万双网讯 为提高学生演讲与表达的综合能力,提升学生的中英文综合素养,让孩子站在舞台中央,2025年6月18日13时35分,万科双语学校第51期E-talk活动在学校剧场举行。两百余名师生现场聆听了演讲,活动同时面向全校师生直播。
In order to improve students’ comprehensive abilities of speech and expression, enhance students’ literacy in Chinese and English, and put children at the center of the stage, the 51th E-talk of Vanke Bilingual School was held in the school theatre at 13:35 p.m. on June 18th, 2025. Over 200 teachers and students attended the event, and it was also live-streamed to the entire school.
本次E-talk活动的主题是 “墨韵书香寻幽径,阅读引我步青云”,来自七至八年级的8名同学用中文进行了精彩的演讲。同学们分享了 “阅读带给他们的感悟”,评委老师为同学们的精彩表现做了点评。
The theme of this E-talk activity was “In ink’s aroma and books’ fragrance, I seek seclusion; Through reading, I ascend towards clouds up in the azure sky.” 8 students from Grades 7 to 8 gave wonderful speeches in Chinese. The students shared their insights on reading, and the judges commented on the students’ wonderful performances.

In her speech ‘Lost in the Sea of Ink: The Light of Reason in Detective novels,’ Echo from Class 7I explored how books nourish the human spirit, using detective novels as an example. She highlighted Agatha Christie’s works, such as And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express, noting that while their plots are thrilling, they also delve deeply into themes of human nature, morality, and justice. Detective novels, she explained, have become a ‘beacon of rationality’ for her, teaching her to maintain critical thinking in an era of information overload. Concluding with a quote from Francis Bacon, she encouraged everyone to cultivate wisdom and reasoning through the nourishment of books.”

The Starlit Canon Illuminates Our Path: Echoes of Scientific Spirit Through the Ages
7I班的刘晨懿同学在《典籍星河照征途:探寻科学精神的千年回响》的演讲中,带领大家探寻了三部蕴含科学精神的古代典籍:《天工开物》展现了古人对万物规律的敬畏与探索,传递实证精神;《本草纲目》记录着李时珍亲尝百草的坚韧与勇气,照亮科研道路;徐霞客的《游记》则体现其探险壮志,激励人们勇敢探索。这三部典籍如同灯塔,传递科学探索的信念,号召我们汲取古人智慧,以好奇心点亮探索之路。
Mia from Class 7I guided the audience through three ancient masterpieces embodying a scientific ethos: The Exploitation of the Works of Nature demonstrated our ancestors’ reverence for natural laws and their empirical outlook; Compendium of Materia Medica documented Li Shizhen’s perseverance in testing hundreds of herbs, lighting the way for scientific inquiry; while Xu Xiake’s Travel Diaries embodied exploratory valor that continues to inspire today. These canonical works stand as lighthouses, illuminating scientific exploration across centuries, urging us to harness ancestral wisdom and ignite our journey of discovery with curiosity.

7G班的李一翀同学和7C班的卢昊睿同学围绕《在平凡与浮华中追寻人性的光芒》展开了演讲。他们以路遥的《平凡的世界》中孙少平、孙少安等人物为例,展现了平凡人在苦难中坚守尊严与理想;又以马克·吐温的《百万英镑》里亨利·亚当斯的经历为例,揭示了金钱对人性的考验。他们强调,物质不能决定灵魂高度,呼吁大家,在现实与物欲中坚守本心,追寻人性光芒。
Students Yechiel from Class 7G and Chris from Class 7C delivered speeches titled “Seeking the Radiance of Humanity Amidst the Ordinary and the Ostentatious. Drawing examples from Lu Yao’s Ordinary World, they illustrated how characters like Sun Shaoping and Sun Shaoan maintained dignity and ideals amidst hardship. They then turned to Mark Twain’s The Million Pound Note, using Henry Adams’ story to examine wealth’s test on human character. Their central message: Material wealth cannot define the soul. They called on everyone to stay true to one’s essence—to seek humanity’s light while navigating worldly desires.

Anna shared insights from Charlotte’s Web, drawing parallels between Charlotte’s rescue of Wilbur and Mother Teresa’s life, illustrating how true growth means striving to become someone else’s “Charlotte”. Candy took Harry Potter as an example, highlighting how characters like Hermione define themselves through their choices, embodying independence. She further reinforced this with real-world inspirations—Zhang Guimei’s educational dedication and Kazuo Inamori’s entrepreneurial philosophy—proving how inner strength can transform the world. Together, they concluded with a call to action: “Let reading make your youth shine.”

