万双网讯  “我们是共产主义接班人，继承革命先辈的光荣传统，爱祖国，爱人民， 鲜艳的红领巾飘扬在前胸……“9月30日上午，万科双语学校50名未来少年嘹亮的歌声久久在深圳革命烈士陵园上空回荡。当天，深圳市公祭烈士活动暨向烈士纪念碑敬献花篮仪式在这里隆重举行。深圳市领导同各界代表共500余人一起出席了仪式。VBS未来少年们代表深圳市少先队员参加了活动，深切缅怀为实现民族独立和复兴，为谋求人民解放和幸福，为创立新中国、建设新中国而英勇牺牲的烈士们。

VBS News Net: The singing of 50 VBS students was echoed in the morning of 30th September at the Martyrs' Park, Shenzhen. On this day, the official Martyrs' memorial was held cordially. A total number of 500 people with municipal leaders of Shenzhen attended the service. VBS students represented the entire cohort of Shenzhen Young Pioneers Team to take part in this memorial, to offer their sincerest commemoration to martyrs to the cause of independence, liberation, rejuvenation and the prosperity of the Chinese nation.

仪式上，庄严、雄壮的国歌声响起，VBS未来少年手持鲜花，和与会人员齐唱《中华人民共和国国歌》，接着献唱《我们是共产主义接班人》；礼仪士兵在献花曲中手抬花篮缓步走向革命烈士纪念碑，向烈士敬献花篮；全体人员默哀、鞠躬。现场气氛凝重，弥漫着对烈士的崇敬与哀思之情。烈士纪念碑上，东江纵队司令员曾生将军题写的“革命烈士永垂不朽”八个大字熠熠生辉。

At the memorial, VBS students held bunches of flowers and sang the national anthem with the crowd, followed by a group singing of the anthem of China's Young Pioneers Team by themselves. Soldiers slowly presented wreaths to the martyrs' monument before the crowd had a minute of silence and bow down. The memorial was conducted in the most solumn way possible to show respect and grief to the martys. The inscription on momument was done by General Zeng, the chief-commander of East River Troop. 

怀着无比崇敬的心情，同学们跟随队伍向烈士纪念碑献花、瞻仰。

With deep reverence, students followed the soldiers to the monument, offered flowers and looked up to the monument which represented all the martyrs. 

深圳卫视的记者现场采访了3C班蒋尚熹同学。面对记者的提问，他自信地答道：“今天参加公祭仪式，深切缅怀革命先烈的丰功伟绩，心情非常激动。我们今天的幸福生活都是革命先烈抛头颅洒热血换来的，我们要倍加珍惜，发愤学习，报效祖国。”

Jiang Shangxi from 3C was interviewed by the SZMG journalist, 'I am very emotional to take part in this martyrs' memorial and to commemorate the martyrs. The happiness in life that we enjoy today are brought by the martyrs to the cause of building People's Republic of China. We must cherish it and work hard so that we can serve our nation in future,' he answered with confidence.

万科双语学校有序的组织、学生出色的表现得到了市教育局领导的高度赞扬。

The chiefs in the Education Bureau of Shenzhen gave VBS great compliments for its well-organised presence and the well-behaved conduct of its students for the memorial today.

2014年2月27日，中国十二届全国人大常委会第七次会议通过决定，将每年的9月30日确定为烈士纪念日。让学生参与公祭活动，不仅能够让他们了解烈士的事迹，培养民族精神，家国情怀，也能够让他们铭记历史，珍爱和平，陶冶情操，树立崇高理想，为实现中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦而不懈奋斗。

On 27th February 2014, the 12th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed the motion on its seventh meeting that the Martyrs' day was on 30th September annually. By having students participate in the public memorial services, they were able to understand the martyr's stories, to build up national spirits and patriotism, remember the history and hence cherish the peace which does not come easy, as well as to work hard tirelessly for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

VBS proactively offers students study opportunities which are valuable in life, promptly connect them with history and society, enable them to embrace the world with open arms and to have a better understanding of the bigger picture. As the 70th National Day is approaching, this vivid national education lesson on patriotism will benefit students for life.
