VBS organised PBL project launch ceremony

Facing the pollution on Earth and the unpredictable future, 

how are VBS Youth of the Future going to do  as a group of socially responsible individuals? 


VBS News Net: VBS organised PBL project launch ceremony 'Life with zero waste to make our world a better place' at theatre on 10th July to imbue students with environmentalism. Vanke Foundation presented 'Zero waste lifestyle campus' to VBS.


 

 

Deputy General Secretary of Vanke Foundation Ms. Xie Xiaohui, GM of Vanke Meisha Education and Chairperson of Vanke Education Development Foundation Ms. Tang Lu, Principal Yang, Ms. Mary Zheng and representatives from student body and teachers attended the ceremony at the theatre. It was also streamed live to parents and school staff.

 

As the ceremony began, VBS student journalists Peng Ganfeng and Qi Runge presented photos of waste in school. Yu Shuhan from 4C introduced her environmental conservation activities and called for actions from everyone else to safeguard our homeland.


 

 

 

Ms. Zheng, achieve the target of life with zero waste

Head of Development Centre Ms. Zheng made the speech,'PBL project 'Life with zero waste' aims to achieve the target by reducing waste production and researching on the recycling of waste in places such as schools and households. The project would be carried out upon the beginning of summer break as the social practice assignment. Students would need to actively research on the issue and make proposals before implementing solutions and reflections. Their research findings would be presented in September during the new semester. Students would be asked to treat it serious and pass the idea of environmental friendliness to others.

 

Mr. Wang Shi, let's focus on environmental conservation and make our world a better place

Chairperson of Vanke Foundation Mr. Wang Shi sent his message on a video,'It is our responsibility to make peace with nature in our daily life. Vanke Foundation aims to reduce waste disposal which makes our cooperation with Meisha Education significant via projects like this one. We have to act in school to influence the society. I send my regards to this PBL project and wish it success. Let's focus on environmental conservation and make our world a better place!'


Ms. Xie Xiaohui, Meisha Education is leading the trend in innovation again

Deputy General Secretary of Vanke Foundation Ms. Xie Xiaohui made the speech 'individual acts as a role model but a group of individual act as a power'. She introduced the work that Vanke Foundation had done in environmental conservation to achieve sustainable lifestyle and environment. She said,'The launch of project 'life with zero waste' indicates that Meisha Education is leading the trend in innovation again. Teachers and students are practising environmental conservation in an innovative approach to join the campaign of zero waste and bring the society to address this waste disposal issue by solving it. This is an innovative approach after Shenzhen has become the pilot city for zero waste in China. Vanke Foundation is willing to support VBS' project in its best way possible.'

During the ceremony, Ms. Xie presented environmental friendly bags made by three recycled plastic bottles, bilingual cartoon books edited by Vanke Foundation and footprint of snow leopard sample to VBS.

Deputy General Secretary of Vanke Foundation Ms. Xie Xiaohui, GM of Vanke Meisha Education and Chairperson of Vanke Education Development Foundation Ms. Tang Lu, Principal Yang, teacher representative Ms. He Xianji and student representative Yu Shuhan came on stage to press the launch button on LED screen to initiate the project. On behalf of Vanke Foundation, Ms. Xie also presented a board signifying VBS as a zero waste campus to Principal Yang.

 

 

 

 

Principal Yang, may our students become Chinese citizens who have the courage to create a better future

Principal Yang acknowledged Vanke Foundation for their assistance and guidance, 'People are influencing their own environment as they bring development and progress to the world. Based on the philosophy 'Let our children experience the future', VBS has been promoting environmental conservation to  allow students to experience the future lifestyle and to study and live in an future-oriented atmosphere. Every stakeholder in VBS is taking social responsibility. We hope the research of project 'Life with zero waste' could make VBS a model school to achieve zero waste by everyone's effort to have more people involved in environmentalism for the mankind. May our students become Chinese citizens who have the courage to create a better future.'

 

The launch ceremony ended with the poems and rhymes. This PBL is significant in its way to raise environmentalism awareness, develop low-carbon lifestyle, make our world better and realise 'Let our children experience the future' philosophy. This is also an important measure for VBS to implement 'Teach for the unknown, study for the future' as an innovative approach.
