万双网讯   8月18日至23日，2020广东省青少年国际象棋锦标赛在潮州举行。万科双语学校5D班的任益百同学荣膺12岁组男子快棋冠军。

VBS News Net: 2020 Guangdong Youth Chess Tournament was held in Chaozhou from 18th August to 23rd August. Ren Yibai from 5D clinched the speed chess champion for 12-year-old boys' division.

本次比赛由广东省体育局举办，是广东省最高规格的青少年赛。任益百同学棋风稳健，充分发挥VBS学子坚毅、乐观、包容的特质，以卓越的思维力、高超的棋艺赢得了冠军。

Organised by Guangdong Sports Bureau, this tournament represented the highest level. Ren Yibai demonstrated VBS students qualities - optimism, grit, inclusiveness and excellent thinking abilities to win this champion.

在日前举办的深圳市少年儿童国际象棋网络个人赛中，任益百同学亦荣获冠军。万科双语学校被广东省棋类协会授予 “广东省国际象棋特色学校”称号。建校以来将国际象棋列为必修课，学校一楼和三楼大空间设有户外国际象棋。国际象棋已成为孩子们热爱的课外活动项目，丰富了学生课外活动，为有特长的学生搭建了成长的平台。

Ren Yibai also won the champion in Shenzhen Youth Chess Online Competition for individual players. VBS was awarded the title 'Featured School for Chess in Guangdong Province' by Guangdong Chess Association. Setting Chess as a compulsory lesson since establishment, students were able to play Chess in outdoor area at level 1 and level 3. Chess has now become a favourite extra-curricular activity for students and given opportunities to those students who have speciality.
