万双网讯   2019年12月2日上午，2019-2020第一学期第十四周升旗仪式暨奥林匹克周启动仪式在学校操场举行。

VBS News Net: The weekly flag-raising assembly for the fourteenth week was held on 2nd December together with the launch of the Olympic week.

本周升旗仪式由2C班承担。2C班是一个朝气蓬勃、团结向上的集体。仪式由2C班罗邦穆和张楚瑜主持，林夏羽、刘栩辰做了演讲。他们演讲的题目是《我运动、我健康、我快乐》。

2C was in charge of the assembly. 2C has been a united and positive class. Luo Bangmu and Zhang Chuyu co-hosted the assembly, Lin Xiayu and Liu Xuchen made the speech 'I exercise to get fit and happy'.

演讲结束，由学校选出的15名火炬手依次在操场跑道上传递火炬，杨帆校长、郑世英主任、世界仰泳冠军张晨老师、教师代表Mark、学生代表（美国拉斯维加斯青少年联赛U12组别冠军）张新雨、学生代表（广东省青少年攀岩项目深圳站U10女子组速度赛冠军）吴妍慧共同点燃圣火。杨帆校长宣布VBS奥林匹克周正式启动。

After the speech, 15 torch bearers passed the fire one by one before Principal Yang, Head of Development Centre Ms Zheng, backstroke swimming world champion Mr Zhang, Mark, U12 Las Vegas Youth League Champion Zhang Xinyu and U Wu Yanhui together ignited the main torch at the platform. Principal Yang also announced the launch of VBS Olympic Week.

今天，我们满怀喜悦的心情迎来了2019年VBS奥林匹克周，这是同学们展示体育才华的舞台，是班集体凝聚力的加油站，也是学校体育工作的盛会。

奥林匹克就是奥林匹克运动会，中文简称“奥运会”，它起源于古希腊，因举办地点在奥林匹克而得名。运动会每隔4年举行一次。第一届奥林匹克运动会在雅典举行。

1920年，国际奥委会正式确认“更快、更高、更强”为奥林匹克格言。奥运吸引了全球人的注意，全民倡导奥林匹克精神——相互了解、友谊、团结和公平竞争。

现代奥运会是真正国际性的体育竞赛，它是不以赢利为目的的体育盛会。

万科双语学校奥林匹克周的活动丰富多彩：有小学部的跳小绳比赛、初中部的跳长绳比赛、还有全校师生的田径运动会。

我们的口号是：“自信、勇敢、坚毅、拼搏、进取、超越”，希望全校师生在运动场上赛出水平，展现风格，让我们美丽的校园精彩纷呈。

The speech was as follows:

Today we are excited to have the 2019 VBS Olympic week, this is a platform for students to show their talents and classes to show their bonding. It is also a major sports event in our school.

The Olympic Game originated in ancient Greece. It is named by the location where it is held. It is held every four years and the first Olympic Game was held in Athens.

In 1920, International Olympic Committee confirmed the Olympic motto as 'faster, higher, stronger'. It caught attention from everyone on Earth, and the Olympic spirits - understanding, friendship, unity and fair competition were promoted.

Modern Olympic Games are international sports competitions which are non-profitable major sports events.

VBS Olympic week offers many activities, skipping and Sports Day.Our motto is 'confidence, bravery, grit, struggle, enterprising spirits, surpass'. All the best to contestants and together we make our school splendid.
