万双网讯  2024年11月11日上午8时，梅沙教育深圳万科双语学校2024-2025学年第一学期第11周升旗仪式在操场举行。本周升旗仪式由4C班和4D班承担，陈乐言同学和杨泽宇同学担任主持人。

Week 11 flag-raising assembly of the first semester in 2024-2025 academic year was held in Vanke Bilingual School on 11th November, 2024. It was organized by class 4C and 4D and was hosted by Chen Leyan and Yang Zeyu.

在备受期待的科学活动周来临之际，彭平老师在国旗下发表了鼓舞人心的讲话。他回顾了2024年科技领域的重大突破，包括人工智能的飞速发展、绿色科技的创新进步以及航天领域的辉煌成就。彭平老师鼓励同学们不仅要学习使用科技，更要勇于创造科技，并培养批判性思维和提高解决问题的能力。他详细介绍了以“科创筑梦 照亮未来”为主题的活动周安排，将通过一系列科学活动让同学们体验科学的乐趣，激发他们成为新时代科技创新的积极参与者。

At the approach of the highly-anticipated Science Week, Mr Peng Ping delivered an inspiring speech about it. He reviewed the major breakthroughs in science and technology in 2024, including the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the innovation and progress of green technology, and the brilliant achievements in the field of aerospace. Mr Peng Ping encouraged students not only to learn to use technology, but also to have the courage to create technology, and to cultivate critical thinking and improve problem-solving skills. He introduced in detail the arrangement of the activity week with the theme of “Science and Technology Innovation Builds Dreams and Illuminates the Future”, which would allow students to experience the fun of science through a series of scientific activities and inspire them to become active participants in scientific and technological innovation in the new era.

在开幕式的高潮环节，三位科学老师身着实验袍，为同学们呈现了三场引人入胜的科学实验。液氮火山实验中，液氮与热水和洗涤剂的混合引发了泡沫和蒸汽的喷发，场面壮观，同学们目不转睛，惊叹声此起彼伏。火焰掌实验更是让同学们兴奋，老师将手伸入火焰却毫发无损。空气大炮实验则直观展示了空气动力学的奥妙，老师用塑料瓶和气球制成的简易装置，通过压缩空气发射气球，让同学们亲身体验科学实验的乐趣。三位老师与同学们的互动中，耐心解答疑问，详细解释实验原理，不仅丰富了同学们的科学知识，也锻炼了他们的观察力、思考力和动手能力。

During the opening ceremony, three science teachers dressed in lab coats presented fascinating science experiments to the students. In the liquid nitrogen volcano experiment, the mixture of liquid nitrogen with hot water and detergent caused an eruption of foam and steam. The flame palm experiment made the students even more excited, and the teacher put his hand into the flame but was unscathed. The air cannon experiment visually demonstrated the mystery of aerodynamics, and the teacher used a simple device made of plastic bottles and balloons to launch balloons through compressed air, allowing students to experience the fun of science experiments. In the interaction between the teachers and the students, they patiently answered questions and explained the experimental principles in detail, which not only enriched the students’ scientific knowledge, but also exercised their observation, thinking and practical skills.

最后，在全校师生的热切注视下，孙晓萌老师揭晓了第9至第10周荣获“金海豚“荣誉的班级名单，为升旗仪式增添了一份荣耀与激励。

At the end of the assembly, Ms Sun Xiaomeng announced the list of classes that won the honor of “Golden Dolphin“ in the 9th to 10th weeks, adding a glory and encouragement to the flag-raising ceremony.

亲爱的老师们，同学们：

大家早上好！今天我们在庄严的国旗下，共同迎接一个特别而意义深远的活动——万科双语学校第七届科学活动周。

Dearest teachers and students,

Good morning. We’re standing under the solemn national flag, welcoming a special and profound event -- the 7th Science Week if VBS.

在这一周的科学活动里，我们将围绕着“科创筑梦 照亮未来”的主题，通过科学工作坊、科普学习、科创比赛、科学体验、科技讲座、科学创想秀、科学知识竞赛等多种形式，近距离接触前沿科技，体验科学的乐趣。

In this week’s science activities, we will focus on the theme of “Science and Technology Builds Dreams and Illuminates the Future”. Students will get close to cutting-edge science and technology and experience the fun of science through science workshops, popular science learning, science and technology competitions, science experience, science and technology lectures, science and creativity shows, science knowledge competitions and so on.

2024年，人类科技实现了许多重大突破。人工智能（AI）技术取得了前所未有的发展，成为推动全球经济增长的重要力量。绿色科技也在迅速进步，谷歌的DeepMind AI通过优化数据中心操作，成功降低了40%的能耗，而IBM的食品信任项目则利用区块链技术促进了可持续采购。航天领域也屡创佳绩，嫦娥六号在月球背面的南极-艾特肯盆地成功着陆，并完成了月壤与月岩采样任务，这标志着人类首次在月球背面完成采样。在载人航天方面，神舟十九号载人飞船成功对接中国空间站，与神舟十八号航天员顺利会师，为我们展示了中国在航天技术上的新高度。

In 2024, many major breakthroughs have been made in human science and technology. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has made unprecedented progress and has become an important force driving global economic growth. Green technology is also advancing rapidly, with Google’s DeepMind AI successfully reducing energy consumption by 40% by optimizing data center operations, and IBM’s Food Trust project, which leverages blockchain technology to promote sustainable procurement.Chang’e-6 successfully landed in the South Pole-Aitken Basin on the far side of the Moon and completed the lunar soil and rock sampling mission, marking the first time that humans have completed sampling on the far side of the Moon. In terms of manned spaceflight, the Shenzhou-19 manned spacecraft successfully docked with China’s space station and successfully met with the Shenzhou-18 astronauts, demonstrating China’s new heights in space technology.

同学们，作为万双的未来少年，在这个信息爆炸、技术日新月异的时代，我们不仅要学会使用科技，更要学会创造科技，成为未来新时代的重要参与者。这就要求我们在成长过程中，不仅要有卓越的学习能力，更要具有批判性思维和解决问题的能力，以及勇于尝试、敢于创新的精神。让我们以这次科学活动周为契机，勇敢地迈出探索的步伐，点燃心中的科学梦想。

As the future teenagers of VBS, in the age of information explosion and rapid technological change, we must not only learn to use technology, but also learn to create science and technology, and become an important participant in the future. This requires us to have not only excellent learning ability, but also critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the courage to try and innovate in the process of growth. Let’s take this Science Week as an opportunity to take the courage to explore and ignite the scientific dream in our hearts.
