万双网讯  “少年志燃奥运光，坚毅如矢穿云霄。”在万科双语学校，我们坚信毅力是冠军的DNA，是站在未来中央的核心密码。2024年10月21日至10月25日，“奥运之光，坚毅前行”VBS奥林匹克周暨第七届田径运动会成功举办，全校56个班级的1500余名师生齐心协力，拼搏与荣耀交织，汗水与热泪并存，惊喜与感动轮番上演，共同编织了一幅激情四溢的竞技画卷。

“Youth ignites the Olympic light, steadfast like arrows piercing the sky.”At Vanke Bilingual School, we firmly believe that perseverance is part of a champion’s DNA, an essential quality for standing at the center of the future. From October 21 to October 25, 2024, the “Light of the Olympics, Persevering Forward” VBS Olympic Week and the 7th Athletic Track and Field Meet was successfully conducted. Over 1,500 teachers and students from 56 classes worked together, with struggle and glory, sweat and tears, and surprises that unfolded at every turn, collectively forming a vibrant spirit of competition.

10月21日，万科双语学校2024奥林匹克周启动仪式及开幕式在学校操场举行。本届奥林匹克周以VBS班级含义及万双教学理念为核心主题，旨在彰显学校的培养（成长）目标：培养(成为)身体健康、人格健全、学力卓越，具有家国情怀和国际视野， 敢于创造美好未来的中国公民。

On October 21, Vanke Bilingual School held the opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympic Week on the school playground. This year’s Olympic Week centered on the significance of VBS classes and the educational philosophy of Vanke, aiming to highlight the school’s developmental goals: to become citizens of China with good physical health, sound personality, excellent academic abilities, patriotism, with international vision and the courage to create a better future.

在6E班何翊嘉同学演奏的《我和我的祖国》激昂的小号声中，各班级学生代表依次传递着鲜艳的五星红旗，重现了北京冬奥会开幕式上的庄严场景。鲜艳的五星红旗在操场上熠熠生辉，久久闪耀。奥林匹克周启动仪式的揭幕环节精彩绝伦，得以完美呈现。这一庄重肃穆的仪式，不但展现出同学们的团结协作精神，更象征着奥林匹克精神的传承与弘扬。

As the stirring sound of 6E He Yijia’s trumpet playing“My Country and I” echoed through the air, student representatives from each class passed the bright five-star red flag down a row, recreating the solemn scene from the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The bright five-star flag shone brilliantly on the playground, radiant in the dawn. The unveiling segment of the Olympic Week opening ceremony was spectacularly presented, showcasing the students’ spirit of teamwork and cooperation, while symbolizing the promotion of the Olympic spirit.

随后，象征“奥运圣火”的火炬开启了一段充满奇幻色彩的旅程。1G班的李国彰同学作为首位火炬手，庄严地擎起火炬，启动了这场意义非凡的传递仪式。接着，来自不同年级的另外8名热爱运动的同学在田径场上接力传递，每一次交接都让参与的人群更加壮大，汇聚成一股强大的力量。最终，火炬传递至本届运动会的主火炬台，在全场的瞩目下，杨帆校长与火炬手们一同点燃了圣火，象征着奥林匹克精神在万双熠熠生辉。这一刻，不仅点燃了运动的激情，也照亮了学生们坚毅向前的道路，激励着每一位VBS学子在接下来的运动会上以饱满的热情和坚定的意志，追求卓越，勇往直前。

Subsequently, the torch, symbolizing the “Olympic Flame,” embarked on a journey around the track. Li Guozhang from Class 1G, the first torchbearer, solemnly raised the torch, initiating the ceremony’s relay run. Along the way, eight other enthusiastic students from various grades took turns running with the torch on the athletic track. With each passing of the torch, the crowd of runners grew larger, ultimately forming a powerful force. The relay culminated in front of the main Olympic beacon of this year’s sports meeting. Principal Yang Fan, along with the torchbearers, ignited the sacred flame, symbolizing the brilliance of the Olympic spirit at Vanke. At that moment the path to success was ignited for the students and inspiring everyone to pursue excellence with full enthusiasm and determination in the upcoming sports meeting.

