万双网讯 2023年5月15日，万科双语学校2022-2023第二学期第十五周升旗仪式在学校操场举力。本周升旗仪式主持由4C班和4D班承担。4C班是一个 团结合作、积极主动的集体；4D班是一个奋发向上、充满朝气的班集体。

我们都知道五月的第二个星期天是母亲节，那你们知道五月的第三个星期天是什么节日吗？ 对的，是“全国助残日”。

We all know that the second Sunday in May is Mother's Day, but do you know what the third Sunday in May is? Yes, it is "National Day for Helping the Disabled".

今年5月21日是我国第33个法定“全国助残日”。

May 21 this year marks the 33rd statutory National Helping Day.

同学们，我们是幸福的，我们能够欢快地歌唱，能够愉快地追跑，还能在美丽的校园里读书……然而，在我们身边，还有许许多多的残疾人，他们的痛苦是我们无法想象的。

Students, we are happy. We can sing happily, can run happily, and can study in the beautiful campus...However, around us, there are many disabled people, their pain is unimaginable.

你们知道吗？截止到2022年，我国残疾人的总数已超过8500万人！

You know what? By 2022, the total number of disabled people in China has exceeded 85 million! 

残疾人是社会的一员，这个特殊而困难的群体，需要全社会的理解、尊重、关心和帮助。

The disabled are members of society, a special and difficult group that needs the understanding, respect, care and help of the whole society.

在我们万双也存在一群热心公益的志愿者们，他们利用自己的业余时间，帮助社会各界需要帮助的人。比如，2019年，我校外教Mark先生担当“Hello Longhua！益起跑”活动的志愿者；2019年10月，我校全体师生捐赠了45箱衣物到青海省玉树州曲麻莱县搓池村寄宿制小学，为那里的孩子们送去温暖；2022年1月9日至2月28日，我校成立先锋志愿者服务队，31批志愿者共137人次参与到民治街道志愿服务中。
