万双网讯  著名教育家李镇西老师说：“好的教育是几十年后师生回首当年共同热泪盈眶的教育。”为什么我们的眼里常含泪水，因为我们爱教育爱得如此深沉。2020年8月22日上午，万科双语学校全体教职员工齐聚学校剧场，在李镇西老师讲述的一个个动人心弦的教育故事中，数次热泪盈眶，接受了一次别开生面的心灵洗礼。同时，万科双语学校教师职业发展学院即日起正式成立。

VBS News Net: The eminent Educator Mr. Li Zhenxi said, 'Good education is the kind of education that students and teacher shed tears together after a few decades,' We have tears in our eyes because we love education so much. All VBS staff gathered at the school theatre to get touched and inspired by Mr. Li's touching stories in his teaching career. VBS Teacher Professional Development Academy was established at the same day.

Mr. Li: To make people feel happy because of me

李镇西老师，全国著名教育家，苏州大学教育哲学博士，语文特级教师。他从教数十年，桃李满天下，出版教育专著80余部。他的演讲引经据典，满怀激情，幽默风趣，用一个个朴实而丰满的案例，深入浅出地阐述了“什么是好的教育”。

As an eminent educator, Mr. Li had his PhD in Education Philosophy at Suzhou University while being a senior Chinese Language teacher. Having decades of teaching career, he published 80 books on education with students all over the world. His speech explained the elements of good education with classics quotation, humor, passion and his experience.

李老师指出，教育的首要任务是培养人，人是教育的最高价值，其次才是培养人才。好的校园、好的校长、好的老师就是好的教育；好的教育还应该是走进心灵的教育，把孩子放在心上的教育；好的教育是给孩子留下温馨记忆的教育，是尊重每一个孩子的教育；好的教育是既有出色分数，又有浪漫生活的教育；好的教育是孩子高考结束后不撕书的教育，是师生彼此依恋的教育，是每一个学生都拥有自信人生的教育，是几十年后师生回首当年共同热泪盈眶的教育。

Mr. Li pointed out that the primary objective of education was to nurture students as it would be the highest value in education which came before raising talents. Good education ought to have good campuses, principals and teachers who gave students good marks and life, memorable moments, care, respect, lifelong confidence. It was the kind of education that both students and teachers attachments and tears after a few decades.

在演讲中，李老师讲到了丑小鸭中学的校长詹大年如何将厌学逃学的网瘾少年转变为阳光自信的高中生，如何办家长放心的学校。

During his speech, Mr. Li mentioned Principal Zhan's stories - how he managed his school to relieve parents by turning their Internet addiction children into confident individuals.

他用自己几十的奋斗经历，告诉老师们如何成为一个好老师：即坚持不停的实践、不停地思考、不停地阅读、不停地写作。他鼓励老师们用一生的时间去寻找那个让自己吃惊的自己，博览群书，具有开阔的人文视野，把学生引向广阔的人文天地。

He spoke for his own experience on becoming a decent teacher - consistent practice, contemplation, reading and writing. He hoped teachers to find out the self that would  surprise you and encouraged teachers to read extensively to guide students into the broad world.

他指出，知识分子要有风骨，要有气节，要让周围的人因你而感到温暖。他说，每个孩子有100种可能，教育是要让人自信，而不是自卑。在他的学生中，有空姐、机长、足球教练、摇滚歌手、公司领导、司机……他很欣慰的是，他们都正直、善良、感恩……

He pointed out that teachers ought to have integrity and make people around you feel blessed as everyone student could have 100 possible paths to take on. Education should empower people with confidence instead of inferiority. His students eventually became a stewardness, pilot, football coach, rockstar, business leader or driver. What brought him comfort was that they were all kind, grateful and honest.

在他即将出差3个月的火车站上，孩子们追着火车送行……在他退休前的最后一堂课上，五湖四海的学生及家长们纷纷赶来，听他的最后一课。有些已然白发苍苍，依然专心致志，对老师的拳拳依恋镶嵌在他们写满沧桑的脸上……

As he was about to embark on his 3-month business trip, his students followed his train to send him off. Before his retirement, students arrived at the venue from all over the world with their parents to listen to his final class. Despite being aged, they still paid attention to Mr. Li just like the old days.

做学生依恋的好老师，让人们因他的存在而感到幸福，李镇西老师做到了。一个个鲜活的学生成长故事，让老师们感佩不已。李老师希望万科双语学校的老师们珍惜属于自己的星辰大海，永远和教育谈恋爱，把每一个琐碎的日子，铸造成伟大的人生。

Mr. Li had become the teacher that made people feel happy and attached to students. The stories of his students made the audience admired. Mr. Li hoped VBS teachers to stay in education sector for their entire career to make themselves great and cherish their own students.

