VBS Emergency Rescue Training was held at theatre on 4th December to improve staff's ability to deal with emergency. Hosted by FM106.2 hostress Ms. Lingling, all staff attended this training under the guidance by SRVF.
Golden four minutes rescue rule - irreversible damage would incur on brain cells four minutes after cardiac arrest began. If it was ten minutes, brain death could happen. The survival rate could be 90% and 60% if rescue was performed within one minute and four minutes respectively. Hence we ought to rescue against the clock when someone had cardiac arrest. The first responder had to perform chest press and defibrillation.
Trainers from SRVF delivered training, demonstration and operation for relevant rescue actions to take on as first responders. Teachers were active in the training to learn necessary skills and knowledge to handle emergency.
VBS has purchased two AEDs since the beginning of the semester. Trainers also gave a training on using AED. Teachers were eager to operate AED and complete trial rescue under the guidance of trainers.
VBS adopts multiple measures to ensure everyone's safety on campus. This training allows all staff to perform CPR, use AED and other methods to handle emergency hence is useful in improving the ability to safeguard the campus and ensuring the normal operation of school.
