On November 17, 2025, Vanke Bilingual School (VBS) solemnly held the 12th-Week Flag-Raising Ceremony for the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year on the school playground. The ceremony was organized by Class 3F, with Wei Xitong (Amanda) and Xiang Yuze (Jacky) serving as the hosts. The flag-escorting formation consisted of all students from Class 3F. They are a united and proactive class, bound by the shared aspiration to ‘make excellence a habit’, and in doing so demonstrated an exceptional collective spirit.

During the Speech Under the National Flag, Wu Dingjie (Jayson) and Yu Mengshan (Mia) delivered a speech titled ‘Embodying Core Socialist Values: Striving to Be Civilized Students’. They elaborated on the practical significance of ‘dedication, integrity, and Friendship’— key values for primary and secondary students within the framework of the Socialist Core Values. They called upon all students to embrace dedication in their studies, to uphold integrity in their words and deeds, and to practice kindness as a habit. Furthermore, they encouraged everyone to aspire not only to be civilized students but also to become responsible and innovative individuals of the new era.

本周的“书记话时事”环节，第一书记董爱霞老师以《科技燃动全运 创新点亮未来》为主题，向同学们介绍了第十五届全国运动会中科技与体育的深度融合。她讲到，这场以“科技、绿色、融合、人文”为理念的盛会，不仅展现了运动员的拼搏精神，更彰显了中国科技创新的硬核实力。从南海1522米深海成功采集可燃冰作为圣火源火，到3D打印火炬无惧风雨稳定燃烧；从AI自主生成174米数字画卷展现传统美学，到机器人敲响千年青铜乐器演绎古今和鸣；从全球首个人形机器人担任火炬手，到飞行汽车、AI机器狗参与赛事保障——每一项创新都凝聚着科研工作者的智慧与汗水。

In this week’s “Current Affairs Address” segment, Party Secretary Dong Aixia delivered a presentation titled ‘Technology Ignites the National Games, Innovation Lights Up the Future’. She introduced students to the deep integration of technology and sports at the 15th National Games. Secretary Dong highlighted that this grand event, guided by the principles of “Technology, Green Development, Integration, and Humanism,” not only showcased the athletes’ perseverance but also demonstrated China’s formidable strength in technological innovation. From the successful extraction of combustible ice from the South China Sea at a depth of 1,522 meters to serve as the sacred flame source, to the 3D-printed torch that burned steadily in all weather conditions; from an AI-generated 174-meter digital scroll showcasing traditional aesthetics, to robots playing millennia-old bronze instruments in a performance of ancient and modern melodies; from the world's first humanoid robot torchbearer, to flying cars and AI robotic dogs supporting event operations—each innovation reflected the wisdom and dedication of our scientific researchers.

We often hear about the “Core socialist values”. They are not just far-away slogans, but like bright guiding lights in our daily life. Today, let's light up three of the most familiar ones: Dedication, Honesty, and Kindness.

我们常常听到“社会主义核心价值观”，它不是遥远的口号，而是我们日常学习生活中一盏盏明亮的指路明灯。今天，就让我们一同点亮其中三盏最为熟悉的灯：敬业、诚信与友善。

The first light, Dedication, lights up our journey of learning. It tells us that a student’s “work” is to focus on studying. This dedication means paying attention in class, being careful with homework, and never giving up when facing difficult problems. Let's use dedication to help us write the test paper of our youth.

早上好！当晨光洒满操场，当国旗冉冉升起，今天我要跟大家分享一则超燃的时事新闻——第十五届全国运动会正上演“科技与体育的双向奔赴”！这场以“科技、绿色、融合、人文”为核心的盛会，除赛场拼搏之外，更藏着中国科技创新的硬核实力。

Good morning! As the morning light spreads over the playground and the national flag rises slowly, today I want to share with you an exciting current event— the 15th National Games is witnessing a “mutual embrace between technology and sports”! Beyond the fierce competitions on the field, this grand event, centered on the core concepts of “Technology, Greenness, Integration, and Humanity”, also showcases the solid strength of China’s scientific and technological innovation.

