On February 22, the flag-raising assembly in the first week of the second semester of 2020-2021 was held on the playground, and the school flag class undertook it. After the flag-raising assembly, Mr. Liu Xiaodong, the father of Liu Yingjie from 7E and the person in charge of Topwell Spring Development Limited (TSD), came to the school and shared a touching and moving story.

It turned out that during the winter vacation,  Liu Yingjie, Chen Zihan, Men Zhenpeng, Zhou Mingyuan, Feng Shikuan, students from 7E visited the factory of Liu Yingjie’s father. During the visit, Feng Shikuan found a label on which he could not read English. The English label was: Forest Freen. The students immediately searched on Baidu and finally determined that the word was printed incorrectly. The correct one should be Forest Green, which reduced the company’s losses by nearly 100,000 yuan.

To express his gratitude to the students and the school, Mr. Liu Xiaodong specially invited Principal Yang to present the aroma humidifiers provided by his company to the students.

The students demonstrated their outstanding academic ability, cooperation and communication skills, excellent English application ability, critical thinking, and inquiry spirit in social activities.

I want to say 'Good Job!' to 7E students. We can also call it 'Niu' in Chinese, which means 'Ox.' The students in Year 7 have reduced the company's losses by nearly 100,000 yuan through their carefulness.

In addition to the meaning of 'Good Job,' the animal ox is a symbol of hardworking and pioneering Chinese culture. Speaking of the spirit of the ox, we immediately think of silent dedication as the cow eats grass but gives milk. These ox virtues have formed the core of the ox spirit in Chinese culture. We, as Shenzhen people, all know the pioneer spirit, which represents the hardworking and enterprising virtues of the first generation of builders who built the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone!

The Pioneer ox Sculpture is located in front of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of CPC and is one of Shenzhen's symbols. Forty years ago, entrepreneurs in Shenzhen were like this pioneer ox, working hard and selflessly, and turned a poor border town into a modern international city. What the 'pioneer ox' represents is the ox spirit of Shenzhen.
