万双网讯  2025年12月29日，万科双语学校举行2025-2026学年第一学期第18周升旗仪式。本周升旗仪式由4F班负责，戴彭兴（Austin）和周允熙（Abby）担任主持人。4F班是一个团结包容、乐学善思的集体，自主管理、开拓思维是他们共同努力的目标。护旗任务由4F班全体同学承担，他们圆满完成了庄严的升旗环节。

On December 29th, 2025, the flag-raising ceremony for the eighteen week of the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year was held on the playground of Vanke Bilingual School. This ceremony was hosted by Class 4F. Students Dai Pengxing (Austin) and Zhou Yunxi (Abby) served as the hosts. The students of Class 4F are united, inclusive, fond of learning and good at thinking. They are committed to the shared goals of fostering self-management and cultivating forward-thinking mindsets. All of the other students in Class 4F formed a flag color guard, and they carried out the solemn flag-raising ceremony.

During the speech segment under the national flag, students Zhang Jinyi (Jenny) and Peng Wanghaiyun (Sunny) delivered a speech titled “Welcoming New Year's Day and Looking Forward to the Future”. With heartfelt reflection, they recounted their growth milestones and the memorable moments of students during classroom learning, PBL explorations, sports competitions, and extracurricular life during 2025, expressing gratitude for the solid foundation laid by previous years. Looking ahead to the new year of 2026, they called upon all students to embrace their courage and stay steadfast in their goals, pursuing dreams with self-driven development and unwavering determination. The speakers also extended wishes for a joyful New Year and boundless success to all teachers and students. Brimming with youthful energy and inspiration, the speech galvanized the entire school community to unite in welcoming the new year and building a brilliant future together.

在“书记话时事”环节，第一书记董爱霞老师以“穿越天山 逐梦前行”为题，为师生们生动讲述了世界最长高速公路隧道——天山胜利隧道正式通车的壮举。董老师通过形象的数据对比，阐释了这条长达22.13公里、最大埋深超千米的隧道所代表的世界级工程难度与建设奇迹，并重点介绍了其将乌鲁木齐至库尔勒车程从7小时大幅缩短至3小时的变革性意义。她指出，这条隧道不仅是打通南北疆的交通大动脉、丝绸之路经济带的重要通道，更承载着千年的交通梦想，其建设过程中凝聚的建设者智慧、汗水与攻坚精神，是激励同学们克服学习难关、树立远大理想的生动榜样。最后，董老师号召全体同学，作为新时代的见证者与未来的建设者，要将个人奋斗融入国家发展，在青春的赛道上勇敢逐梦前行。

During the “Secretary’s Talk on Current Affairs” segment, the title of the speech given by First Secretary Teacher Dong Aixia was "Crossing the Tianshan Mountains and Fighting for your dreams". She talked about Tianshan Shengli Tunnel, the world's longest expressway tunnel, which spans 22.13 kilometers, opened to traffic on last Friday in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. The expressway links Urumqi, the regional capital, to Yuli county in the Bayingolin Mongolian autonomous prefecture, cutting the travel time from Urumqi to Korla from seven hours to three and a half. She pointed out that this tunnel is not only a major transportation route between northern and southern Xinjiang, but also recreates a thousand-year-old route that was an important passage for the Silk Road Economic Belt. Through the construction, the wisdom, diligence, and perseverance of the builders, these served as powerful inspirations for students to overcome academic challenges and nurture ambitious ideals. In conclusion, Teacher Dong hopes that all the students will integrate their personal efforts into the development of the country and bravely pursue their dreams from a young age.

At the end of the ceremony, Teacher Niu Chuyuan announced the VBS’s achievements in the "2025 The Future Leaders Model UN Summit". The summit, with the theme of "Smart Healthcare: Focusing on Universal Health Coverage", saw five teams from Vanke Bilingual School return with honors for their outstanding critical thinking skills and collaborative spirit, demonstrating the responsibility and style of a new generation of teenagers. Principal Yang Fan, Teacher Lin Hongying (Assistant Principal) and First Secretary Teacher Dong Aixia presented awards to the winning teachers and students. The school looks forward to more students in the future having a broad international perspective, enhancing global competitiveness, flexibly using bilingual language skills to communicate with the world, and demonstrate the contemporary strength of Chinese youth in the future.

New Year's Day is a significant moment to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, symbolizing a new beginning and fresh hope. We have experienced significant growth over the past few years. Looking back on 2025, it's like flipping through a diary filled with stories, with our footprints shining on every page.

课堂上，我们积极思考，小组合作，探索知识的星辰大海，为解决一道数学难题而欢呼雀跃，为科学课上奇妙的实验现象而睁大双眼；PBL探究中，我们因一个创意而激烈讨论，最后在彼此的包容中找到了最优答案。

In class, we actively think, collaborate in groups, explore the vast ocean of knowledge, cheer when solving a mathematical problem, and open our eyes wide to the wonderful experimental phenomena in science class. In PBL, we had a heated discussion about a creative idea and finally found the optimal answer through mutual respect.

