万双网讯  2024年12月16日上午8时，梅沙教育深圳万科双语学校2024-2025学年第一学期第16周升旗仪式在操场举行。本周升旗仪式由4G班和4I班承担，吴芮颍同学和徐铭阳同学担任主持人。

The week 16 flag-raising assembly of the first semester in the 2024-2025 academic year was held in Vanke Bilingual School on the 16th of December, 2024. It was organized by classes 4G and 4I and was hosted by students Kitty and Jackson.

在“国旗下讲话”环节，4I班的郑易暖同学与4G班的王敬允同学共同发表了题为《回归传统节日，共赏中华文化》的国旗下讲话。两位同学深入浅出地讲述了冬至节气的历史渊源和在中国传统文化中的独特地位，强调了这个节气对于农业生产和民众生活的重要指导作用。他们呼吁全校师生共同关注和传承这一宝贵的非物质文化遗产，树立文化自信，积极参与到冬至的相关活动中去，以此感受中华文化的深厚底蕴。

In the speech session under the national flag, Kiki from Class 4I and Adrian from Class 4G delivered a speech entitled“Return to Traditional Festivals and Appreciate Chinese Culture”. The two students talked about the historical origins of the Winter Solstice and its unique position in traditional Chinese culture in simple terms, emphasizing its important guiding role for agricultural production and in people's lives. They called on all teachers and students to pay attention to their cultural heritage, establish self-confidence in their own culture, and actively participate in all activities related to the Winter Solstice, so as to experience the profound heritage of Chinese culture.

“第一书记话时事”环节，派驻第一书记刘晓娟老师总结了近期国际形势和中美贸易动态。她提到美国对华芯片出口禁令的出台，以及中国四大行业协会的回应和中国商务部的反制措施，强调了中国对美国关键产业实施“外科手术式打击”的举措。刘老师还指出，这是中国首次直接针对美国限制相关材料出口，表明中国有能力影响美国的生活便利。同时，她强调了中国在国际乱局中坚持的原则，鼓励学生们为更强大的祖国和人民的幸福生活而努力。

In the session of “First Secretary Talks about Current Affairs”, Ms. Liu summarized the recent international affairs as well as Sino-US trade dynamics. She mentioned the U.S. chip export ban to China, as well as the response of China’s four major industry associations and the countermeasures of China’s Ministry of Commerce, highlighting China’s move to carry out “surgical strikes” on key U.S. industries. Mr. Liu also pointed out that this is the first time that China has directly restricted the export of relevant materials to the United States, showing that China has the ability to affect the quality of life for people in the United States. At the same time, she emphasized the principles that China must adhere to in the midst of international chaos and encouraged students to work for a stronger motherland and a happy life for its people.

最后，彭平老师代表学校宣布正式开放218 STEAM教室和219创客实验室，供所有学生使用，以激发学生的创造力和动手能力。学生可以在指定时间申请在这两个教室进行个人创意项目，并自主学习编程、3D打印、积木搭建、机械操作等技能。这些教室将成为学生实现梦想的平台。

At the end of the assembly, on behalf of the school, Mr. Peng announced that the STEAM classroom in 218 and the Maker-lab Room in 219 are open for all students to use to stimulate students’ creativity and hands-on abilities. Students can apply for individual creative projects in these two classrooms at a specified time, and learn skills such as programming, 3D printing, building blocks, and mechanical operations. These classrooms will be a space for students to realize their dreams.

I am Adrian from Class 4G, and this is Kiki from Class 4I. The topic of our speech today is “Returning to Traditional Festivals, Appreciating Chinese Culture”.

“春雨惊春清谷天，夏满芒夏暑相连，秋处露秋寒霜降，冬雪雪冬小大寒。”你知道吗？本周六12月21日就是冬至了，作为二十四节气之一，不仅标志着一年中夜晚最长、白天最短的一天，更承载着丰富的文化内涵和深厚的历史底蕴。

In Chinese, there is a rhyme called the “Song of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms”, which concisely summarizes the names of the twenty-four solar terms into four lines that is catchy and easy to read aloud. Do you know that this Saturday, 21st December, is the Winter Solstice? As one of the 24 Solar Terms, it not only marks the day with the longest night and the shortest day of the year but also carries rich cultural connotations and a profound historical background.

冬至，自古以来便是人们团圆祭祖、祈福迎祥的重要节日。这一天，北方偏爱饺子，形似元宝，寓意着“招财进宝”；南方则钟情于汤圆，象征着家庭团圆美满，都寄托着人们对未来生活的美好期许。

Since ancient times, the Winter Solstice has been an important festival for people to reunite with their families, offer sacrifices to ancestors, and pray for blessings and good fortune. On this day, people in the north of China prefer eating dumplings, which resemble ingots and symbolize the "bringing in wealth and treasure." Meanwhile, those in the south prefer tangyuan, representing family reunion and completeness. Both reflect people's beautiful expectations for a future life.

冬至是我们众多传统节日之一。中国的二十四节气在2016年被列入《人类非物质文化遗产代表作名录》 ，已成为全人类共同拥有的、珍贵的非物质文化财富。2009年，端午节被列入“世界非遗” ，今年的12月4日，春节也成为了“世界非遗” 。中国的传统节日，正向世界展现着中华文化的博大精深与独特魅力。

The Winter Solstice is just one of our many traditional festivals. In 2016, China’s 24 Solar Terms were inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, becoming a precious intangible cultural asset shared by all humanity. In 2009, the Dragon Boat Festival was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, and on 4th December of this year, the Spring Festival joined the list as well. China’s traditional festivals showcase the profound wisdom and unique charm of Chinese culture to the world.

感受传统节日文化，于个人，有助于我们涵养巍巍中华之民族品格；于民族，则是夯实传统文化“根”与“魂”的重要举措。正如习近平总书记所言：“文化是一个国家、一个民族的灵魂。文化兴国运兴，文化强民族强。”

Experiencing traditional festival culture helps individuals cultivate the noble character of the Chinese nation. For the nation, it is a crucial measure to consolidate the "roots" and "soul" of traditional culture. As President Xi Jinping has said, "Culture is the soul of a country and a nation. Last week, I talked to you about the U.S. election, and we recognize the challenges that China is about to face, but we in China have the courage and determination to overcome all difficulties. In early December, after the United States introduced a new round of chip export bans to China, China’s four major industry associations quickly spoke out on the 3rd, calling on domestic companies to purchase American chips cautiously. On the same day, China’s Ministry of Commerce issued an announcement that it would strictly control the export of gallium, germanium, antimony, superhard materials and graphite and other related dual-use items to the United States, and implement stricter end-user and end-use reviews. These critical minerals are used in military equipment such as night vision goggles and are also essential for the production of U.S. chipmakers. Industries affected in the U.S. include semiconductors and satellites, infrared technology and fiber optic cables, lithium batteries and solar cells.
