VBS News Net: The first week Flag-raising assembly was held on 1st September and it was undertaken by 5C、5D.

Principal Yang gave an address at this new beginning after the flag-raising assembly. She welcomed new members of VBS community and sent her regards for the new semester before Mr. Lyu Qin, Chinese Chess World Champion and Deputy President of Chinese Chess Association presented 'Young Talent Training Academy for Chess in Guangdong Province'. This brought VBS Chess curriculum to greater heights.

Dear teachers and students,

Good morning. It's nice to have normal flag-raising assembly here. We can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine without wearing masks in school. This does not come easy, let's close our eyes and show our appreciation to those who make this possible in our hearts. 

We also welcome 336 new students and 67 new teachers into VBS family, so we have 1133 members. Indeed, we are truly a big family here.

We also have four birthday people - Ms. Wang Limei, Chen Qiujun from 2F, Li Sihan from 2F and Zhang Yunqi from 8E. Happy birthday to you!

I'm sure you have seen T-shirts that teachers are wearing. It is for them as well as for you - I have a growth mindset - I can always improve. I do not give up when I get frustrated; I learn from mistakes. I get inspired by successful people. I can learn anything that I want to. My diligence and promises make all things different. I like to challenge myself. 

I want to tell you, human brains can be improved just like muscles. The more you think, train and are not afraid of failure, you can learn anything. In VBS, we establish growth mindset - a mentality to believe that our IQ can be developed by consistent studies, hard work. Please remember, we are learning skills and knowledge at a glance, but we are learning to use the most incredible resource in human resources - the infinite power to connect billions of cells and their joints. 

Now everyone has to consider 'education', 'work', 'family', 'AI' in this era, everyone wants to master the skills to get a good job and live a good life. What is it? How do we get that? Now China is moving to its great rejuvenation, people are working hard for a prosperous life. One characteristics of a nation's asset is the skill of its people, learning to learn is the foundation of every skill. Learning to learn is learning to think, and use our brains. Teachers are working hard with you all.

We offer a variety of curriculum this semester, we also have lots of activities for you to relax. One of the good news is, everyone gets to enjoy the long overdue swimming lessons from this semester onwards. Of course, there will be exams. Sometimes your mood can swing a little bit. Don't be afraid, when you have those moments, learn to seek assistance from teachers, we are your friends and supporters.

In campus, there are many workers from many departments - cleaning, canteen, security and technicians. When you see them, please greet them and show your gratitude. When you get home, please also share your day in school with your parents and not to let them worry about you for not being present in school. 

This week, the school has arranged team-bonding, sailing, outdoor survival challenge activities for you. Please follow instructions from your officers, coaches and teachers to ensure your safety. Safety comes first before you can enjoy. 

Dear students, you will have a routine life of coming to school, having classes, activities, meals, noon breaks, after school. Please adjust your clock and study effectively. Last but not least, I wish every staff to work well and stay health. I wish students to make progress everyday and stay happy. Let's do our mental gymnasics.

New semester has begun, may VBS students work hard and realise their dreams to make the school proud.
