万双网讯  2024年12月9日上午8时，梅沙教育深圳万科双语学校2024-2025学年第一学期第15周升旗仪式在操场举行。本周升旗仪式由5O班和5V班承担，宋陈萱洛（Rainbow）同学和张祉宸（Jason）同学担任主持人。

On the morning of December 9, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., the flag-raising ceremony for the 15th week of the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year at Shenzhen Vanke Bilingual School of Meisha Education was held on the playground. This week’s ceremony was hosted by Classes 5O and 5V, with Song Chenxuan  (Rainbow) and  Zhang Zhichen (Jason) being the hostesses. 

在“国旗下讲话”时间，5V班的张艺饶（Eran）同学、祝盈榛（Ginny）同学和5O班的管礼娴（ Lia）同学、石子立（ Zili）同学在南京大屠杀死难者国家公祭日的庄严时刻，向全体同学发表了感人至深的讲话《永不忘却的历史》。他们回顾了八十七年前南京城的悲惨遭遇，警示大家铭记国耻、勿忘国殇，并强调作为新时代青少年，应怀揣家国情怀、拓宽国际视野，勇敢承担历史使命，为中华民族的伟大复兴贡献青春力量。

During the “Speech Under the National Flag” segment, students Zhang Yirao (Eran) and Zhu Yingzhen (Ginny) from Class 5V, along with Guan Lixian (Lia) and Shi Zili (Zili) from Class 5O, delivered a heartfelt speech titled “An Unforgettable History” on the solemn occasion of the National Memorial Day for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre. They reflected on the tragic experiences of Nanjing city eighty-seven years ago, reminding everyone to remember the national humiliation and never forget the pain of the nation. They emphasized that as young people in the new era, we should carry a sense of patriotism, broaden our international perspectives, and courageously undertake the historical mission to contribute our youthful strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

讲话在共同朗诵南京大屠杀遇难同胞纪念馆冥思厅照壁上的警句中达到高潮，呼吁和平与铭记历史，激励同学们勇往直前。

The speech reached its climax as they recited the poignant phrases engraved on the wall of the Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre, calling for peace and the remembrance of history, inspiring their classmates to forge ahead with determination.

随后，派驻第一书记刘晓娟老师在时事分享中提及美国总统大选结果，分析了特朗普胜出带来的“美国优先”政策和对华强硬立场，特别是对中国进口产品加征关税的计划，指出中国面临的新挑战。刘晓娟书记借毛泽东主席的话语和华为突破技术封锁的案例，鼓励大家面对困难不退缩，坚定信心，勇往直前。她最后激励“万小双们”踏实学习，为中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦贡献自己的力量。

Subsequently, as the resident First Secretary, Teacher Liu Xiaojuan mentioned the results of the U.S. presidential election during her current affairs sharing. She analyzed the implications of Trump’s victory, particularly the “America First” policy and its tough stance towards China, especially the plan to impose tariffs on Chinese imports, pointing out the new challenges China is facing. Secretary Liu encouraged everyone to face difficulties without retreating, to maintain confidence, and to move forward bravely, citing Chairman Mao Zedong’s words and the example of Huawei breaking through technical blockades. She concluded by inspiring the “VBSers” to study diligently and contribute their strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese Dream.

在本周的升旗仪式中，一项特别的议程聚焦于对 3D 班刘禹东同学和 4F 班付高昇同学的隆重表彰。他们以拾金不昧的善行彰显了中华传统美德，主动将拾到的手机归还至失主手中，因此荣获锦旗和感谢信。杨帆校长亲自向他们颁发了荣誉锦旗，以此激励全校师生学习他们身上的中华美德，传递正能量，共同营造一个正直、诚信的校园氛围。  

In this week’s flag-raising ceremony, a special agenda focused on the commendation of Liu Yudong from Class 3D and Fu Gaosheng from Class 4F. Their honorable act of returning a lost mobile phone to its owner exemplified the traditional virtues of China, earning them a banner of honor and a letter of appreciation. Principal Yang Fan personally presented them with the honorary banner to encourage all students and staff to learn from their embodiment of Chinese virtues, to spread positive energy, and to foster an atmosphere of integrity and honesty on campus.

最后，孙晓萌老师宣布了第13周至第14周获得“金海豚”荣誉的班级，每个班级的名字都得到了师生们的热烈掌声和欢呼声。

Finally, Ms. Sun Xiaomeng announced the classes that received the “Golden Dolphin” award for Weeks 13 and 14. The announcement was met with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the students and teachers alike.

张：Hello everyone! My English name is Eran，我是5V班的张艺饶。

祝：尊敬的老师，亲爱的同学们，大家早上好!

