VBS News Net: Around 100 Mathematics teachers from Longhua District took part in 'How to effectively guide interactions between teachers and students in practical sessions' -
An activity by the 5th shared community of Primary School Mathematics in Longhua District at theatre on 26th November to improve teachers' teaching skills from Longhua District and new model of teaching & research shared community.
Three teachers presented three distinctive lessons - 'Knowledge about matching' by Jiang Liqiu from Minzhi Primary School, 'Who goes first' by Lai Youfen from Xingzhi Experimental School and 'What is perimeter' by Ms. Annie Deng from Vanke Bilingual School.
Students from 3O, 3I and 5C worked in groups and thought carefully to experience the connection between Mathematics and life by research. During the interactions, they raised their hands for questions, ideas and personal thoughts with manners to gain recognitions from all teachers.
Teachers did self-reflection after their classes about the process from their lesson planning, preparation to implementation.
Head of Teaching Ms. Zhang Yanfeng from Longhua Experimental School gave feedback to each teacher with special comments on Ms. Annie Deng's lesson. She also offered constructive suggestions such as the focus on logical system of mathematical knowledge during lesson planning, the emphasis on keypoints and teaching objectives during implementation as well as the respect on students' cognition pattern during class to organise them, guide them to express their ideas via active communication.
Both Head of Teaching Ms. Long Qiongxia from Xingzhi School and Ms. Zhang Yanfeng spoke highly of VBS school culture, service, facilities and acknowledged VBS for organising this session.
VBS actively takes up social responsibility to offer quality service for teaching & research sessions in Longhua District to build the shared community. Led by the growth mentality, VBS strives to build a teaching mechanism and atmosphere full of passion, aspiration, wisdom and energy. It also conducts contrasting teaching on the same content sessions to allow teachers to learn different teaching styles across all subjects to improve their skills which builds foundation for students' thinking, creativity, teamwork and communication.
