万双网讯  日前，在由深圳市龙华区教育科学研究院主办的龙华区第二届小学生“I Love Reading –My Favorite Story”英语演讲比赛中，万科双语学校4D班陈韵同学喜获二等奖。

本次大赛于3月初举行班级初赛及校级比赛，陈韵获得校级第一名后代表学校参加龙华区比赛。在龙华区57所学校提交的参赛视频中，龙华区教科院选出了23份优秀作品，在桂花小学举行了现场决赛。

决赛分两部分评分，1分钟的现场英语演讲与2分钟的即兴中文答辩。本次决赛是一年级到六年级的孩子混合参赛，没有细分年龄段。面对五六年级的大哥哥大姐姐们，陈韵同学虽然第一次参赛，但毫不怯场，在现场的英语演讲自信大方，观点鲜明，赢得了评委们的赞赏。

英语老师刘文伶在赛前对陈韵从稿件修改、台风、语言表达、身体姿态等进行了悉心指导。

赛后，陈韵同学分享了她多年的英语学习经验，那就是海量阅读，以英语分级读物为主。幼儿园阶段，主要是妈妈给她讲I Can Read系列。小学一二年级开始自主阅读Raz-kids有声电子书系列，并开始接触桥梁书和初章书，包括棚车少年、神奇树屋、老鼠记者。三年级开始大量阅读章节书，包括纳尼亚传奇、哈利波特、莎士比亚戏剧集。她每年阅读近百本英语原版书，目前的兰斯值超过1000，词汇量相当于中国研究生的水平，展示了VBS学子卓越的学习力。

I Love Reading -- My Favorite Story

Good afternoon，everyone. I started reading since I was one year old. Out of all the stories I have read so far, I enjoyed the “The Paper Bag Princess” story the most.

The story is about a special Princess named Elizabeth. She plans on marrying Prince Ronald. However, a dragon arrives, destroys her castle, kidnaps Ronald, and burns all her clothes, so she has to wear a paper bag. Elizabeth follows the dragon and rescues Ronald, but Ronald is ungrateful. He asks her to return when she looks more like a princess. Elizabeth rejects him as a worthless bum and goes dancing off into the sunset to live her own life.

This story taught me a very valuable lesson, girls are powerful. We can take control of our own lives and be independent.