最震撼的莫过于深海采火的奇迹！工作人员搭乘“海马”号潜水器，潜入南海1522米深海开采可燃冰，通过光伏发电将太阳能传至海底点燃“海之火”，成为全运会的源火。这是全球首次深海采集运动会圣火，彰显我国深海勘探技术的突破与清洁能源探索的决心。传递火炬更是“黑科技集合体”：3D打印的三朵不锈钢花瓣耐千度高温，三层隔热设计让手持处低于体温，两米跌落、八级风雨下主火依旧明亮，真正“无惧风雨”。

The most breathtaking highlight is undoubtedly the “miracle of fire collection from the deep sea”! Workers boarded the “Haima” submersible and dived 1,522 meters under the South China Sea to extract methane hydrate (combustible ice). Solar energy, transmitted to the seabed via photovoltaic power generation, ignited this “deep-sea fire”, which became the sacred flame of the National Games. This marks a world first in collecting a sports event’s flame from the deep sea, demonstrating China’s breakthroughs in deep-sea exploration technology and its commitment to clean energy development. The torch relay itself is a “gathering of cutting-edge technologies”: its three 3D-printed stainless steel petals can withstand temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees Celsius; its three-layer heat insulation design keeps the handle cooler than human body temperature; even after a two-meter drop or exposure to level-8 winds and heavy rain, the main flame remains bright—truly “unfazed by wind and rain”.

开幕式174米数字画卷堪称“AI作画天花板”，由AI智能体自主生成，未由画师亲笔勾勒。AI提前研习上千幅传统名画与岭南文化元素，画出的山水人物尽显中国韵味。更惊艳的是，两千多年前青铜句鑃经数字采样还原原声，由机器人敲响与现代旋律合奏，醒狮在 AIGC 中蹦跳，英歌锣鼓碰撞全息投影，AR 龙舟“划”进观众席，传统文化在科技加持下变得新潮易懂。

The 174-meter digital scroll at the opening ceremony is hailed as “the pinnacle of AI-generated art”. Independently created by AI agents, it required no brushstrokes from human artists. The AI had previously studied thousands of traditional Chinese masterpieces and Lingnan cultural elements, infusing the painted landscapes and figures with distinct Chinese charm. What’s even more stunning is that the bronze jue drums—ancient Chinese percussion instruments with a history of over 2,000 years—were digitally sampled to restore their original sound. Robots played these drums in harmony with modern melodies; lion dancers (a traditional Chinese folk performance) leaped through AIGC-generated scenes; Yingge drums and gongs (a vibrant folk art form from southern China) interacted with holographic projections; and AR-enabled dragon boats “rowed” past the audience stands. Thanks to technology, traditional culture has been transformed into something trendy and accessible.

赛场内外科技感拉满：广东奥体中心靠自研声学软件破解8万人场馆近7秒混响难题，让观众现场及云端都能听清解说；深圳体育中心1000多个5G天线实现全域覆盖，看赛发圈零卡顿；全球首例人形机器人“夸父”当起“0号火炬手”，自主完成火炬传递；无人驾驶与飞行汽车穿梭赛事专线，满足媒体与观众出行需求；AI机器狗带“智慧大脑”巡逻，遇险弹网处置还能登高3米执勤，消除安保隐患。

Both inside and outside the competition venues, technology is everywhere. The Guangdong Olympic Sports Center used self-developed acoustic software to solve the problem of nearly 7 seconds of reverberation in its 80,000-seat venue, ensuring that both on-site spectators and online viewers can clearly hear the commentary. The Shenzhen Sports Center is covered by over 1,000 5G antennas, allowing spectators to share their viewing moments online without lag. Kua Fu, the world’s first humanoid robot, served as “Torchbearer No. 0” and independently completed its torch relay. Autonomous vehicles and flying cars operated on dedicated routes for the event, meeting the transportation needs of media and spectators. AI robot dogs, equipped with “smart brains”, patrolled the premises—they can deploy nets to handle emergencies and even climb up to 3 meters to perform duties, eliminating security risks.
