VBS held the kick-off meeting of 2nd information technology application ability improvement project

VBS News Net: To implement the opinions of the Ministry of education on implementing the national information technology application ability improvement project 2.0 for primary and secondary school teachers (teacher (2019) No. 1), relying on the implementation guidelines issued by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, and start the school-wide promotion process, on November 26, VBS held the kick-off meeting of 2nd information technology application ability improvement project in the theater. All teachers participated in the meeting.

 

The meeting was presided over by Ms. Wu Ping, director of the development center. She pointed out that based on the school running concept, combined with PBL and STEAM teaching concept, and according to the ability improvement project 2.0, the school selected four abilities as the teachers' training and school-based training objectives. The goal is to design interdisciplinary learning activities, innovate problem-solving methods, support students' creative learning and expression, and organize or participate in teaching and research activities.






 

Principal Yang has nearly 30 years of teaching and management experience. She pointed out that the future would be a society of artificial intelligence. Facing the challenges of AI, all teachers in the school should help students master knowledge that can deal with everything that happens in the future. All teachers must master the concepts of modern information education, the ability to retrieve, collect and sort out teaching materials, and use and integrate various teaching software and hardware to improve the education of various disciplines. Through the school-based compulsory AI course, teachers should guide students to understand the future and master basic concepts and skills of AI. Through the curriculum designed under the concept of PBL and STEAM, teachers should cultivate students' self-learning abilities.

She pointed out that information technology should not only be used as a tool to assist teaching. We should take information technology as a tool to promote students' self-learning, integrate it with the curriculum, and make use of the learning environment of independent exploration, multiple interactions, cooperative learning, and resource sharing provided by information technology. At the same time, the school fully mobilizes students' initiative and enthusiasm and improves students' innovative thinking and practical ability, cultivating innovative talents for the future society.


 

At the same time, the school established Academy for Teachers' Professional Development, used the online platform to manage teachers' self-learning information, formed process learning archives, and promoted teachers' development. At present, under the leadership of the school information management team, the teachers have started the learning information technology application.

 

 

VBS was founded with high standards. The school has advanced multimedia equipment and a perfect information-based teaching and learning environment. The school has complete network facilities, and the 5G signal fully covers the campus. Each teacher is given a MacBook, which can be displayed in each classroom at any time.
