【STEAM】激活学生科学思维,像科学家一样成长——VBS打造工程与科学设计STEAM专题课程

万双网讯  为培养学生创新整合能力,激活学生科学思维,提升学生综合素养,5月9日-7月1日,万科双语学校STEAM专题课程——工程与科学设计在六年级学生中开展。本课程由科学、人工智能、数学、建筑四个学科的老师协作,历时2个多月共同探讨与实践完成。

In order to cultivate students' innovation and integration ability, activate students' scientific thinking, and improve students' comprehensive quality, from May 9th to July 1st, Vanke Bilingual School carried out a STEAM course named “Engineering and Science Design” among students of Grade 6. This course was jointly discussed and practiced by teachers of Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics and Architecture for more than 2 months.

本课程共设计了8个课时,主要分为五大部分

This course was designed with 8 classes, which was mainly divided into five parts.

 

第一部分,老师给孩子们介绍什么是科学家和工程师、科学在工程中的应用、数学在工程中的应用等前置知识,为接下来的学习作好铺垫。


For the first part, the teacher introduced students the pre knowledge of scientists and engineers, the application of Science in engineering, and the application of Mathematics in engineering, so as to pave the way for the next content.

第二部分,学生进行拉伸试验,使用拉力计,分别去测量四种材料的强度和弹性,并根据数据绘制图表,来验证孩子们一开始凭借生活经验、触摸等方式,对这四种材料的强度、弹性作出的猜想,直接感知数学在工程中的应用。


For the second part, students carried out tensile tests, used a tension meter to measure the strength and elasticity of four materials respectively, and drew charts according to the data, to verify the conjectures made by them on the strength and elasticity of these four materials according to students’ life experience or feeling in various ways at the beginning, so that they can directly perceive the application of Mathematics in engineering.

第三部分,通过使用makeymakey主控板,结合Scratch编程,利用湿橡皮泥弹奏音乐,让学生明白闭合电路才能形成电流,人体、湿橡皮泥都是良好的导体。


For the third part, by the usage of the makeymakey main control board combining with Scratch programming and wet plasticine to play music, it makes students understand that closed circuits can form current, and human body and wet plasticine are good conductors.

第四部分,孩子们开始了工程设计流程的学习,懂得了让产品更符合现实生活的要求。


For the fourth part, students began to learn the engineering design process and learned to make the products which can meet the requirements of real life.

 

第五部分,孩子们采用工程设计的思维模式,利用铅笔、橡皮筋、塑料勺、小木块、塑料杯等工具,制作精准性较好和能够远距离抛射的投石器


For the fifth part, students adopted the thinking mode of engineering design and used pencils, rubber bands, plastic spoons, small wooden blocks, plastic cups and other tools to make stone catapults with good accuracy and long-distance projection.

通过此次STEAM专题课程,孩子们在操作与实践中真切感受了工程设计的流程,学会了像科学家和工程师一样来思考,增强了学习的内驱力、想象力和创造力,对于助力学校培养21世纪的创新者、领导者和学习者具有重要作用。


Through this STEAM special course, students can really feel the process of engineering design in operation and practice, learn to think like scientists and engineers, enhance the internal drive of learning, imagination and creativity, which plays an important role in helping school cultivate innovators, leaders and learners in the 21st century.

本课程共设计了8个课时,主要分为五大部分
