万双网讯  让读书点亮人生，让理想照耀未来。 2021年9月1日上午，万科双语学校1201名学生神采飞扬来到美丽的校园，开启了新学期崭新的学习篇章。同时，VBS2021-2022第一学期第一周升旗仪式暨开学典礼在学校操场隆重举行。

VBS News Net: On the morning of September 1, 2021, the first flag-raising assembly and the new semester opening ceremony were held in the school playground. 1201 students of VBS came to the beautiful campus, starting their new journey.

本周升旗仪式由国旗班班承担。6C班於姝含和6D班任益百主持。杨帆校长以《勇攀高峰，让理想定格》为主题，做了新学期第一次演讲。胡宇闻老师做了同声传译。

The national flag class undertook the flag-raising assembly. Yu Hanshu from 6C and Ren Yibai from 6D co-hosted the assembly. Principal Yang Fan made her first speech in the new semester. Ms. Hu Yuwen did the simultaneous interpretation.

本学期，万科双语学校新增14个班级、367名新同学和73位新教职员工。全体六七年级新同学与老师击掌，阔步走向梦想启航的地方。

VBS will have 14 new classes, 367 new students, and 73 new teaching staff this semester. All the new students in Grade 6 and Grade 7 gave teachers high fives.

杨帆校长对新同学新老师表示了热烈的欢迎，同时希望全体同学树立目标，一直努力，不怕失败，积极参与学校开展的PBL项目式学习、社团等各项活动，通过拼搏，定格心中的理想。希望全体师生坚持终身成长的理念，成为最好的自己！

Principal Yang gave a warm welcome to the new students and teachers. At the same time, she hoped that all students would set goals, work hard, not be afraid of failure, actively participate in PBL, clubs, and other activities carried out by the school. She hoped that all teachers and students adhere to the concept of lifelong growth and become the best themselves!

升旗仪式结束后，学校在剧场为六年级和七年级新生举办了温馨的欢迎礼。杨帆校长向同学们详细介绍了万科双语学校的办学理念、课程设置、班名来历与学生成长目标，播放了由学生创作、老师作曲的校歌，强调学校将用丰富的课程为同学们打开一扇扇窗，为同学们提供生命丰富的养分，鼓励同学们参与万双的发展与建设，希望每一位同学都能在万双发展特长，快乐成长，成为身体健康、人格健全、学力卓越，具有国际视野和家国情怀，敢于创造美好未来的中国公民，乐观、坚毅地的站在未来中央。

After the flag-raising assembly, the school held a warm welcome ceremony for the new Grade 6 and Grade 7 students in the theater. Principal Yang introduced the philosophy, curriculum, and goals of Vanke Bilingual School. She also played the school song written by one of our students and composed by a teacher. She mentioned that the school would open a window for students with multiple courses and encourage students to participate in the development and construction of VBS. She hoped that every student could grow happily in VBS, become a Chinese citizen who possesses good health, sound personality, academic excellence, international horizons, patriotism, and the courage to create a better future.

随后，杨帆校长向每一位新同学赠送了象征希望与爱的太阳花，颁发了录取通知书。同学们纷纷走向舞台中央，大声说出自己的梦想，并将写梦想卡投入邮箱，邮寄给初中毕业时的自己。"我的梦想的是当科学家、发明家、作家、摄影师、奥运冠军、工程师、老板……我有梦，我要让梦想闪闪发光。"

Principal Yang also presented a sunflower symbolizing hope and love to each new student and issued an admission notice. The students went to the center of the stage, spoke out their dreams, put the dream card into the mailbox, and mailed it to themselves when they graduated from junior high school.

全面负责6-9学段管理工作的林红英校长助理希望同学们能掌握两项体育特长，一项艺术特长，在丰富的课程中努力学习，提升成绩。在学校和同学团结友爱，幸福生活，实现梦想。

Assistant principal Ms. Lin, responsible for the management of Grades 6-9, hoped that the students could learn two sports and study hard. Students should unite and care for their classmates, live a happy life, and realize their dreams.

一年级的萌娃们在老师的精心指导下，开启了全新的小学生活，班主任老师向同学们发放了太阳花和录取通知书。孩子们用各自不同的表达方式"画出了自己的梦想"。

Under the teachers' guidance, the children in Grade 1 started their new primary school life. The headteacher issued sunflowers and admission notices to the students. The children painted their dreams with different expressions.