会上，老师们踊跃发言，与李老师进行现场交流，表达自己内心受到的深刻触动。邓安妮老师现场落泪，表示自己将更加关注有问题的学生，让孩子自信地面对未来。

During the session, teachers proactively communicated with Mr. Li to express their thoughts. Ms. Deng Anni shed tears as she would pay more attention to students who required special assistance to make them feel optimistic towards future.

杨帆校长表示，自己在聆听李老师演讲过程中几度热泪盈眶，感谢李老师为万双带来这场报告，给全体教师指明方向——要热爱教育。每一位老师都是学生生命中的重要他人，希望老师们都像李老师一样，尊重人的发展规律，以全新的视角看待教育，“让人们因我的存在而感到幸福”。万科双语学校将努力建设学习型学校，通过教师职业发展学院为老师们提供学习的平台，像专家一样成长。

Principal Yang also had tears in her eyes a few times during Mr. Li's speech. She acknowledged Mr. Li for his speech which showed VBS staff the path they should follow - love education. Every teacher would be the important others for students, she hoped everyone to view education from a whole new perspective and respect the development patterns like Mr. Li to 'make people feel happy because of me'. VBS would continue to offer teachers a study platform via VBS Teacher Professional Development Academy to thrive like experts as it aimed to become a learning-oriented school..

会上，杨帆校长与李镇西老师共同为万科双语学校教师职业发展学院揭牌。

Principal Yang and Mr. Li jointly inaugurated VBS Teacher Professional Development Academy.

当天下午，万科双语学校教师职业发展学院全体学员分为16个班，在班长的组织下有序开展研究性学习。全体学员各抒已见，共同探讨如何成为最好的老师。各组学员代表分别汇报了学习心得。交流过程让老师们彼此激励，共同成长。

All members from VBS Teacher Professional Development Academy worked in 16 different classes to start research studies in the afternoon. They discussed on the ways to become the best teachers before making presentations. They motivated one another during the process.

罗玉兰老师表示要有激情、不断学习、乐观自信，做有温度、有情怀、有高度、积极、乐观的老师；

Ms. Luo Yulan said that teachers ought to have passion, consistent studies, optimism, confidence and she would be a caring, insightful, positive and optimistic teachers.

李晓燕老师表示要眼里有学生、有家长、有学校、有自己，将教育与生活有机地结合，用终身学习的心态面对生活；

Ms. Li Xiaoyan said she would care for students, parents, the school and herself to combine education and life when keeping the lifelong study mentality.

曹琛康老师表示要积极践行学校办学理念，深入挖掘学生潜能；

Mr. Cao Chenkang said he would implement school philosophies to realise students' potentials.

贺舒婷老师表示要做健康的老师，有学问的老师，勤思的老师，享受教师职业带来的幸福感；

Ms. He Shuting said she would enjoy the sense of happiness as a teacher when staying hungry and knowledgable.

唐红艳老师表示要做一个心中有爱、眼中有爱、行动中有爱，专业知识过硬的老师；

Ms. Tang Hongyan said she would be a professional teacher with love in actions and minds.

王新东老师表示要关注人的成长，给孩子浪漫的生活，卓越的分数，为有无限可能的孩子提供足够的养分；

Mr. Wang Xindong said he would focus on the growth of students and give his best to achieve good marks and wonderful life.

生活部的老师们表示要把学生当成自己的孩子，用爱心、耐心、责任心走进孩子的心；

Residential teachers expressed their love towards students and made them feel blessed.

行政后勤的老师们表示要关注细节，用热爱、奉献和善良，让我们互为光芒，彼此照耀……

Administration teachers would focus on details and contribute to the growth of students.

郑世英校长助理表示，希望全体员工在教师职业发展学院里展开阅读生活，以班集体为单位，共同成长。与此同时，每位员工都获得了学院第一本赠书《终身成长》。

Assistant Principal Ms. Zheng hoped everyone to read widely and thrive as a class. Every member received the first reading - Mindset.

本次培训会让全体员工对什么是好的教育有了更加深邃的领悟，为自己的职业规划寻觅到了更明晰的方向，焕发了老师们对教育事业的激情，点燃了老师们创造性学习的火花，为万科双语学校建设学习型学校、教师更快成长奠定了深厚的根基。

This training has given VBS staff ideas on good education, specified direction in their careers, inspired them to dedicate in education and motivated them to study innovatively when building a strong foundation in both teachers' development and VBS as a learning-oriented school.