在开幕式致辞中，杨帆校长深刻阐述了奥林匹克精神——“更快、更高、更强、更团结”（"Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together"）的内涵。她强调，这不只是一句口号，而是追求卓越、勇于挑战、团结互助的价值观的体现。她告诉同学们：奥林匹克周是一个展现个人才能、团队协作的重要平台，同时也是一个促进体育技能交流和加深同学间友谊的绝佳机会。她呼吁学生们意识到锻炼身体的重要性，培养对运动的热爱，提升体育技能，锻造团队精神，强健体魄，为站在未来中央作好准备。

In her opening speech, Principal Yang Fan elaborated on the essence of the Olympic spirit— “Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together.” She emphasized that this is not just a slogan but a reflection of the values of pursuing excellence, facing challenges, and fostering teamwork. She told the students that Olympic Week is an important platform for showcasing individual talents and teamwork, as well as a great opportunity to promote the development of athletic skills and deepen friendships among students. She called on students to recognize the importance of physical exercise, cultivate a love for sports, enhance their athletic skills, foster team spirit, and prepare themselves to stand confidently at the center of the future.

当日下午2时，VBS2024奥林匹克周暨第七届田径运动会的开幕式盛大开启。今年的方阵汇演巧妙地将不同年级但班名相同的班级集结一堂，万双学子以其独有的风范，共同绘制出一幅生动的教育图景，将对学校的教育理念及班级含义的理解演绎得淋漓尽致。他们的入场式主题鲜明且多样化，从科技前沿的运动项目到中华五千年文化的精髓，从洋溢着少年朝气的风采到对未来的无限憧憬与梦想，全方位、多维度地展现了万双学子的体育精神和运动风貌。

At 2 PM that afternoon, the opening ceremony of the VBS 2024 Olympic Week and the 7th Athletics Games commenced. This year’s parade grouped classes with the same letter from different grades, allowing Vanke students to collaborate with new friends, embodying their understanding of the school’s educational philosophy and the significance of their class names. Each entrance was characterized by distinct and diverse themes, ranging from cutting-edge technology to the history of 5,000 years of Chinese culture. The colorful display radiated youthful energy and reflected their hopes and dreams for the future, showcasing sportsmanship and athletic prowess at Vanke Bilingual School.

秋日之战，汗洒赛场，在为期四天的比赛中，小运动员们在45个项目比拼中一次次突破自我。另外，14个项目（包括200米跑，1500米跑，跳高等）打破校运会纪录，破纪录学生37人次。小运动员们在赛场上全力以赴、奋勇争先，呈现出激情与速度碰撞的实力对决，展现出“更快、更高、更强、更团结”的奥运精神和出色的竞技状态。

In the cool autumn, sweat poured on the field. During the four-day competition, the young athletes continually pushed their limits across 45 events. In addition, students in 14 separate events (including the 200-meter run, 1500-meter run, high jump, etc.) set new school records, with 37 total broken records. The young athletes gave their all on the track, fiercely competing and demonstrating their passion and speed. They embodied the Olympic spirit of “Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together” and showcased outstanding athletic performances.

攀岩，这项运动堪称是体育与艺术的完美融合，不仅涵盖了丰富的身体动作，更是对个人心理素质的考验。万科双语学校第三届“攀无止尽”攀岩比赛吸引了222名学生参与，比赛项目包括班级接力赛和年级争霸赛。一至九年级的每个年级都选出了最强选手参加年级争霸赛（淘汰制速度赛）。历经激烈的角逐，最终脱颖而出的选手分别是：9E 班的刘思恩、3F 班的高自江、7I 班的张璟源、4G 班的吴芮颖、6O 班的罗俊杰、5E 班的胡逸航、1O班的的伍宸翰以及 2E 班的张伯仑。

Rock climbing is a perfect blend of sports and artistic expression, encompassing a wide range of physical movements while also testing your resilience. The third “Endless Climbing” competition at Vanke Bilingual School had 222 student participants, with events including class relay races and grade championship contests. Each grade from first to ninth selected their strongest competitors to participate in the grade championship (an elimination speed race). After intense competition, the standout competitors were Liu Sien from Class 9E, Gao Zijiang from Class 3F, Zhang Jingyuan from Class 7I, Wu Ruiying from Class 4G, Luo Junjie from Class 6O, Hu Yihang from Class 5E, Wu Chenhan from Class 1O, and Zhang Bolun from Class 2E.

然而，此次活动的要义并非聚焦于名次的高低，而是旨在搭建一个交流互鉴、共同进步的平台，让同学们在攀岩的挑战中感悟体育的魅力，汲取成长的力量。

However, the essence of this event was not focused on the results, but rather aimed to create a platform for communication, mutual learning, and collective progress, allowing students to appreciate the charm of this sport and draw strength from the challenges of rock climbing.

