Year 2020 has been painful for educators due to the coronavirus outbreak.

为了让万小双健康成长，在杨帆校长的带领下，万科双语学校全体教职员工砥砺奋斗，风雨兼程，积极开展线上线下相结合的教学，多项举措全力保障校园安全，倾情呵护每一个孩子的未来。

Led by Principal Yang, all staff members worked hard for the development of students - by teaching both offline with online while implementing measures to keep campus safe.

2020 年9月，疫情渐趋平稳，万双又恢复了从前的活力，并以乘风破浪的姿态，成长型的思维，开启了创新教育的新里程。学校捷报频传，先后成为“5G先行示范校”、“深圳市儿童青少年近视防控试点学校”、 “广东省国际象棋后备人才竞训基地”。 杨帆校长荣膺龙华区优秀校长称号，郑世英校长助理荣获万科集团奋斗之星奖,郭鸾老师荣获龙华区教育系统优秀班主任奖。

As the outbreak settled, the school returned to its normal state in September 2020 - vibrant, innovative with growth mentality. The school was honored to receive '5G pilot school', 'myopia prevention and control pilot school in Shenzhen', 'Young Talent Training Academy for Chess in Guangdong Province' awards. Principal Yang was awarded excellent principal in Longhua District, Assistant Principal Zheng was awarded star of diligence in Vanke Group and Ms. Glora Guo was awarded the excellent class teacher in Longhua District.

新的学期，336位同学和67位老师加入万双大家庭。目前全校共41个班级，师生员工共1133人。万双实现了跨越式的发展。

336 students and 67 teachers have joined the VBS family since the beginning of new semester. There are 41 classes with 1133 teachers and students in VBS which has realised the leap development.

教师是学校发展的灵魂，一群人为了同一个梦想而奋斗称为团队。2020年8月，万科双语学校教师职业发展学院正式开学，杨帆校长与全国著名教育家李镇西老师共同为学院揭牌。从此刻开始，万科双语学校全校教职员工在VBS展开了一场以终身成长为根本任务的学习的旅程。8月21日至26日，多位知名专家、教授、讲师莅临万科双语学校，为老师们开讲座，与老师们面对面。他们高屋建瓴，从宏观到微观，从理念到方法，从情怀到理论，从教师礼仪到正面管教，从创新教育到为师之道……让老师们醍醐灌顶，受益匪浅。

Teachers are the key to the school's development and they form the team for the same dream. VBS Academy for Teachers' Professional Development was founded in August 2020, Principal Yang and Mr. Li jointly inaugurated VBS Academy for Teachers' Professional Development. From this moment onwards, all staff members began their lifelong growth study track at VBS. Many experts and lectures arrived at VBS to give lectures to teachers on ideas, methods, theories, positive discipline and manners which inspired teachers.

在教师节表彰会上，郑世英老师、林红英老师、罗玉兰老师、辛红老师的教育故事深深感染了全体教师。他们均有超过30年的教龄，仍然坚守在教育一线，成为VBS的中流砥柱和学习的榜样。

The stories of Ms. Zheng, Ms. Lin, Ms. Luo and Ms. Xin were touching at Teachers' Day celebration - they were the salt of the earth at VBS with more than 30 years of teaching.

与此同时，集体备课、公开课、教研活动等有序开展。学校开展蓝青工程师徒结对活动，让每一位青年教师在老教师的专业指导下，获得更快的职业发展。

Grouped lesson planning, open classes, teaching and research activities were organised. Mentor partnering event allowed young teachers to learn quicker under the professional guidance.

万双努力建设学习型学校，给每位老师提供学习的平台，要求每位老师建立成长型的思维模式，相信通过坚持、努力和专心致志的学习，每个人的智力都会得以成长和发展，并以自己为榜样，引领学生的卓越成长。

As a school of learning model, VBS continues to give teachers a panel to study with consistency as they establish the growth mentality so that everyone can be an example for students to follow.

在万双，每一位新生都经历了终身难忘的入学洗礼。他们或在舞台上大声地说出自己的梦想；或在蔚蓝色的大海上乘风破浪；或在绿色军营里经历严格的军事训练；或在荒无人烟的岛上进行生存拓展体验……孩子们在大自然中锻炼体魄和心智，学会如何面对挫折和失败、学会如何独立与合作，养成乐观、坚毅、包容的特质。

Every new student has experienced a memorable enrolment ceremony. They either share their dreams on stage or brave the winds and waves in the sea, have military training, challenge themselves in islands. They learn to face setbacks, be independent and work with peers in nature to be optimistic, gritty and inclusive.

