【PBL】培养跨领域的核心素养——VBS用PBL带给孩子具有生活价值的学习体验

【万科双语学校注重为孩子提供具有生活价值的学习,增进学生的全局性理解。在此次疫情中,万双的未来少年们不是局外人。他们是思想者、研究者。在这次疫情中他们有着怎样的思考?又该为此做些什么?】

 

万科双语学校始终不渝坚持“为未知而教,为未来而学”的理念,带给孩子们最具生活价值的学习。于是,新学期伊始的第一个PBL项目主题出炉,即关于新型冠状病毒的研究。孩子们需要通过查找资料、探索研究、合作交流、展示汇报等多种方法,学习并最终展示自己的研究成果。


Following the philosophy 'Teach for the unknown, study for the future', VBS continues to offer values in studies. The first PBL topic was on COVID-19 for the semester. Students were supposed to do research, work with peers and presentations on their findings.

 

由于全国延迟开学,万科双语学校在积极开展网络直播课的同时,也让学生的PBL项目式学习在网络直播课中同步进行。2月18日上午,关于新型冠状病毒的PBL项目式学习正式启动。PBL对于VBS学生们来说已经不是什么陌生的事情了,他们可以运用过去的经验和方法,通过各种媒介与渠道,获取信息资料,了解这场疫情是如何发生、传播与蔓延的,如何进行防护,自己应该怎么做等等。他们会基于自己的兴趣,提出最想去研究和解决的问题,在老师的帮助下,在小组合作中,大胆地去完成一次有意义的项目研究!不久,学生们精彩的作品开始呈现,有的用视频展示戴口罩的方法,有的创作了关于预防病毒的游戏,有的制作防护服……优秀作品在官网上进行视频展示,观众可以参与投票。

 

As the school term was postponed across the whole country, VBS launched E-learning and PBL studies simultaneously. The PBL studies began on 18th February. This was not something new to students as they knew what to do for PBL using the past experience to do research, understand the events and how to protect themselves. Based on their own preferences, they raised the questions that they had the most interests on to do research with the assistance of teachers. Working in groups, they were to finish a meaningful project research with courage. Soon they presented a variety of work - videos demonstrating how to wear masks, games on epidemic prevention, manuals to make protective clothes. Excellent works were presented in video forms online for voting.

5月18日,全校学生返校后,琳琅满目的学习海报贴满了学校走廊。同学们天马行空的想象力得到充分展示。同时,万双的未来少年们又开始了新的PBL项目研究之旅,展开了“营养元素与健康之间关系”的项目式研究学习。学习的目的是为了让孩子们有一个健康的假期生活和强健的体魄,合理摄入适量的健康营养元素,了解食物的营养成分以及组成人体所必须的微量元素等等。本期PBL学习时间进入课表,每周一次。孩子们有充分的时间进行研讨。


Once students returned to school on 18th May, study posters were posted across the corridor to showcase their imaginations. They began another set of PBL on nutrients and health. The purpose of studies was to allow students to have a healthy diet and fit bodies during holidays by balanced intake. The PBL was taught once a week which students had time to research.

 

 

























 


不同的年龄阶段对营养元素的理解和研究的方向也不一样,有孩子们希望弄懂喜欢的快餐里面有多少种不能过多摄入的微量元素;有的通过种植开始研究;有的学习到了哪些食物是相生相克的;有的学会了做菜……孩子们自己制作PPT、小视频,合作讲解自己的研究成果、去别的班级展示,拉选票……


Students from different age groups digressed their research interests on nutrients. Some students wished to know the minerals which could not be consumed in excess from fast food. Some research by planting seeds. Others learned to cook when getting to know the food pairs that could or could not be consumed altogether. They made PPT slides, videos to present their findings while visiting other classes to get votes.

在研究的过程中,同学们都遇到了各种各样不同的困难。有的同学说:“来万双前我从未接触过PBL的学习方式,最初我很害怕、担心,不知道如何在团队里参与讨论,如何倾听成员的意见并最终完成成熟的作品。”有的同学说:“在搜寻资料的过程中,最大的困难就是如何能搜索到可以支持论述点的动画,以及搜集到的信息里有很多字都不认识。”还有的同学遇到了材料不全,色系的选择和搭配困难,不知道如何创作主题的设计等等困难。遇到困难,万双的同学们并没有退却,而是冷静思考,随机应变,寻求老师、家长、伙伴们的帮助。


Students met obstacles during their research. Some said, 'I have never met PBL before coming to VBS. At first I am scared as I have no idea how to discuss in groups, listen to others and complete the work,' other students said that they had difficulty in recognising the words and supporting evidence during their research. There were students who were confused about color matching or designs. They remained calm and sought assistance from teachers, parents and friends as they had difficulty.



 



通过每周一次的PBL学习,学生们的5C能力(communication–交流、creativity–创造力 、critical thinking–批判性思维、collaboration–合作、complex problem solving –复杂问题解决能力)得到迅速提高。1G班邓楷扬同学说:“……PBL活动,能打开智慧大脑的开关,让我们学会思考,学会提问,学会寻找问题的答案。”


 Students improved their 5Cs ability through weekly PBL studies. Deng Kaiyang from 1G said,' PBL activities allowed us to think, learn to raise questions and find answers when having our brains trained.'

 

7月6日至10日,本学期进行了最后一次PBL展示活动,并通过票选评出了多个奖项。


The final PBL presentation of the semester was held from 6th July to 10th July with several awards were released.
























未来的竞争,关键不在知识,而是跨领域的核心素养。PBL项目式学习是VBS的常规学习方式,旨在让学生能够根据自己感兴趣的内容进行研究式学习和项目式学习。学生通过查找资料、探索研究、合作交流、汇报展示等各种方法,在学习基础学科知识的同时进行跨学科内容的整合,并能最大限度调动学生的积极性和创造力,让孩子们真切地感受到,学习与生活息息相关,他们的学习与创造具有无可比拟的价值,并从中涵养卓越的学习力与社会责任感。


The competition in future is not about knowledge but inter-disciplinary core calibres. PBL studies is a standard learning model at VBS, which aims to allow students to do projects or research studies based on their interests. Students learn basic subjects when combining inter-disciplinary contents to motivate students in terms of their interests and creativity by research, discussion and presentations. Students will experience the connections between studies and life as their studies and creations worth a lot and achieve academic excellence and social responsibility.