作为全国攀岩特色校，经过7年的不懈努力和精心培育，万双的攀岩课程经历了从零起步到逐步完善的过程。无论是在攀岩课程的开发、教师团队的培养，还是在攀岩比赛中屡次获奖等方面，都取得了令人瞩目的进步。

As a school specializing in rock climbing, Vanke Bilingual School has made remarkable strides over its seven years of dedicated effort. The rock-climbing program has evolved from its inception to become a well-rounded curriculum, achieving significant advancements in course development, teacher training, and attaining numerous awards in climbing competitions.

Swimming Without Stopping, Pursuing Dreams Forward

在万双的恒温泳池中，小运动员们尽情展现着他们的活力与技巧。他们奋力挥臂，身姿矫健，在水池中激起浪花。本届游泳比赛吸引了三至九年级共计270人次的学生积极参与，经过4天的激烈角逐，3I吴易蔓、3I彭馨媛、3E庄一选、3G高润泽、4I郭景童、4V李芷沁、4G陈兆量、4E王佑宸、5O管礼娴、5V冯煦雅、5V朱舜安、6O张馨心、6G舒奕涵、7G武画雨、7G武诗晴、7I肖俊博、8D周然、8F黄智浩、8F李诺维、9E罗曼婷、9C黄子喻、9F张致远、9C唐子行共23名同学荣获个人项目冠军奖牌。他们不仅展示了自由泳的流畅、蛙泳的稳健、蝶泳的灵动和仰泳的优雅，更将运动的魅力表现得淋漓尽致。

In Vanke’s temperature-controlled swimming pool, young athletes showcased their vitality and skills to the fullest. They displayed agility while moving seamlessly in the water. The swimming competition had a total of 270 students from grades three to nine, who all actively participated. After four days of intense competition, 23 students won individual event championship medals, including Wu Yiman and Peng Xinyuan from 3I, Zhuang Yixuan  from 3E and Gao Runze from 3G, Guo Jingtong from 4I, Li Zhiqin from 4V, Chen Zhaoliang from 4G, Wang Youchen from 4E, Guan Lixian from 5O, Feng Xuyu and Zhu Shunan from 5V, Zhang Xinxin from 6O, Shu Yihan from 6G, Wu Huayu and Wu Shiqing from 7G, Xiao Junbo from 7I, Zhou Ran from 8D, Huang Zhihao and Li Nuowei from 8F, and Luo Manting from 9E, Huang Ziyu from 9C, Zhang Zhiyuan from 9F, and Tang Zixing from 9C. They all demonstrated fluidity with their freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly stroke, and backstroke skills.

At Vanke, swimming is a mandatory subject for every child. The school provides specialized instruction with the highest level of support, offering children an education that also teaches life skills. While promoting swimming ability in students, it also gives them awareness of drowning prevention and strengthens their ability to perform life-saving tasks.

本届羽毛球比赛吸引了众多选手参与，共有173人次的三至九年级的学生齐聚一堂，挥拍逐梦。在男子单打比赛中，小运动员们扣杀凌厉、网前技术细腻，每一拍都倾尽全力，3E班余劲驰、4V班石禹灏、5I班王梓睿、6O班周桐晖、7C班钟政东、8E班汪颢渊、9F班谢宇轩凭借出色的表现荣获男子单打该年级组冠军奖牌，而3F班荣茁希、4C班毛昭烨、5V班冯煦雅、6C班杨若愚、7I班赖洛欣、8E班江轶男、9E班刘嘉洁同学则在女子单打项目中技压群芳，同样将冠军奖牌收入囊中。

The badminton competition attracted many participants, with a total of 173 students from grades three to nine gathering together to pursue their dreams of being the champion. In the boys’singles matches, the young athletes showcased powerful smashes and delicate skills in front of the net, putting their all into every move. Yu Jinchi from Class 3E, Shi Yuhao from Class 4V, Wang Zirui from Class 5I, Zhou Tonghui from Class 6O, Zhong Zhengdong from Class 7C, Wang Haoyuan from Class 8E, and Xie Yuxuan from Class 9F earned the championship medals for their respective grade levels due to their outstanding performances. Meanwhile, Rong Zhaxi from Class 3F, Mao Zhaoye from Class 4C, Feng Xuya from Class 5V, Yang Ruoyu from Class 6C, Lai Luoxin from Class 7I, Jiang Yinan from Class 8E, and Liu Jiajie from Class 9E triumphed in the girls’ singles.

