万双网讯   2019年10月21日，2019-2020第一学期第八周升旗仪式在学校操场举行。本周升旗仪式由7D班承担。7D班是一个兼容并包，和谐团结的集体。

VBS News Net: The eighth week flag raising assembly was held on 21st October by 7D. 7D has been a united and compatible class.

升旗仪式由7D班沈博勋、李佳慧主持。 刘振和、陈思帆、叶欣蓉、黄江成做了演讲，他们演讲的题目是《少年正是读书时》。

Shen Boxun and Li Jiahua bilingually hosted the assembly. Liu Zhenhe, Chen Sifan, Ye Xinrong and Huang Jiangcheng made the speech 'it is the time to read at a young age.'

高尔基说过：“书籍是人类进步的阶梯。”“书是全世界的营养品。”

生活里没有书籍，就好像没有阳光；智慧里没有书籍，就好像鸟儿没有翅膀。

Gorky once said, 'book is the ladder of human progress.' books are the nutrients for the whole world. 

Life without books is dull, wisdom without books is the same as birds without wings. 

从古至今，无数的学者哲人都说过读书让人快乐的话题，一篇篇优美的文章和一句句警示后人的箴言，也激励着我们在浩瀚的书海中寻找属于自己的快乐。

Many scholars have mentioned about reading makes people happy. Many writings and quotes motivate us to search our joy in the books.

每年的4月23号是“世界读书日”，很多国家和地区都会在这一天开展丰富多彩的读书活动，可见读书的重要性已经被人们广泛地认识到了。

23rd April is the annual World Reading Day, reading activities are conducted in countries and regions all over the world, which the importance of reading is recognised.

一提到世界上最有智慧的民族，犹太人一定有一席之地，在诺贝尔奖颁发的一百多年间，他们以占世界0.3%的人口获得了近20%的奖项；在各个领域都大师辈出、群星灿烂。这样智慧聪明的民族是怎么得来的呢？是先天聪慧吗？

Speaking about the most intelligent nations in the world, the Jews are definitely one of them. With only 0.3%(zero point three percent) of world's population, they have won nearly 20% of Noble prizes over the century. Jews elites are found in every sector. How have they become so smart? Is it because of their nature?

不，是因为他们的良好习惯：读书。犹太人把读书作为传承教育、传统、知识的重要手段，被誉为“读书的民族”“学习和思考的民族”。他们人均拥有图书馆和出版社的数量居全球之冠，人均阅读量也达到了一个令人惊讶的数字。

No, it is because of their reading habits. The Jews consider reading as means to edcaute, pass down traditions and knowledge, hence they are called 'the reading nation' or 'a nation which is always learning and thinking'. They top the average number of library and publisher per person, and have reached an astonishing reading average number.

与此同时，据中国新闻出版研究院发布的第十六次全国国民阅读调查报告显示，2018年我国人均数字阅读量达12.4本，仍有非常大的提升空间。值得欣慰的是，《2018中国儿童阅读报告》显示，我们深圳的少儿阅读量领跑全国。

According to the 16th national reading survey published by Chinese Academyc of Press and Publication, he average reading number of digital books per person is 12.4, which has rooms for improvement. Shenzhen is top of the country in the average reading number by children in the relevant report published in 2018.

新课标要求学生小学六年课外阅读总量须达145万字以上。然而，读书如果只是为了应对考试，是非常功利和肤浅的。我们可以从书中见识历史更替、社会变革，体会博爱，感受真情，开启智慧，净化心灵，学会思考，学会成长。

The reading requirement for Primary 6 students outside the class is over 1.45 million characters by the latest national curriculum. However, it is shallow to read just for taking the language exams, we can learn the evolutions of history and society from reading, to feel love, emotions, enlightenmen.

世纪老人冰心说过：“读书好，好读书，读好书。”读一本好书，就是和一位智者交谈，可以使人心灵充实，明辨是非。我们在阅读时也要秉承这一原则，选择好书，读春季的鸟语花香，读夏季的雷鸣雨飘，读秋季的梧桐叶落，读冬季的冰封雪塑。

It is good to read books, it is good to love reading and we need to read well-written books. Reading a well-written book enables us to converse with an intelligent person, to know what is right and what is wrong. We shall follow this principle and read everything about the world.

“问渠那得清如许，为有源头活水来。”书是我们最忠诚的伙伴，使人心颜常驻，遨游天地。

 “路漫漫其修远兮，吾将上下而求索。”读书的旅程永远也没有终点，知识的海洋等待着我们不断地浇灌。

All of us have to keep reading to gain knowledge. Books are our buddies and enable us to know the world.

The search for the truth can be long but we shall never stop. The reading process is never ending and so is our work to expand our knowledge.

少年强则国强，少年读书则国读书！让我们尽情阅读，高扬知识的风帆，在时代的大潮中，挂云帆，济沧海！诗书趁年华！

Nation's future strength is determined by its youth. Let's read while we are still young.