新学期，祝愿每一位孩子的梦想都能在这里生根发芽，每一朵花儿都能绽放出最美的光华，万科双语学校将给予孩子们最高规格的教育陪伴。

Dear teachers and students,

新学期好！真开心我们又见面了！

Hello. I'm glad we meet again.

上个学期，初中有48位同学毕业了，他们用自己的努力取得了优异的成绩，开开心心地升入了理想的高中！相信他们会更努力地快乐成长！他们留给各位同学的宝贵精神财富是：树立目标，一直努力，不怕失败。希望同学们向他们学习。

Last semester, 48 students graduated from our school. They got the excellent grade and entered their ideal high school. I believe that they will work hard and grow happily in the future. What they left for you is the spirit of setting up a goal, working hard, and never being afraid of failure. I hope you can learn from them.

这个学期，又有367名新同学和73位新教职员工来到万科双语学校学习和工作，请新老师和新同学挥挥手，让我们用热烈的掌声欢迎他们！万双是特别友爱互助的地方，新同学和老师遇到困难一定记得求助，会得到最好的帮助。

去年的9月1日，我们为能顺利返校而欢呼。今天，我们国家的疫情已经得到有效控制，突发疫情也已经有效控制，但全球疫情还远远没有过去，所以全体师生一定要严格按照疫情防控要求，在上学放学路上佩戴口罩，不到人多的地方，勤洗手。在校内有不舒服，及时报告老师或校医。

Dear students, teachers, VBS is a place that students, teachers, and parents grow together. 这个学期，1-8年级同学又要开始新一期PBL研究性学习了。PBL是Project-Based Learning的简称，有道电子词典上翻译成汉语就是项目学习、基于项目的学习或者也可以叫研究性学习、项目教学法。项目是什么，就是针对问题做的一系列的研究，最后形成结论。举个例子，现在全世界都重视环保，我们万科双语学校也不例外。那么万科双语学校如何实现环保呢？除了节约用水、节约用电之外，我们就想到了要尽量少产生垃圾，于是就有了"零废弃校园建设"的项目。就是控制垃圾的产生，同时使产生的垃圾得到有效利用。这可是一件大事！这件大事就交给老师和同学们来做了，这就是上学年我们的PBL。比如节约白板笔、废纸回收、厨余垃圾堆肥等等主题，这中间老师和同学们就要去查资料、做实验、写论文……学会收集资料、整理资料、写作、演讲、实验等等能力。所以PBL既是老师的教学法，也是学生的学习法。这些方法正是老师教学、学生上学要学习的呢！

This semester, grades 1 to 8 will start new PBL projects. PBL is the short form of project-based learning. What is a project? It is a series of studies to solve a problem. For example, now the world is discussing environmental issues, as well as our school. How do we solve environmental problems? Except for saving water and electricity, we think of reducing wastes, so we have zero-waste projects. We reduce the production of trash and make full use of wastes. That's a big thing. This big thing was done by students, which was the PBL projects last year. Our topic included saving whiteboard markers, recycling paper, composting. You developed skills such as collecting information, writing, making speeches, and making experiments when you searched for information, made experiments, and wrote the thesis. PBL is not only a way of teaching but also a way of learning.

所以，我希望全体老师和学生都重视PBL，通过PBL提升你们的学习力和教学能力，将其中学到的方法运用到学科教学和学习中去，让老师更爱教，学生更爱学。希望将来有一天，我们的课堂都是PBL形式的！

I hope all of you can attach importance to PBL, improve your learning and teaching ability via PBL, and use them in your own teaching and learning. Teachers will love teaching, and students will love learning. I wish one day in the future that all classes are taught in the way of PBL.

这个学期开始，九年级的同学就进入冲刺阶段了。中考不可怕，因为你们有团结拼搏的同伴，有水平高又有爱的老师，有爱学习共成长的家长，你们还有上一届学长的经验，放心吧！请记住：树立目标，一直努力，不怕失败。从今天开始，像攀岩一样，付出努力，一步步靠近目标，最后拍下计时器的触控板，自信地让这一阶段的理想定格。祝福你们通过努力，实现心中的理想！

From this semester, grade 9 students will enter the final stretch.
