万双网讯 “运动是一切生命的源泉”，拼搏是VBS学子最美的姿态。为涵养学生良好的运动习惯，锻造坚毅、乐观、包容、活力等品质，2019 年12月2日—6日，在冬日凛冽的寒风中，万科双语学校奥林匹克周暨首届田径运动会在学校操场隆重举行。

VBS News Net: 'Exercise is the source of life', fighting spirit has been the profile for VBS students. VBS Olympic week and 1st Sports Day was held from 2nd to 6th December to nurture good sporting habits and key qualities such as grit, optimism, inclusiveness and vitality.

本次活动的口号是：“自信、勇敢、坚毅、拼搏、进取、超越”。全校学生在运动场上赛出了水平，赛出了风格，让校园绽放出非凡的精彩。

The slogan for this Sports Day is 'Confidence, Bravery, Grit, Struggle, Enterprising Spirit and Surpass'. All students demonstrated sportsmanship and performed well in the contests and make the school unique and colourful.

12月2日上午，随着奥运圣火的点燃，万科双语学校奥林匹克周暨首届田径运动会正式拉开帷幕。每天下午，操场上热闹非凡，由全校学生参与的篮球赛、跳绳比赛充分营造了一个活力四射的校园。

As the flame was lit up on 2nd December, VBS Olympic week and 1st Sports Day officially began. Various sports events took place every afternoon in school field. Basketball and skipping events energised the school.

12月5日上午，隆重而盛大的开幕式在学校操场举行。国旗队、校旗队、会徽队、裁判员方队及全校26个班级迈着矫健的步伐，英姿勃勃，依次入场。每个班级喊着嘹亮的班级口号，带来了精彩纷呈的节目表演。充满异域风情的希腊神话表演、洋溢着浓郁中国风的武术表演、活力动感的现代舞以及色彩艳丽的服装、创意十足的编排……让开幕式掀起了一轮轮高潮。

The grand opening ceremony was held on 5th December. National flag team, school flag team, emblem team, referee team and 26 classes entered the field in the form of parade. Each class chanted their slogans and presented a short performance - these included Greek myths, Chinese Wushu and modern dance which brought the ceremony to its climax.

世界仰泳冠军张晨老师、国际青少年马拉松运动员张新雨分别代表裁判员和运动员进行了宣誓，杨帆校长郑重宣布本届田径运动会正式开幕，希望同学们在比赛中充分发扬拼搏、坚毅的精神，取得优良的成绩。

Backstroke World Champion Mr Zhang, international youth marathon athlete Rain Zhang took the oath on behalf of referees and athletes. Principal Yang announced the opening of Sports Day and wished all students perform well in the events and demonstrate grit and fighting spirits.

本届田径运动包括14个竞技项目（50米×12迎面接力跑、60米、100 米、200 米、400米、800米、1500米、3000米、4×100米接力、立定跳远、跳远、投掷沙包、投掷实心球、投篮大赛），12个趣味项目（车轮滚滚、毛毛虫、最长的绳子、同舟共济、赶猪跑、足球通关赛、护送乒乓球、一大带一小跳绳、两圈到底、旋风跑、碰碰球、乾坤球）。

This Sports Day had 14 events (12*50m face to face relay, 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4*100m relay, long jump, shooting), 12 novelty events (Moving Wheels, Caterpillar, the Longest Rope, Mat Transport, Basketball Move and Shoot, Football Challenge, Guarding Ping Pongs, Skipping Duo, Hoops till the end, Run with sticks and Collision Balls).

12月5日，小学各个项目的比赛有序进行。同学们在赛场上奋勇争先，用乐观、拼搏的精神赢得了全场喝彩。尤其在接力比赛中，有的同学鞋子跑掉了仍然在奋力奔跑，不遗余力为集体增光……

Primary school events was organised on 5th December. Students won the cheers from the spectators with fighting spirits and optimism. Especially at the relay, some did not stop running even their shoes dropped off for their classes.

当天下午，趣味盎然的亲子运动会热烈举行，操场上成了一片欢乐的海洋。家长和孩子们兴奋地参与到各个趣味项目的竞赛中，每个人的脸上，都洋溢着阳光般灿烂的笑容。

The novelty events in the afternoon turned the school into joy. Parents joined their kids into these events and enjoyed every moment.

12月6日，初中各个项目的竞赛激烈进行。同学们在比赛中用汗水与坚持充分诠释了奥林匹克精神。在800米、1500米、3000米等中长跑比赛中，有的同学虽然落后，却始终不放弃，一直坚持到终点，他们表现出的坚毅的精神让现场观众深深感动。在各个赛道上，除了拼尽全力的运动员，还可以看到倾情陪跑的老师和同学，同学情、师生情在比赛中得到了升华。

Junior Secondary School events took place on 6th December. Students displayed Olympic spirits with their own actions. In the long distance running, students did not give up even they were left behind for quite some time. Students and teachers supported the athletes by running beside them. The strong bonds were made stronger after the contests.  

在颁奖仪式上，当同学们从学校领导、老师手中接过奖状、奖牌和鲜花时，难掩激动的心情。每一次成功的背后都有无数的汗水，每一次拼搏都会有收获。 

At the awards ceremony, students received certificate of honours from teachers and senior members of school with pride and excitement.

万科双语学校奥林匹克周暨首届田径运动会整整持续一周，对于培养学生坚毅、乐观、包容、活力等核心素养具有显著的成效，同时对于弘扬体育精神、提升学生体育素养、增强学生身体素质、促进阳光体育运动的发展、营造和谐活力校园、增进学生全局性理解等均具有深远的意义。

This week-long event has had significant impact on developing key qualities such as grit, optimism, inclusiveness and vitality on students. It also improves fitness and promotes sportsmanship, sunny exercise development, harmonious campus among the school communities.
