万双网讯 12月29日下午，2019中国童话节之粤港澳大湾区童话节校园中英文短剧总汇演于盐田会堂隆重举行，来自深圳中小学、幼儿园及社会机构的62个参赛剧目参与了金、银、铜奖项的竞逐。万科双语学校参演的英语剧《 Never give up 》(永不言弃)喜获银奖。

VBS News Net: The 2019 China Fairy Tale Festival Campus Bilingual Plays Presentation at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay area was held in Yantian Hall on 29th December. 62 plays from kindergartens, schools and social organisations in Shenzhen competed for awards. The play performed by VBS was awarded Silver. 

本次活动由中国人生科学学会、中国童话节组织委员会、深圳市读书月组委会办公室主办，深圳少年儿童图书馆、深圳市童话艺术团承办。

This session was co-organised by China Life Science Association, China Fairy Tale Committee, Shenzhen Reading Month Committee, and taken by Shenzhen Youth Library and Fairy Tale Performing Arts Group.

英语剧《 Never give up 》由万科双语学校外教、英语学科组老师（张兰、Mark、陆巧、黄巧俐、刘文伶、贺舒婷、何便）倾情打造，10名分别来自三、四年级的学生（陈韵、於姝含、关畅、陈履一、张语珈、黄梓源、胡桐恩、吴萱怡、谭若晨）组成了演职团队，共同演绎了英语剧《 Never give up 》(永不言弃)。

The play 'Never give up' was produced by teachers from English department (Victoria, Mark, Crystal, Shirley, Bella, Sunny and Helen). Ten Primary School students (Chen Yun, Yu Shuhan, Guan Chang, Liu Wenling, Chen Lyuyi, Zhang Yujia, Huang Ziyuan, Hu Tongen, Wu Xuanyi and Tan Ruochen) dedicated themselves to this play.

好剧离不开好的故事情节，本次童话节的主题鲜明，与祖国以及粤港澳大湾区发展结合。该剧讲述了万双学子Bella参加创客比赛的故事。Bella和失明的奶奶相依为命，她为了让奶奶重见光明，开始了她的创造发明。在这个过程中她遇到了一系列的困难，但是凭着身上流淌的深圳精神和万科双语学校学子坚毅的特质，在一次次挫败中，勇敢面对嘲笑声、质疑，坚定信念，永不言弃，最终收获了属于她的荣誉勋章。随着戏剧本身故事情节的发展，现场观众无不动容。

The theme for this drama competition was about connecting with the development of the motherland and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay area. This play was about VBS student Bella taking part in maker competition. Raised by grandma who lost her eyesight, Bella started inventions to allow grandma to regain eyesight. Encountered difficuty during the process, she sticked to the Shenzhen spirits, grit and did not give up against all the questions and mockery. She finally got her honourary medal after failure. The audience was moved by the story as well.

学生们在舞台上的舞台表现力、英语语言表达能力等都得到了来自评委、观众的交口称赞。此次表演融合了万双中、外教老师的心血，不论从剧本、服装到道具，都进行了精心的打磨。该剧由万双Drama课Mark老师执导，他希望通过一个与学生生活紧密联系的故事，为粤港澳大湾区的孩子们带去一种内心的力量，能战胜一切学习生活中的困难，永不言弃。这也是万双学生特有的坚毅品质。

The play received praise from judges and audience. Many VBS teachers put in effort on the script, costumes and props to make this play possible. Directed and written by VBS Drama teacher Mark Troy, who wanted this play to give inner strength to students around Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay area to overcome the odds in life and never give up using a typical story which was closely related to students. This was also the qualities that VBS students had.

万科双语学校Drama课为学生必修课，由外籍教师授课。在日常学习中，学生们的表演能力、英语口语能力、英语运用思维等得到了全面提升，增进了学生的全局性理解力。

Taught by international teachers, Drama Studies is compulsory for students. Students are able to improve their performing skills, English oral and English thinking which reinforces their perception to the bigger picture.