迎着朝阳，望着飘扬的五星红旗，今天我们聊聊一件振奋人心的国家大事——世界最长高速公路隧道“天山胜利隧道”及所在的乌尉高速公路已正式通车！这条穿越天山的“巨龙”，不仅刷新了世界纪录，更让天山南北的通行迎来了历史性变革。

Facing the rising sun and the national flag, today let's talk about the world's longest expressway tunnel, the "Tianshan Shengli Tunnel". That and the Wuyi Expressway have been officially opened to traffic! This "giant dragon" that traverses the Tianshan Mountains not only sets a new world record, but also brings about a historic transformation in the passage between the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains.

可能有同学会问，这条隧道到底有多厉害？用通俗的话来讲，它全长22.13公里，相当于5座南京长江大桥公路桥的总长；最大埋深超1112米，差不多是370层楼叠起来的高度，想想都令人震撼！更难的是，它要穿越16个地质断裂带，就像在“豆腐里挖洞”，随时面临塌方、涌水风险，还要扛住零下几十度高寒、3000米高海拔等极限环境，施工难度堪称世界级。但咱们国家的建设者们靠创新破局，用世界首创的“三洞+四竖井”方案，仅用52个月就完成了贯通，比预期工期大幅缩短，实现了20分钟穿越天山的奇迹。

Some students might ask, just how amazing is this tunnel? In plain terms, it is 22.13 kilometers long, equivalent to the total length of five Nanjing Yangtze River and Highway Bridges. The maximum depth exceeds 1,112 meters, which is almost the height of 370 building floors stacked together. Just thinking about it is astonishing! What's even more challenging is that it has to cross 16 geological fault zones, just like digging holes in tofu, constantly facing the risks of collapse. It also has to withstand extreme environments such as temperatures as low as several dozen degrees below zero at an altitude of 3,000 meters. The construction difficulty can be described as world-class. However, the builders of our country broke through the deadlock through innovation. With the world's first "three tunnels + four vertical shafts" scheme, they completed this breakthrough in just 52 months, significantly shortening the expected construction period and achieving the miracle of crossing the Tianshan Mountains in just 20 minutes.

这20分钟的跨越，意义远不止“快一点”。通车前，乌鲁木齐到库尔勒开车要7小时，如今3小时就能直达；以前北疆原料运到南疆要三四天，现在一两天就能抵达。更值得一提的是，隧道北入口的汉代风格阙楼古朴雄浑，南出口的甲骨文“天山”造型古今辉映，20分钟的穿越，跨越的不仅是天堑，更是千年的交通梦想。

This 20-minute leap is far more significant than just "a little faster". Before the opening of this tunnel, it took 7 hours to drive from Urumqi to Korla. Now, it only takes 3 hours. In the past, it took three or four days for products from northern Xinjiang to reach southern Xinjiang, but now they can arrive in just one or two days. What is even more worth mentioning is that the Han dynasty-style gate tower at the north entrance of the tunnel is simple and imposing, while the oracle bone inscriptions of "Tianshan" at the south exit blend the ancient and the modern. In just 20 minutes of crossing, what is crossed is not only a natural barrier but also a thousand-year-old symbol.

这条隧道更是丝绸之路经济带核心区的重要通道。它打通了南北疆人流、物流大动脉，让中国东部经济圈与亚欧国家快速连通；作为全天候运输通道，还能保障国家能源、农产品供应链安全；建设期间带动1500余名当地劳动力就业，通车后“交通+旅游+农产品”业态，更会为沿线群众铺就增收新路。 

This tunnel is an important passage in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt. It has unblocked major arteries for the flow of people and goods between the north and south of Xinjiang, enabling the eastern economic circle in China to be rapidly connected with other countries in Asia and Europe. As an all-weather transportation channel, it can also ensure the security of the national energy and agricultural product supply chains. During the construction period, it created employment opportunities for over 1,500 local laborers. After being opened to the public, the "transportation + tourism + agricultural products" business model will further pave a new path for increasing income for the people living along this line.

同学们，奇迹的背后，是建设者们的坚守与付出。有人从35岁到不惑之年，把青春献给天山；有人一年340多天扎根雪域，与严寒缺氧为伴；还有施工班组在“水帘洞”般的涌水现场连夜坚守。他们的攻坚克难，正是我们学习的榜样。我们学习中的难题，就像建设者面对的地质难关；我们的理想目标，恰似隧道通往的远方。 

Dear students, behind every miracle lies the perseverance and dedication of the builders. Some people devoted their youth to the Tianshan Mountains from the age of 35 to 40. Some people are rooted in the snow-capped land for over 340 days a year, accompanied by severe cold and lack of oxygen. There are still construction teams working through the night at places where water gushes out like a "water curtain cave". Their perseverance in overcoming difficulties is precisely a role model for us to learn from. The difficulties we encounter in our studies are just like the geological challenges faced by builders. Our ideal goal is just like the distant place that a tunnel leads to.

隧道贯通天山，畅联南北未来。我们生在交通强国建设的新时代，既是这件大事的见证者，更要成为未来的参与者。让我们把青春奋斗融入民族复兴事业，在属于自己的赛道上勇敢前行！ 

The tunnel runs through the Tianshan Mountains, connecting the north and south of Xinjiang for the future. We are born of a new era of building a strong nation in transportation. We are not only witnesses to this major event but we should also become participants in the future.