8E班的汪颢渊同学围绕“当文字成为星火——《红星照耀中国》里的生命群像”展开演讲。他带领大家透过斯诺的笔尖,回到了1936年的陕甘宁窑洞,感受书中鲜活的生命群像。战士们在战火中信仰坚定,如吴起镇战士的互暖、大渡河突击队员的英勇无畏;领袖们充满温度,毛泽东关心警卫员、朱德与战士共甘苦、周恩来把钢笔给机要员;“红小鬼”王新安等在十五六岁的年纪便心怀天下,果敢战斗。他呼吁大家以他们为榜样,把“让中国看见未来”写进理想,让先辈精神流淌在血脉中,用青春书写荣光。
Andy from Class 8E delivered a speech titled “When Words Become Sparks: Portraits of Life in ‘Red Star Over China’.” He guided the audience through Edgar Snow’s writings back to the cave dwellings of Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia in 1936, vividly reconstructing the living portraits in the book. He described how soldiers held unwavering faith amidst the flames of war, such as the mutual warmth shared by the soldiers of Wuqi Town and the bravery and fearlessness of the Dadu River commandos; The warmth of leaders’ -- Mao Zedong cared about the guards, Zhu De shared in the joys and sorrows of the soldiers, and Zhou Enlai gave the pen to his confidential officer; Poeple’s militia Wang Xin’an and others had the world in mind at the age of fifteen or sixteen and fought resolutely. He called on everyone to follow their example, to inscribe “Let China See the Future” into their ideals, to let the spirit of past heroes flow in their veins, and to write their own glory with the vigor of youth.

Your stage presence radiates increasing assurance, and I hope you’ll keep striving. You explored this book through three compelling lenses: faith, humanity, and youth, weaving together poignant details while also bridging history with the present. Truly impressive. As the saying goes, ‘Life is vast—the companions we choose determine how far we travel.’ Red Star Over China introduces many extraordinary figures. If given the chance, whom would you choose to walk alongside?”
8C廖宸苗:与地坛对话,读懂生命的重量
Dialogue with the Temple of Earth: Understanding the Weight of Life
最后,墨韵书香弥漫在我们最熟悉的万双校园。8C班的廖宸苗同学围绕史铁生的《我与地坛》展开分享。她提到书中摇轮椅的孤独身影、默默守望的母亲、野草荒藤的生命图景,指出其中藏着命运的复杂况味与超越苦难的力量。她还结合自身经历,谈到疫情期间上网课时和妈妈的相处,以此类比史铁生母亲的爱。她还进一步阐述了史铁生对欲望的思考,强调理性引导欲望、平衡现实与欲望的重要性。最后,她呼吁同学们在挫折中怀有希望,在被爱时懂感恩、在逐梦时葆执着,书写温暖人生。
Finally, the fragrance of ink and books permeated our familiar VBS Campus. Celeste from Class 8C shared her reflections on Shi Tiesheng’s My Dialogue with the Temple of Earth. She spoke of the solitary figure in a wheelchair, the silently watchful mother, and the vibrant yet desolate imagery of wild grass and vines—all embodying life’s complex flavors and the power to transcend suffering. Drawing parallels to her own life, she recounted her experiences with online classes during the pandemic and her evolving relationship with her mother, mirroring the unconditional love of Shi Tiesheng’s mother. Delving deeper, she explored Shi Tiesheng’s meditations on desire, emphasizing the need to guide desires with reason and balance aspirations with reality. In closing, she urged her classmates to maintain hope amidst setbacks, practice gratitude when cared for, and persist with passion in pursuit of their dreams—crafting a life of warmth and meaning.

Your analysis of Shi Tiesheng’s thoughts on desire and life was equally insightful. If I may suggest, slow your pace slightly and infuse a bit more emotional cadence to elevate it even further.”
万科双语学校E-talk活动每周举行一次,学生自主报名参与,中文、英文均可,老师将相同或相似主题的演讲者安排在同一期演讲,主旨是让学生做到能说、会说、敢说,善思、善辩、善究。
The E-talk activity of Vanke Bilingual School is held once a week. Students can sign up to participate on their own. Both Chinese and English are accepted. The teacher arranges speakers with the same or similar topics to give speeches in the same period. The purpose is to enable students to be able to speak freely, confidently and bravely; to be good at thinking, debating, and doing research.

