【综合实践】华大助力,我们看到了国家基因库的模样——VBS开展中小学生校外综合实践学习

万双网讯  国家基因库到底是什么模样?基因是如何被测序的?基因有什么意义?11月15日(周日)下午2点,万科双语学校44名中小学生带着浓浓的好奇心,在郑世英校长助理和科学老师们的带领下,前往位于深圳大鹏半岛的国家基因库进行综合实践学习


VBS News Net: How does CNGB look like? How is gene sequencing conducted? What does the gene signify? Led by Assistant Principal Ms. Zheng and science teachers, 44 VBS students went for an excursion to CNGB at Dapeng Peninsula on 15th November.

今年10月,梅沙教育与华大基因建立了战略合作关系,双方将在STEM教育、生命科学教育、创新课程开发等领域协同发展,搭建与前沿科技教学理念相匹配的硬件条件,打造适用于全学段的科学实验教学基地,加强培养学生基础学科学习兴趣,探索前沿科技企业赋能基础教育的新模式。在华大基因助力下,作为梅沙教育旗下的万科双语学校获得了前往参观国家基因库的宝贵机会。


Meisha Education and BGI signed the partnership agreement this October to co-develop in Life Science Education, STEM Education, Innovative Curriculum and build  science lab teaching base tailored for all levels of students.


本次活动面向3年级以上学生。学校开展了线上“国家基因库知识小竞赛”,按照学生答题正确率及提交的先后顺序,遴选出44名中小学生参与本次活动。


This visit was available for students at Primary 3 and above. VBS made the online quiz on CNGB to select 44 students who answered the questions quick and right.

华大信息研发工程师、项目经理、华大基因学院科学讲师王崇志向同学们详细介绍了基因库的来历、规模、意义,指出基因是生命的源代码,A, G, C, T四种核苷酸不同的排序方式,组成了个体的基因组,而测序就是获取这个排序方式的过程。国家基因库的工作并不仅是单纯地把基因资源收集起来,更要使其得到应用,如应用到人类健康、疾病、农业、物种多样性等多个领域。


R&D Engineer, Project Manager, Science Teacher for BGI Academy Mr. Wang Chongzhi from BGI introduced the origins, scale, significance of CNGB - the genes were the source codes of life. Different sorting of A, G, C and T nucleotides formed the gene groups of individuals while sequencing was about process of acquiring such sorting. CNGB did not just collect gene resources but to apply them to health, disease, agriculture and species diversity.

在参观过程中,梯田形状的国家基因库,能用先进检测技术手段第一时间“发现”新冠病毒的火眼实验室、150台拥有完全自主知识产权的高通量测序仪、优雅的火烈鸟、美丽的白天鹅、活泼的鸸鹋、悠闲的梅花鹿……让孩子们大开眼界。他们纷纷拿出照相机、手表、手机等摄影摄像,留住最美的画面,并用笔记本认真记录老师的讲解。


Students were impressed by the terraced CNGB, Fire Eye Lab which spotted coronavirus using advanced testing technology at the first instance, 150 proprietary intellectual property rights sequencing machines, flamingoes, swans and deers. They use their phones, watches and cameras to take down photos of them when jotting down notes during the introduction.

7D祝凯盈:能够参观国家基因库是我莫大的荣幸。基因是一切生物的基础,保存基因是我们为未来负责、对生物多样性负责的一种表现。大千世界,人和自然应和谐相处。那样我们才能拥有更美好的明天。保护生物多样性应从小事做起,少用一个塑料袋有可能保护了一只小海龟,少用一次性筷子有可能保护了一只熊猫。让我们行动起来,为生物多样性尽一份力吧。


Zhu Kaiying from 7D said,It was an honour to visit CNGB. Every species was grown by genes and preserving them would be an action to care for diversity of species and future. Human ought to make peace with nature to have a better future. We ought to start preserving species by our daily actions - using fewer plastic bags for turtles, disposable chopsticks for pandas. Let's do our part for maintaining diversity of species.

2011年国家发展改革委员会、财政部、工业和信息化部、卫生健康委员会(原卫生部)四部委批复依托深圳华大生命科学研究院(原深圳华大基因研究院)建设深圳国家基因库(亦称国家基因库,英文名称:China National GeneBank,CNGB),它是我国首个国家级综合性基因库,也是世界领先的存、读、写一体化的综合性生物遗传资源基因库。国家基因库服务于国家战略,定位于有效保护、开发、利用基因资源,支撑我国生命科学和生物经济发展,对人类社会的健康、可持续发展具有着重要的意义。


Requested by National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, Industry & Information, Health and Hygiene Commission, CNGB was founded by BGI in 2011 as the first national comprehensive gene database as well as the world leading biological genetic resources genebank with integration of storage, reading and depiction. Serving the national strategy, CNGB is able to protect, develop and manipulate genetic resources to support biobased and life science development as well as the sustainable development of mankind and health in human societies.
