ago, a group of young people, driven by passion, cried out to defend the nation and devoted their youth to its survival.

如今，这火焰传递到我们手中，它不再是烽火硝烟中的呐喊，而是我们在书桌前攻克难题的专注，是运动场上咬牙坚持的汗水，是面对挑战时“我能行”的底气。

Today, this spirit has been passed down to us. It is no longer just a cry on the battlefield, it is seen in our focus in study, our persistence in sports, and our confidence when facing challenges.

A century ago, the 26-year-old Mao Zedong declared“The world belongs to us; and the nation is ours.”At that time, he studied under dim lamps and was driven by the ambition to transform China and the world.

二十世纪五十年代，26岁的钱学森用“宁可种苹果树也要回国”的决绝，冲破重重封锁归国，在西北戈壁滩用算盘计算导弹轨迹，让中国挺起了国防的脊梁。

Likewise, in the 1950s, the 26-year-old Qian Xuesen broke through barriers to return to China and made great contributions to its scientific development. In the Gobi Desert, he calculated missile paths and strengthened the nation’s defense.

回望那段风云激荡的岁月，正是这些先辈在最美好的青春年华立下宏伟志向，将个人命运与国家前途紧密相连，从而照亮了一个时代的征程。

Looking back, these pioneers set great goals as youth, and linked their lives with the development of the nation. Their stories tell us that youthful ambition, when combined with action, can shape an era.

近日，22岁的中国00后小将吴宜泽，在2026年斯诺克世锦赛书写逆袭传奇。他出身甘肃兰州普通家庭，无背景、无名师，小时候就在露天煤渣球台练球，寒冬零下十几度坚持开窗训练磨炼心态。别人玩耍、睡懒觉时，他每天凌晨四点半就泡在球房，一遍遍打磨枯燥基本功。本次世锦赛，他强势战胜老牌世界冠军塞尔比，终结连败，强势闯入八强。他全程沉着冷静、敢打敢拼，最终以18比17绝杀夺冠，从普通少年逆袭成世界冠军。

Recently, 22-year-old Chinese snooker player Wu Yize made history at the 2026 World Snooker Championship. Coming from a modest family in Lanzhou, he practiced on outdoor cinder tables as a child, braving winter temperatures as low as -10°C with windows wide open. While others played or slept in, he was in the practice hall at 4:30 a.m. every day, grinding through basic drills. At the championship, he defeated former world champion Selby, broke his losing streak, and advanced to the quarterfinals. With composure and courage, he won the final 18-17, transforming from an ordinary boy into a world champion.

Equally remarkable is Zhang Xue, founder of the Chinese brand Zhang Xue Motorcycles. A village boy from Huaihua, Hunan, he became a repair apprentice at 14, spending his days covered in grease and scars while tirelessly studying motorcycle technology. Seeing how foreign brands had long monopolized core technologies, he resolved to build a world-class racing bike for China. He invested everything into developing his own engine, never backing down despite repeated failures. At the 2026 WSBK World Superbike Championship, his domestic racing motorcycle won multiple titles, breaking the long-standing monopoly of European, American, and Japanese brands and bringing Chinese motorcycles to the world's top stage.
