万双网讯  6月12日下午，因为一场特别的颁奖礼，VBS小学部顿时沸腾起来。万科双语学校英语组老师在小学各班为孩子们颁发了“英语阅读之星English Reading Star”、“英语书写之星 English Handwriting Star”以及“英语进步之星 Rising Star”的奖状，同时为获奖者颁发21世纪英语演讲比赛奖状，旨在鼓励孩子们继续加强英语阅读，提升英语书写，养成良好的阅读习惯。

VBS News Net: VBS English Department gave out certificate of honours for “English Reading Star”, “English Handwriting Star” and “English Rising Star” as well as for 21st Century English Speech Contest on 12th June. This aimed to further improve students' reading, handwriting and reading habits.

作为万科双语学校特色英语教学的一个部分，“阅读”是非常重要的拓展角色。VBS在校内开设了由外教授课的ESL课程。每学期开学初，各年级组便将精心推荐的必读书目、选读书目发送给家长。学生必读书目包含自然科学、社会科学、人物、故事等不同领域，目的在于拓宽学生的阅读范围，以涉猎不同领域的知识，全面提升学生的英语综合素养；选读书目尊重学生的阅读爱好，由学生自主选择。

As part of English teaching at VBS, reading played a huge role . ESL taught by international teachers was offered at VBS together with a list of recommended books to parents. This inlcuded natural science, social science, stories and people to extend their knowledge band and improve their English skills. Students were free to read the book of their choice among the booklist to tailor their own needs.

针对必读书⽬，⽼师会利⽤早、晚⾃习或课堂时间带领学⽣精读，并在班级范围内进⾏多种形式的读书分享。读后撰写阅读笔记，已经成为VBS学生们的固定项目。每日小程序朗读打卡，日复一日、日积月累。学期末通过“阅读素养考核”，检测学生学习效果。通过原版英文阅读的持续开展，不但迅速增加了学生词汇量，也拓展了学生的国际视野。

Teachers would lead reading sessions during lessons, night study and morning reading periods for compulsory reading books. Sharing sessions were also carried out with writing reflections. Daily reading registration was put up to ensure students make progress everyday. A reading evaluation would be taken to oversee the entire reading process. Students were able to expand their vocabulary and international horizons as they continued to read original English books.

“兴趣是最好的老师”。本次颁奖活动中，学生们热情高涨，充分激发了学⽣们的英语阅读兴趣，对进一步提升学生语⾔素养和激发学生学习内驱力具有深远意义。

Interest is the best teacher. Students will become passionate readers to improve their English skills and inner strength to study.
