万双网讯  “老师，我好喜欢杨校长写的这封信哦！”“老师，我好喜欢你送的礼物……” 一封杨帆校长的来信，一张价值200元的购书卡，一顿可以尽性狂吃的西餐，还有各式各样老师们精心挑选的小礼物……让万科双语学校的孩子们沐浴在浓浓的爱河中，度过了一个别样的、温馨的六一儿童节。

由于疫情期间不能聚集，不能搞大型活动，为了给孩子们一份特别的节日礼物，杨校长和老师们进行了精心的策划。杨校长在信中鼓励孩子们阅读，语重心长地告诉孩子们：“书籍将带你勇敢地走向未来。“学校赠送的购书卡可以在六大书城通用，包括：龙华书城、龙岗书城、中心书城、宝安书城、南山书城，罗湖书城。学校发展中心提供了书目推荐。4c班的孩子们认真朗读起校长的来信，用心领略校长的问候和期待。

As crowding was strictly prohibited, the school could not host any celebration events. Thus Principal Yang and teachers thought carefully on the gifts for students. Principal Yang encouraged students to read, 'Books will guide you towards the future,' Bookstore gift cards could be used to check out at six major bookstores over the city, including Longhua Bookstore, Longgang Bookstore, Central Bookstore, Bao'an Bookstore, Nanshan Bookstore, Luohu Bookstore. A list of recommended books was also provided by the Development Centre. Students from 3C perceived what was written on the letter by reciting it. 

班主任老师和生活老师们给孩子们的礼物五花八门：有带密码锁的笔记本，有创意DIY负离子盆栽，有可以开花的种子，有可以长大的蘑菇，有美丽的发卡，有可爱的大象公仔，有各式各样的玩具、好吃的零食……孩子们脸上的笑容，像花儿一样灿烂。

Gifts from class and residential teachers were gifts of all kinds - notebooks with locks, DIY plants, flower seeds, mushrooms, dolls, toys and snacks. Students had big smiles on their faces.

每一位万双的孩子，都可以品尝一次学校提供的西餐。美味的披萨、鸡翅、薯条、饮料，可以随便吃，直到心满意足。七年级的陈同学忍不住说道：“杨校，我爱你。“

Every VBS student could have the western cuisines provided by the school canteen - pizza, chicken wings, french fries and drinks for unlimited refills. A pupil from Grade 7 could not resist to express her love to her Principal, 'Principal Yang I love you.'

在这个特别的节日，学校为孩子们提供了丰富的物质和精神食粮，倾尽全力为孩子们提供充满爱的教育陪伴，让孩子们在爱与关怀中学会感恩、包容、乐观，涵养健全的人格，用百分之百的真诚呵护每一位孩子快乐成长！

In this special Children's Day celebration, the school has provided both cuisine and food for thought for students to offer educational accompany with lots of love so that they could learn gratitude, inclusiveness, optimism and develop their characters under the care of VBS.

Dear VBS pupils,

“六一”快乐！今年太特殊了，没有办法举行去年那样的狂欢活动，让你们尽情欢乐和放松。这个“六一”是八年级同学最后一个儿童节了，特殊而有意义。思虑再三，决定给你们准备这张购书卡作为节日礼物，以表达对你们的点滴成长与进步的感动，同时祝你们“六一”儿童节快乐！

Happy Children's Day! It was unfortunate that we are unable to throw a feast like the one we had last year for you all to relax and have fun. This will be the last and memorable Children's Day for Grade 8 students. After thinking thrice, I've decided to give bookstore gift cards gift as the present this year to express my feelings towards the growth and progress you have made.

This small present of gift cards are enclosed with expectations that VBS has on you - to experience the future. Future is our destination where we must work hard to reach for. Book is the ladder of human progress. Invention of printing and paper making by our ancestors have facilitated the development of our civilisation and the dissemination of knowledge. Mankind has been the dominant species of biological world as we are the only one to pass down knowledge via language in the past four billion years. Shenzhen has been named global model for the promotion of reading by UNESCO since 2013 as reading is part of our lives. Reading books allows you to converse with thinkers. It gives you knowledge and the ability to think to feel empowered. I have read 12 books this winter break and I feel joyful and enriched with more thinking towards my own work. VBS encourages students to read and think more often. Books will guide you towards the future.
