万双网讯  10月25日至31日，由院士领衔、大咖齐聚一堂的第十五届国际基因组学大会（ICG-15）在武汉光谷举行。在ICG-15科学嘉年华上，万科双语学校八年级学生、理工社社长姚俊熙作为中学生代表进行了“基因未来的可能性”主题演讲，并得到了大咖们的称赞。

VBS News Net: ICG-15 was held in Wuhan from 25th October to 31st October with many experts attending. Yao Junxi, Chairperson of VBS Science and Engineering Student Society made the speech titled 'The possibility of genes in future' as a secondary school representative and received compliments.

ICG是由华大基因、中国生物多样性保护与绿色发展基金会、中国科普作家协会 、中国城市科学研究会 、中国生物工程学会、中国遗传学会、北京大学医学部、武汉大学联合主办的全球生命科学领域学术交流与合作的会议。自2006年始，已邀请了包括多位诺贝尔奖得主在内的，在广泛生命科学领域中辛勤工作的数千名顶尖科学家们参会并发表演说，是生命科学领域最具影响力的全球性学术论坛之一。

As a global conference for academic cooperation and communication for life science, ICG was co-organised by BGI, CBCGDF, KPCSWA, CSUS, CSB, GSC, PKUHSC, WHU. Experts and Nobel Prize winners have been invited to make speeches since 2006 to make ICG one of the most influential academic forum in life science.

ICG科学嘉年华作为以科学普及为主题的年度科学大派对，广邀科学相关领域的专家、学者、名人，齐聚一堂，以年轻、时尚、有趣的方式进行主题报告分享，宣传科学思想、开展科普交流。嘉年华的受众有别于传统学术大会，以中小学生为主要对象。以普及生命知识，培养科学兴趣，拓展课余生活为主要目的。关注未来，关注年轻人也是科学嘉年华的重要特色。

ICG Science Fiesta served as an annual science party for universal scientific knowledge to gather experts, academicians, celebrities to spread science ideas in a fashionable and interesting way. It was different from traditional academic forum as it included primary and secondary school students to nurture their interests in science and knowledge about life. It also paid attention to future and youngsters.

ICG-15科学嘉年华于31日举行，为期一天，采取线上与线下结合的开会形式，约5万人观看会议直播。当天，万科双语学校姚俊熙同学作为中学生代表以“基因未来的可能性”为题，详细讲述了什么是基因、基因在性状上的体现、基因的应用及基因的无限可能。他的演讲落落大方，轻松自然，不时还加上几句冷幽默，并对基因应用的未来发展展开丰富的想象，得到了与会嘉宾们的赞许。

It was held on 31st October with both online and offline mode with 50,0000 viewers. As a secondary school representative, Yao Junxi delivered a speech titled 'The possibility of genes in future' to explain applications, definitions, infinite possibility and characteristics of genes. 

会议期间，姚俊熙作为演讲嘉宾获邀与大咖们共进午餐，谈笑风生。大咖们交口称赞：“少年老成，后生可畏。”姚俊熙不失时机向院士、博士们请教，收获颇丰！

During the conference, he was invited to join the lunch with experts. They complimented Junxi for his maturity. Junxi also took this opportunity to consult experts.

会后，姚俊熙与ICG大会组委会主席、基因组学家、中国科学院院士、美国国家科学院外籍院士、华大基因理事长、华大基因学院院长杨焕明进行了深入交流与合影。

Junxi also networked with President of ICG committee, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, genome expert, international member of National Academy of Sciences of USA, Dean of BGI Academy and BGI President, Yang Huanming.

姚俊熙是学校理工社的社长，从小喜爱阅读生物类书籍，关注基因等科学知识。为了参加此次活动，他在生物老师何先姬的指导下，对稿件进行了多次修改。他性格乐观包容，无论是演讲或与大咖们交流，从不怯场。

Junxi is the chairperson of VBS Science and Engineering Student Society with consistent interests in life science since young. Tutored by Ms. He Xianji, he revised his speech several times for this event. He was optimistic and inclusive as he did not have stage fright during his speech or networking.

本次会议，从5亿年前的人类远祖走到6G未来，从国家科学实验室走向科技抗疫，有跨学科、跨行业专家领袖，有前沿科学新发现，有“追科学之星，树科学榜样”的少年力量，有年轻时尚的科学报告，充满趣味的科普交流，是一次别开生面的科学大派对。对于姚俊熙同学来说，在这里赢得了闯荡未来世界的激情和力量，写下了人生光辉亮丽的一笔。

This session was a unique science party to describe homo sapiens born in 500 million years ago to 6G in future, fighting coronavirus from national science lab, inter-disciplinary experts, new findings and youth power. For Junxi, he gained passion and strength to embrace future in his life.

华大基因CEO尹烨则介绍了华大基因在科技抗疫中的工程化范式：火眼实验室。

BGI CEO Mr. Yin Ye introduced their lab against coronavirus - Fire Eye.

国家教育咨询委员会委员王渝生带来了关于国学与科学的探讨。

Mr. Wang Yusheng from National Education Consulting Committee discussed national studies and science. 

来自科普工作室“玉米实验室”的史军为在场参会者着重介绍了科普阅读在青少年教育中的作用与意义，鼓励青少年进行科普阅读。

中渔协原水生物及水域生态委员会主任委员周卓诚（网名：开水族馆的生物男）则鼓励在座年轻人，要敢于走出实验室，学习新技术，利用新媒体做新时代的科普。

Former CFA Ecology Committee member Mr. Zhou Zhuocheng from encouraged youngsters to get out of lab to study new technology and use new media to spread ideas.

记：请问你是什么时候开始对生物感兴趣的？

A: When did you develop interests towards biology?

J：还没上小学的时候，我就对恐龙特别感兴趣。上小学以后读了很多百科全书。上初中以后对物理化学特别感兴趣，目前成立了理工社并担任社长。

Y: Before entering primary school, I was interested in dinosaurs. I read many encyclopedias at primary school. I have had interests in Physics and Chemistry since entering VBS and founded Science & Engineering Student Society.

记：请问你的父母对你要求严格吗？

J: Are your parents demanding?

姚：我的爸爸对我非常严格，妈妈比较佛系。他们都希望我出人头地。

Y: My dad is, but my mom is not. Both of them hope I can succeed in future.

记：请问你参加此次活动回来以后有什么感想？

J: What are your thoughts after coming back from the event?

姚: 更明确了我将来想当一个科学家的梦想。

Y: I am more determined to become a scientist.

记：你与杨焕明院士进行了深入交流，请问你对他的印象以及他对你的影响？

J: You have discussed with Professor Yang Huanming during this event. What do you think of him and in what way has he influenced you?

姚：他十分博学，平易近人。我觉得院士其实离我们很近，只要我们努力，我们也可以成为院士。

Y: He is an erudite but nice. Member of CAS is not far from us, as long as we work hard, we can be one of them in future.
