万双网讯 “Come and play! Our games are interesting!” 3月3日,万科双语学校五年级英语组开展了主题为“Classic Games Carnival”的PBL项目式学习。学生们有序地游走在不同的课室间,组织并参与到不同的经典游戏中。


“Come and play! Our games are interesting!” On the March 3rd, The English teachers of Grade 5 from Vanke Bilingual School carried out the PBL themed “Classic Games Carnival”.Students walking around classrooms organized and took part in different classic games.

基于第一单元的学习内容“Games in the past and present”,孩子们创建了PBL研究课题——探索游戏的过去与现在。项目正式启动后,每个班按学习小组,通过调查问卷的方式了解父母或者爷爷奶奶当年玩的游戏,并讨论商定一种经典游戏进行深入研究。

 

Based on the learning content of Unit One----Games in the past and present, the children created a PBL research project,exploring the games in the past. After the launch of the project, each learning group did surveys on the games their parents or grandparents used to play and came to an agreement for in-depth research.

他们通过查找资料,了解游戏的历史和玩法,接着头脑风暴并创新规则,赋予游戏新的生命。孩子们讨论得热火朝天,分工明确。创新的游戏规则,让人更加期待项目展示环节!

 

They searched for information and understood the history and the rules of  games, and innovated rules after brainstorming. The children had a lively discussion and a clear division of labor. Innovative game rules made them look forward to the project display!

展示与交流

Project Exhibition

 

项目成果以“游戏嘉年华”摊位的形式进行展示。每个小组在自己的摊位上,以各种形式展示了游戏的起源、发展、种类等,介绍了创新的游戏规则,并设置了游戏互动体验环节。每组成员通过积极合作,共同完成本组摊位的运营工作,包括布置摊位、设计互动环节、展讲、宣传等。同时,每位同学都会进行跨班级的交流与学习,去参观并体验其他组的游戏摊位。

 

The project outcomes are displayed in the "Classic Games Carnival" activity. Each group displayed their findings about a certain classic game, in terms of its origin, development, types, innovative game rules, and setting up interactive sessions. Through cooperation, every group member successfully completed the display of their game stalls, including setting up the areas, presenting their work, designing game rules, interacting with audiences, etc. At the same time, all students have chances to participate in other game stalls across 8 classes. They experienced various games and learned from other groups.

Sophia: I think this project is very meaningful. It can help us learn more about the history and culture of our traditional games.

 

黄艺铭:原本我以为这些复古游戏会很无趣,但通过这次研究,我发现实际上它们也有许多好玩之处,玩法可以有很多,这些复古游戏也会让我感到很兴奋

 

Nio:I thought the classic games would be boring,but through this project,I realize that they are actually really fun.There are a lot of ways to play and they are very exciting.

 

叶一帆:这次项目研究让游戏和学习融为一体,既让我学会了玩一些游戏,也让我有了更多和老师、同学交流的机会。没有电子产品也可以玩得很开心。

 

Fan:This research project integrated games and study,which not only allowed me to learn to play different games, but also gave me more opportunities to communicate with teachers and classmates.I can also have a great time without electronic devices.

 

朵拉老师:我非常喜欢五年级学生组织的活动!他们非常有创造力,将旧游戏进行改良创新,制定自己的规则,变成一个新游戏!我发现在学生中最流行的游戏是抽陀螺。这个游戏需要你有相当足的耐心。我喜欢和同学们一起玩的游戏是五子棋!

 

Miss Dora:I absolutely loved the activity organized by Grade 5 students!They were very creative when it comes to making their own rules for old games, or completely making a new game from scratch!I noticed the most popular game was the ancient version of fidget spinners - tops. It seems that you need to be quite patient for it. I enjoyed playing the games with the students, and my favorite was - gobing !!

 

艾瑞克老师:游戏嘉年华举办得很成功!所有的教室都被活跃的氛围所包围,游戏充满了乐趣,大家的脸上充满了欢笑。五年级的学生们开设了不同游戏的摊位,他们都做得很好。他们教别人如何玩,并鼓励他们勇于尝试。许多学生邀请我参加他们的活动。虽然我不擅长任何一项游戏,但我在参与中和学生们交谈得非常开心。

 

Mr Eric:The carnival was a great success! All of the classrooms had a lively atmosphere; they were full of fun, games and plenty of laughter. The students who were running the different activities did an excellent job of teaching others how to play and encouraging them. I was invited by many students to participate in their activities, and although I was not very good at any of them, I had so much fun participating and talking with everyone.

 

布兰登老师:学生们做得很棒。我玩得很开心。我期待明年再去一次游戏嘉年华!

 

Mr Brandon:The students did a fantastic job. I had a lot of fun. I look forward to going to the game carnival again next year!

 

本次英语PBL项目式学习,学生将课内知识融合到实践当中,在做中学、玩中学,充分激发了创新能力和学习兴趣,锻炼了英语口语表达、合作、沟通、批判性思维的能力。

 

Through this English PBL, students reviewed knowledge about classic games--learned the background, and comprehended the rules. It helped them realize what they’ve learned in class. Learning during practicing and playing, the activity activated students’ creativity and improved their speaking skills in English.