管：My English name is Lia，我是5O班的管礼娴，Today, we are going to give a speech entitled “An Unforgettable History.”

石：My English name is Zili，我是5O班的石子立，今天，我们演讲的主题是《永不忘却的历史》

张：Eighty-seven years ago, it was a cold day on the 13th of December. On that day, the Japanese artillery bombarded the gates of Nanjing, and the inhumane invaders murdered innocents by using machine gun fire and burying people alive. They carried out a horrific massacre of unarmed Chinese civilians for six weeks. They slaughtered more than 300,000 of my compatriots with extreme cruelty! This is a day of humiliation in history, a day that makes every Chinese feel pain, and a national shame that can never be forgotten by the Chinese.

祝：八十七年前的12月13日，是一个寒冷的日子。那一天，日军的炮火轰开了南京城的大门，灭绝人性的侵略者用机枪扫射、活埋等方式，把人当做刺杀的靶子，对手无寸铁的中国人民进行了长达六周，惨绝人寰的大规模屠杀。他们以极其残忍的手段，屠杀了我30余万同胞！这是历史上屈辱的一天，是让我们每一个中国人心痛的日子，是一段，永远无法让中国人忘却的国耻。

管：This Friday, the 13th of December , is the National Memorial Day for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre. We commemorate this historical tragedy, not just for the sake of simply reckoning with history, but to understand the significance of a strong and powerful nation. It is hoped that our country, nation, and every Chinese person will feel a sense of hardship and gain a spirit of self-improvement.

石：周五，也就是12月13日，是南京大屠杀死难者国家公祭日。我们纪念历史，并不是为了简单的清算历史，而是领会国富民强的意义。希望我们的国家、民族和每一位中国人，都要有忧患意识和自强精神。

张：Only when you have faith in your heart can you go far. Face the future and take the road of learning in this new era. Those who do not seek easy things will succeed, and those who do not take refuge will advance. Striving to become a Chinese citizen with patriotism, international vision and the courage to create a better future is the goal of all VBS students.

祝：心有所信，方能行远。面向未来，走好新时代的学习之路，志不求易者成，事不避难者进。努力成为具有家国情怀和国际视野，敢于创造美好未来的中国公民是我们每一个万双学子的目标。

管：The great motherland has endured hardships, ups and downs and the vicissitudes. We are shouldering a cross-century historical mission. We are not willing to lag behind our predecessors and do not want China to be subjected to foreign aggression and humiliation again. We must inherit and carry forward the fearless spirit which was left to us by our pioneers who were not afraid of difficulties, and forge ahead.

石：沧海桑田，风雨坎坷。伟大的祖国历尽磨难，我们肩负着跨世纪的历史使命。我们不甘心落后于人，不愿让中国受外国侵略和凌辱的历史再现。我们要继承和发扬先行者留给我们不怕困难、开拓前进的大无畏精神。

张：If the youth is prosperous, the country will be prosperous, and if the youth is strong, the country will also be strong. We must adapt ourselves to the requirements of the times, correctly understand history and the future of our motherland, and love its great rivers and mountains. Strengthen ideals and beliefs through hard study, put into practice the original mission through hard work, strive to contribute to the realization of the "Two Century Goals” and provide wisdom for the realization of the “Chinese Dream”: the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Good morning, everyone! I’d like to start by asking: have you been following the U.S. presidential election in November? Donald Trump has won the election and is set to become the next President of the United States. He has consistently advocated for an “America First” policy and has openly declared plans for comprehensive confrontation, selective decoupling, and targeted containment against China. According to reports, he has already announced that after taking office, he will impose a 10% tariff on all Chinese imports. So, VBSers, China is once again facing significant challenges. What should we do?

我们的开国领袖毛泽东主席在《别了，司徒雷登》这篇文章中写道：多一点困难怕什么。中国人死都不怕，还怕困难吗？优秀民族企业华为通过自主研发突破美国技术封锁就是中华民族不怕牺牲、永不言败精神的体现。现如今我们国家的发展已经取得了举世瞩目的成就，未来的道路虽充满挑战同样也会处处有机遇，中国一定会坚定信心、保持定力、勇往直前。同时面对国际局势的变化，我们国家更加需要发扬自力更生、艰苦奋斗的精神，加强自主创新和技术研发。

Our founding leader, Chairman Mao Zedong, once wrote in Farewell, Leighton Stuart: “What’s there to fear about a few more difficulties? Chinese people are not afraid of death—how could we fear challenges?” The remarkable achievements of Huawei, breaking through U.S. technological blockades through independent research and development, embodies the spirit of the Chinese nation: fearlessness in the face of sacrifice and an unwavering will to succeed.