羽毛球是万双最受欢迎的运动课程之一，在5、6、8年级开设，孩子们在课堂上学习了专业技巧和战术。通过持续训练，他们不仅在技术和战术上取得显著进步，还在比赛中锻炼了心理素质，深化了对体育精神的理解，包括公平竞争和尊重对手等原则。

Badminton is one of the most popular sports courses at VBS, offered as classes in grades 5, 6, and 8, where children learn professional movements and tactics. Through continuous training, they have not only made significant progress in their technical and tactical abilities but also developed their mental resilience during competitions and deepened their understanding of sportsmanship, such as fair competition and respect for opponents.

棋逢对手 黑白争锋 

Chess rivals face off in a battle of black versus white

国际象棋与桥牌、围棋一同被誉为“世界三大智力运动”，不仅对身心健康有益，还能有效提升逻辑推理能力。在本届运动会中，共有185名选手报名参加国际象棋项目，其中6人荣获一年级组一等奖，10人荣获二三年级组一等奖，10人荣获四五年级组一等奖，10人荣获六七八年级组一等奖。

Chess, along with bridge and Go, is renowned as one of the “three major intellectual sports in the world.” It not only benefits mental health but also effectively enhances logical reasoning abilities. In this year’s sports meet, a total of 185 participants registered for the chess event. Among them, six students won first prizes in the first-grade group, ten in the second and third-grade groups, ten in the fourth and fifth-grade groups, and ten in the sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade groups.

赛场上，小小棋手们沉着冷静，认真思考，巧妙布局，展现了高超的竞技水平和良好的精神风貌。本次比赛中，有两名神秘高手走进赛场与孩子们展开激烈对弈——元萝卜智能国际象棋机器人，它们的到来让参赛选手们无比兴奋，为孩子们提供了与机器人对弈和互动的体验。这一创新举措吸引了众多孩子前来参与和驻足围观，让他们体验到人工智能在国际象棋运动中的运用，以及与机器人对弈的乐趣。

At the tables, the young chess players remained calm and focused, strategizing and displaying a high level of skill and good sportsmanship. This event featured two mysterious experts who were also engaged in intense matches with the children—the Yuanluobo Intelligent Chess Robots. Their presence thrilled the participants, offering them a unique opportunity to compete and interact with technology. This event attracted many spectators, allowing them to experience the application of artificial intelligence in chess and enjoy playing against the robots.

作为“广东省国际象棋特色学校”以及“广东省国际象棋后备人才竞训基地”，万双学校全力致力于推广国际象棋运动，已在一年级和二年级中普及了国际象棋课程。本次比赛检验了教学成果，见证了学生们在注意力和问题解决能力方面的显著提升，对学生健全人格的培育起到了积极作用。

As a “Chess Featured School in Guangdong Province ”and “Training Base for Chess Reserve Talents in Guangdong Province ," Vanke Bilingual School is dedicated to promoting chess. The chess curriculum has already been introduced in the first and second grades. This competition served as a testament to those educational outcomes, showcasing significant improvements in students’ problem-solving abilities and positively contributing to the development of their character.

在热闹非凡的运动会上，趣味项目无疑是学生们最为喜爱的部分，它们宛如神奇的魔法，总能瞬间激起学生们如熊熊烈火般的热情和强烈的参与欲望。今年的趣味项目可谓是五花八门，精彩纷呈，让人跃跃欲试。无敌射手、抓尾巴、羊角球、无敌风火轮、大脚鞋、真人保龄球等有趣的项目不仅让同学们在紧张忙碌、充实繁重的学习之余得以放松身心，舒缓压力，更是在欢声笑语、其乐融融中培养了同学们的团队精神，增进了同学之间的深厚友谊。

During the lively sports event, the fun-time activities were undoubtedly the students’ favorite part. They instantly ignited the students’ enthusiasm, and gave them a strong desire to participate. This year’s fun activities were diverse and exciting. Events such as “Invincible Shooter,” “Tug-of-War,” “Javelin Ball, “Invincible Fire Wheel,” “Big Shoes,” and “Human Bowling” not only allowed classmates to relax amid their busy study schedules but also promoted teamwork and the deepening of friendships through laughter and joy.
