万双网讯 2023年10月23日，万科双语学校2023-2024第一学期第九周升旗仪式暨2023奥林匹克周启动仪式及开幕式在学校操场举行。

VBS Net News On October 24, 2023, the flag-raising ceremony of the ninth week of the first semester of 2023-2024 at Vanke Bilingual School and the launching ceremony and opening ceremony of the 2023 Olympic Week were held in the school playground.

本周升旗仪式由8E班、8F班承担。两个班级都是团结进取、富有青春活力的班集体。仪式由8E班童婳和8F班林思源主持。8E班胡栩墨、8F班倪政做了国旗下讲话。他们演讲的题目是“铭记历史，勇创未来”，希望同学们铭记抗美援朝历史，争做时代新人。

This week's flag-raising ceremony was undertaken by Class 8E and Class 8F. Both classes are united, enterprising, and youthful groups. The ceremony was hosted by Tonghua from Class 8E and Lin Siyuan from Class 8F. Hu Xumo from Class 8E and Ni Zheng from Class 8F gave speeches under the national flag. The title of their speech was "Remember the History and Create the Future Bravely". They hoped that the students would remember the history of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea and strive to become new people of the times.

演讲结束后，VBS2023年奥林匹克周启动仪式正式举行。此次奥林匹克文化周的主题是万双“亚运会”之“心心相融@向未来”。奥运会有一个特别的传统，那就是点燃火炬。当天担任火炬手的有学生代表王梓烁、教师代表Dima、总裁判长陈志航、机器人万小双，他们共同点燃了圣火。王梓烁同学曾获得2023年全国攀岩希望之星系列赛（华南赛区）获得U11难度冠军，2023全国青少年U系列攀岩联赛重庆九龙坡站获得U11攀石冠军，2023年广东省青少年攀岩锦标赛全能冠军等荣誉。教师代表Dima 在2020和2021年获得了深圳国际外国人足球联赛和杯赛冠军，2022年获得了福田杯足球赛冠军及最佳射手，2023年获得了珠海国际足球公开赛MVP。

After the speech, the VBS 2023 Olympic Week launch ceremony was officially held. The theme of this Olympic Culture Week is "Heart-to-Heart Harmony@Toward the Future" of the Asian Games. The Olympic Games has a special tradition, which is lighting the torch. The torchbearers that day were student representative Wang Zishuo, teacher representative Dima, chief referee Chen Zhihang, and robot Little VBSer（Wan Xiaoshuang）, who lit the torch together. Wang Zishuo has won the U11 difficulty championship in the 2023 National Rock Climbing Hope Star Series (South China Division), the U11 rock climbing championship in the Chongqing Jiulongpo Station of the 2023 National Youth U Series Rock Climbing League, and the all-around championship in the 2023 Guangdong Youth Rock Climbing Championships. Teacher representative Dima won the Shenzhen International Foreign Football League and Cup championships in 2020 and 2021, the Futian Cup football championship and top scorer in 2022, and the Zhuhai International Football Open MVP in 2023.

杨帆校长在致辞中说道，点燃圣火的传统源自古希腊，它代表着体育精神的传承。在杭州亚运会上，中国获得201枚金牌，创下亚运历史最佳成绩，展示了中国特色，亚洲风采。本次奥林匹克文化周开幕式各班级代表亚洲国家入场，希望同学们团结、拼搏，养成乐观、坚毅的品质，合理分配好运动与学习的时间，创造最好的运动成绩和学习成绩。

Principal Yang Fan said in his speech that the tradition of lighting the torch originated from ancient Greece and represents the inheritance of sports spirit. At the Hangzhou Asian Games, China won 201 gold medals, setting the best result in the history of the Asian Games and demonstrating Chinese characteristics and Asian style. At the opening ceremony of this Olympic Culture Week, each class represented Asian countries. I hope the students will unite and work hard, develop optimistic and perseverant qualities, reasonably allocate time for exercise and study, and create the best sports and academic performance.

当天下午2点，2023奥林匹克周暨第六届田径运动会开幕式隆重举行。58个班级代表亚洲48个亚洲国家和地区，穿上多姿多彩的服装，载歌载舞，展示各国风俗和传统。活动中，同学们深入地了解亚洲各国的历史、地理、经济和政治，扩展了国际视野，增强了对世界的理解和尊重，成长为具有开放、包容和全球意识的新一代。

At 2 p.m. that day, the opening ceremony of the 2023 Olympic Week and Sixth Track and Field Games was held grandly. The 58 classes, representing 48 Asian countries and regions in Asia, put on colorful costumes, sang and danced, and displayed the customs and traditions of various countries. During the activities, the students gained an in-depth understanding of the history, geography, economy and politics of Asian countries, expanded their international horizons, enhanced their understanding and respect for the world, and grew into a new generation with openness, tolerance and global awareness.

七十三年前，朝鲜战争残酷的战火里闪耀着中国战士浴血奋战的身影；七十三年后，我们重新回忆那段峥嵘岁月，从抗美援朝精神中寻求养分，向着更大的挑战前行。

Seventy-three years ago, in the brutal flames of the Korean War, Chinese soldiers were fighting in the bloody battle. Seventy-three years later, when we recall that period of eventfulness , we can seek nutrients from the spirit of resisting the United States and helping North Korea, and move forward toward greater challenges.

在二战结束后，美国试图通过战争来维护自己的霸权。朝鲜战争爆发后，美国不仅对朝鲜进行了军事打击，还试图通过政治、经济、文化等多种手段来控制朝鲜。而中国作为一个刚刚站起来的国家，面临着巨大的困难和挑战。为了保卫国家的主权和领土完整，中国人民志愿军毅然决然地踏上了抗美援朝的征程。历时两年零九个月的抗美援朝战争，中华儿女用热血铸就了史卷上一寸山河一寸血的悲壮长歌，中国人民志愿军共毙、伤、俘敌数十万人。这场战争以美国侵略者从鸭绿江边被打回到三八线而宣告结束。

After the end of World War II, the United States tried to maintain its hegemony through war. After the outbreak of the Korean War, the United States not only carried out military strikes against North Korea, but also tried to control North Korea through political, economic, cultural and other means. China, as a country that has just stood up, faces enormous difficulties and challenges. In order to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, the Chinese soldiers resolutely set foot on the journey of resisting the United States and aiding North Korea. After two years and nine months of the war to resist the United States and aid North Korea, the Chinese created a wonderful picture with their lives in history. At the end of the war, the Chinese soldiers killed and captured hundreds of thousands of enemies. The war ended when the American invaders were driven back from the Yalu River to the 38th parallel.

在抗美援朝的过程中，中国人民志愿军展现出了无比英勇和顽强的精神。他们面对着强大的敌人，面对着恶劣的环境和条件，始终坚持自己的信仰和追求。他们用自己的鲜血和生命谱写了一曲壮丽的凯歌。

In the process of resisting the United States and aiding North Korea, the Chinese soldiers showed the spirit of bravery and strength. They always adhered to their beliefs and pursuits when they were facing powerful enemies, harsh environments and conditions.With their blood and their lives, they created a magnificent song of triumph.

在今天的世界中，和平与发展已经成为时代主题。但是，我们不能忘记历史，不能忘记那些为了保卫祖国、保卫和平、维护国家安全而英勇牺牲的人们。让我们一同铭记抗美援朝历史，争做时代新人。

Nowadays, peace and development have become the theme of The Times.
