万双网讯  烈日下，暴雨中，VBS学子拼搏的姿态惊艳了时光。10月13日下午，2019年龙华区中小学足球比赛在潜龙学校举行。万科双语学校初中女足与初中男足在这里分别与民治中学、大浪实验学校展开了激烈的角逐。面对超强对手，孩子们永不言弃，轻伤不下火线，完美诠释了VBS学子勇敢、坚毅的精神。

VBS News Net: VBS students' fighting spirit was consistent under the sun and heavy rain. Inter-school football competition of Longhua District was held in Quanlong School on 13th October. Both football boys and girls of VBS secondary school played against Minzhi Secondary School and Dalang Experimental School respectively. They demonstrated bravery, grit and the spirit of never give up against their opponents who had the upper hand.

杨帆校长和家长朋友亲自到现场为孩子们加油指导，张雪老师、陈志航老师全程为孩子们保驾护航。

Principal Ms Cara Yang, parents and friends cheered for the students on field and everything was taken care of by Ms Zhang Xue and Mr Chen Zhihang, whom handled the logistics well.

女足比赛中，天气晴好，谢宝乐同学带伤参赛，时刻冲锋陷阵，并突破对方防线，完美踢进一球。男足比赛伊始，天气突变，暴雨如注，比赛照常进行。风雨中，守门员李斯琪一次次将球扑到，一次次护卫了球门。杨睿奇同学敢拼敢抢，无所畏惧，攻破对方球门，踢进一球。

The weather was great when football girls played their match. Xie Baole managed to score a goal despite suffering from injuries. Yet there was a heavy downpour when football boys played their match. Goalkeeper Li Siqi had multiple outstanding saves and Yang Ruiqi played aggressively and scored a goal.

比赛结束后，杨帆校长说道：“这一天，初中男女两个队孩子们都是区足球赛最后一场比赛了。我知道他们一直在输，但从未放弃，一直在拼。我来到现场为他们鼓劲。两场球踢下来，我再次被万双娃不惧强手，乐观、拼搏、坚毅的表现感动。我坚信，养成了这些好品质，就能站在未来中央。万双作为一所新建校，明知孩子们实力不够，依然坚持让孩子们组队连续两年参加两届比赛，宁愿输得一败涂地，就是想让他们在赛场上去磨砺，在实战中学会思考。女队比赛时，孩子们在比分落后的情况下，始终认真对待每一次防守和进攻，甚至带伤坚持。到男队比赛时，暴雨伴随，面对强手大浪实验学校队，万双娃表现了不惧困难、永不言败、团结拼搏的体育精神，这就是万双希望培养的孩子的样子。比赛结束，对方队员向万双娃竖起了大拇指。赢得对手的尊重，虽败犹荣！感谢家长的理解和鼓励，我们会好好总结，在已有经验的基础上，通过专业的训练，提升水平。明年，赛场再见！”

Principal Yang said in post-match, 'This is the last match for our team playing in the District league. I know they are losing matches, but they never give up and keep fighting. I come down to cheer for them. I am touched by their performance which reflects their qualities - fearlessness, optimism, grit. I strongly believe, with such qualities, they are well-prepared for the future. As a school that has been just established, we know the fact that students are in the lower hand, but we want them to have some experience and ability to think on their feet in real game, that's why we play in the league regardless of the score. The girls have treated the game seriously despite losing and some playing with injuries. The boys have displayed true sportsmanship in the match against Dalang Experimental School. These are the students VBS want to nurture. We have earned the respect from our opponents. I must acknowledge support and understanding from our parents, we will improve ourselves for the league next year.'

10月14日晚，杨帆校长为足球队员们召开了总结会。她展示了同学们奋力拼搏的精彩照片，对同学们在场上表现的奋力拼搏、永不言弃的精神给予了赞扬。她表示下一步学校将为队员们提供更专业的训练，满足孩子们对足球的热爱。她还鼓励同学们做好学业规划，做学力卓越的优秀运动员。同学们很兴奋，不时用掌声回应校长。就像杨睿奇那句简短的发言一样——继续踢好，相信孩子们在以后的赛场上，一定会继续拼搏努力，取得佳绩。

Principal Yang had an end-of-season meeting in the evening of 14th October. She commended on the sportsmanship demonstrated by players. She stated that the school would provide more professional training for players. She also encouraged players to plan for their studies, apart from their sports competition. Students applauded in response to Principal Yang's message. Just like what Yang Ruiqi said - keep working. We believed that VBS football boys would get a better result in future.

本次足球比赛开阔了孩子们的体育视野，提高了足球竞技水平。孩子们在比赛中收获了友谊，锻炼了体质，磨砺了意志，学会了团结与协作，养成了坚毅与乐观的品质。

The football competition has opened up horizons in sports and improved competitiveness of football players. Besides getting fitter and more friends, they also gain teamwork and other qualities during the league.
