In order to provide students with life-valued learning that students can be able to use "five senses" correctly to explore the world around them, the English teachers of Grade one from Vanke Bilingual School launched the PBL themed "Using My Five Senses" from June 2nd to June 10th .
本次英语学科PBL项目式学习的主题选自新魔法英语1B教材中“Using my five senses”模块,学生围绕这一主题进行学习和探究。
The theme of the PBL is selected from the module "Using my five senses" of New Magic English Book 1B and the study of students is based on this theme.

Exploration and Learning
项目启动前期,同学们在课堂上学习了本单元的核心词汇与句型,通过老师创设的各类情境理解了感官动词的使用方式。
Before the launch of the project, students learned the core vocabulary and sentence patterns of this unit in class and understood the use of sense verbs through various situations created by the teacher.
在学生熟悉了本单元的核心词汇与句型后,老师们根据学生的兴趣和认知水平,挑选出了十个贴近学生生活的场景供学生投票,其中包括:动物园、超市、游乐场、房间、公园、农场、学校、海边、餐馆、生日派对,每个班根据学生的投票情况挑选出了五个场景作为最终探索的场景。
When students are familiar with the core vocabulary and sentence patterns of this unit, teachers, according to students' interests and cognitive level, selected ten scenes closely relevant to students' life for students to vote for the project, including the zoo, the supermarket, the amusement park, the bedroom, the park, the farm, the school, the beach, the restaurant, and the birthday party. Each class finally had its five scenes as the topics for exploration based on students’ voting.

通过老师现场演示如何探索“购物中心”以及如何记录自己的探索结果,学生们确定了自己将要探索的场景,利用周末的时间,通过身临其境、想象、询问等方式,用“五感”(视觉、听觉、味觉、触觉、感觉)对周围世界进行探索、感受和记录。
Teachers showed students how to explore the shopping center and how to record the results of exploration. After that, students selected and confirmed the scenarios they would explore. Students would use their five senses to explore the specific surroundings and record the results by visiting the place, imagining by themselves or inquiring others on weekend.

探索结束,同学们用形式多样的海报记录了自己的学习成果,在班级内进行了作品展示。优秀作品入选年级作品展。
After exploring, students used diverse posters to record their learning results. Students shared their works in their classroom. Those excellent works were selected for exhibition of grade works.
6月10日上午,一年级全体学生在三楼平台参观了展出的优秀作品,并用Unit5所学的重点句型进行提问,现场气氛活跃。
On the morning of June 10th, all the students of Grade One go around and look at the outstanding works in the football field on 3rd floor. Students asked questions with the key sentence patterns learned in Unit5. The atmosphere was lively.
通过本次英语PBL探究式学习,学生们学会了观察生活,锻炼、提升了英语公共演说能力和英语思维力,不仅扎实地掌握了英语学科知识,而且能够在真实情境中运用。活动提升了学生学习英语的兴趣,充分激发了学生的学习内驱力。
Through English PBL inquiry learning, students learned how to observe life and improved their English public speaking ability and English thinking ability. Students solidly master the English knowledge. They also learn how to use that in real situation. The activity fully improved students' interest in learning English and stimulated their intrinsic learning ability.