在校园，丰富的课程给予孩子们独特的体验。由世界冠军授课的游泳课正式开上，人工智能课、人生规划课、建筑课、万双云课、攀岩课等特色必修课程为孩子们打开了一扇扇窗，自主社团、选修课等为孩子们提供了个性特长发展的平台。目前，全校共93个社团，VBS未来少年卓越的领导力、交流与合作能力在活动中彰显。他们将在社团活动中进行自主管理、自主发展，交流思想，切磋技艺，互相启迪，增进友谊，涵养乐观、自信、包容的品格，并通过发展过程获得闯荡未来世界的激情和力量。

Students experience a variety of courses back in school. Taught by a swimming world champion, Swimming, AI, Life planning, Architecture, Cloud Lesson and Rock Climbing are compulsory for students to have a try when student socieities and electives give them space for personalised development. Currently there are 93 student societies as a result of students' leadership, ability to cooperate and communicate. They will manage, develop on their own when exchanging ideas, making new friends and gaining experience to live a life in future.

在万双开展的“零废弃生活”PBL项目中，全校学生在暑期展开了“零废弃生活”探索实践，并创作了无数优秀的作品：如“节电程序”、可以用芯片追踪的“饮料回收售卖一体机” 、液压平衡球迷宫游戏机等等……VBS学子为创造美好未来而勇于创新、敢为人先的探究精神，孩子们卓越的思维力、创造力与高度的社会责任感在活动中得到充分展示。

In PBL project 'Life with Zero Waste', students have explored this kind of life during their summer break with many excellent productions - power-saving app, trackable vendor machines, hydraulic pressure game gadgets etc. Students have demonstrated their exploratory, innovative spirits and the ability to think and create as well as a strong sense of social responsibility.

新的学期，万双校园设备设施更加完善。25米8泳道地下恒温游泳池投入使用，全新的图书馆即将开放，音乐、美术、建筑、舞蹈等功能教室更加专业，4个室内篮球馆让孩子不论风雨均能按时锻炼，小班化授课，为孩子们提供一流的学习环境和学习体验。

More facilities are put in use - indoor swimming centre, library, functional classrooms for Music, Art, Architecture and Dancing as well as 4 indoor basketball hall for students to exercise without weather interference. The small-sized class teaching offers a first-class learning environment and experience.

唯有对学生无私的爱，才有学生脸上荡漾着的灿烂笑容，才有老师们桌上学生们送的形形色色的鲜花和心意卡。万双是一个充满爱的校园。学校倡导正面管教，主张在理解、鼓励和沟通的基础之上解决问题。在这里，每一位老师的生日都会收到祝福，每一位家长都将在这里获得成长，每一位孩子的梦想都将闪闪发光。

With selfless love to students, students have smiles and send cards or flowers on teachers' desks. VBS is a campus with lots of love. The school advocates positive discipline and solve problems on the basis of understanding, encourgement and communication. Every teacher will receive birthday regards, every parent will progress as every student's dream will shine.

Principal Yang said, 'VBS is a big family and the common place for students, parents and teachers to grow. VBS sees education from a futuristic wisdom perspective and has the courage to innovate education with the ideology 'Teach for the unknown, study for the future'. It will implement Parents' Academy and Academy for Teachers' Professional Development to build a new model of future-oriented international school to prepare students for their future.

卢梭说：“什么是最好的教育？最好的教育就是无所作为的教育：学生看不到教育的发生，却实实在在地影响着他们的心灵，帮助他们发挥了潜能，这才是天底下最好的教育。”

Rousseau said,' What is the best education - the one you cannot see it in blind eyes, the one that students cannot see its happening but influence their minds, help them realise their potentials. This is the best education.'

漫步VBS校园, 随处可见的是孩子们脸上洋溢着的自信、从容、乐观，以及老师和孩子们其乐融融的画面。好多家长说，孩子到学校以后变得开心很多；好多孩子说，他们很喜欢上学，舍不得离开学校……这便是教育最朴素的意义吧。

Students gain confidence, optimism every day on campus with the occasion of teachers . Many parents see their children become more joyful once they study here as many of them love coming to the school and wish to stay longer. This is the significance of education.