8E班的汪颢渊同学围绕“当文字成为星火——《红星照耀中国》里的生命群像”展开演讲。他带领大家透过斯诺的笔尖,回到了1936年的陕甘宁窑洞,感受书中鲜活的生命群像。战士们在战火中信仰坚定,如吴起镇战士的互暖、大渡河突击队员的英勇无畏;领袖们充满温度,毛泽东关心警卫员、朱德与战士共甘苦、周恩来把钢笔给机要员;“红小鬼”王新安等在十五六岁的年纪便心怀天下,果敢战斗。他呼吁大家以他们为榜样,把“让中国看见未来”写进理想,让先辈精神流淌在血脉中,用青春书写荣光。
Andy from Class 8E delivered a speech titled “When Words Become Sparks: Portraits of Life in ‘Red Star Over China’.” He guided the audience through Edgar Snow’s writings back to the cave dwellings of Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia in 1936, vividly reconstructing the living portraits in the book. He described how soldiers held unwavering faith amidst the flames of war, such as the mutual warmth shared by the soldiers of Wuqi Town and the bravery and fearlessness of the Dadu River commandos; The warmth of leaders’ -- Mao Zedong cared about the guards, Zhu De shared in the joys and sorrows of the soldiers, and Zhou Enlai gave the pen to his confidential officer; Poeple’s militia Wang Xin’an and others had the world in mind at the age of fifteen or sixteen and fought resolutely. He called on everyone to follow their example, to inscribe “Let China See the Future” into their ideals, to let the spirit of past heroes flow in their veins, and to write their own glory with the vigor of youth.

You explored this book through three compelling lenses: faith, humanity, and youth, weaving together poignant details while also bridging history with the present. Truly impressive. As the saying goes, ‘Life is vast—the companions we choose determine how far we travel.’ Red Star Over China introduces many extraordinary figures. If given the chance, whom would you choose to walk alongside?”
8C廖宸苗:与地坛对话,读懂生命的重量
Dialogue with the Temple of Earth: Understanding the Weight of Life
最后,墨韵书香弥漫在我们最熟悉的万双校园。8C班的廖宸苗同学围绕史铁生的《我与地坛》展开分享。她提到书中摇轮椅的孤独身影、默默守望的母亲、野草荒藤的生命图景,指出其中藏着命运的复杂况味与超越苦难的力量。她还结合自身经历,谈到疫情期间上网课时和妈妈的相处,以此类比史铁生母亲的爱。她还进一步阐述了史铁生对欲望的思考,强调理性引导欲望、平衡现实与欲望的重要性。最后,她呼吁同学们在挫折中怀有希望,在被爱时懂感恩、在逐梦时葆执着,书写温暖人生。
Finally, the fragrance of ink and books permeated our familiar VBS Campus. Celeste from Class 8C shared her reflections on Shi Tiesheng’s My Dialogue with the Temple of Earth. She spoke of the solitary figure in a wheelchair, the silently watchful mother, and the vibrant yet desolate imagery of wild grass and vines—all embodying life’s complex flavors and the power to transcend suffering. Drawing parallels to her own life, she recounted her experiences with online classes during the pandemic and her evolving relationship with her mother, mirroring the unconditional love of Shi Tiesheng’s mother. Delving deeper, she explored Shi Tiesheng’s meditations on desire, emphasizing the need to guide desires with reason and balance aspirations with reality. In closing, she urged her classmates to maintain hope amidst setbacks, practice gratitude when cared for, and persist with passion in pursuit of their dreams—crafting a life of warmth and meaning.
陈老师点评道:“宸苗,你今天的表现太棒了,进步很大。用细腻文字串联起了史铁生的故事与自身感悟。从对书中母亲默默坚守的共情,联系到疫情时和妈妈的互动,让抽象的母爱有了真实的温度。你还解读了史铁生对欲望与生命的思考。但若语速慢一点,更有感情一点就更好了。”
Teacher Chen commented: “Celeste, your presentation today was outstanding—such remarkable progress! You wove Shi Tiesheng’s story and your personal reflections together with exquisite sensitivity. From empathizing the mother’s quiet devotion in the book to connecting it with your own pandemic experiences with your mom, you gave abstract maternal love a tangible warmth. Your analysis of Shi Tiesheng’s thoughts on desire and life was equally insightful. If I may suggest, slow your pace slightly and infuse a bit more emotional cadence to elevate it even further.”
万科双语学校E-talk活动每周举行一次,学生自主报名参与,中文、英文均可,老师将相同或相似主题的演讲者安排在同一期演讲,主旨是让学生做到能说、会说、敢说,善思、善辩、善究。
The E-talk activity of Vanke Bilingual School is held once a week. Students can sign up to participate on their own. Both Chinese and English are accepted. The teacher arranges speakers with the same or similar topics to give speeches in the same period. The purpose is to enable students to be able to speak freely, confidently and bravely; to be good at thinking, debating, and doing research.
