VBS News Net: As the date of school commencement is settled, VBS has made a detailed contingency plan to ensure both staff and students are safe to return and improve the school's ability to deal with emergency situations when following the instructions asked by Guangdong Education Office against the coronavirus.
This dry run has been organised and conducted by VBS anti-coronavirus leading group. Principal Yang is the director of this dry run, Security Supervisor Mr Kane Zhang acts as the executive leader, other members include Head of Development Centre Ms Mary Zheng, Head of Adminstrative Centre Ms Chen Nuosi, Head of General Affairs Mr Lucas Lin, Deputy Head of Development Centre Ms Huang Yajuan, School Doctor Dr Li, Life Teacher Ms Yang Yanhua and Librarian Ms Judy Zeng.
In the brainstorming session, executive leader Mr Kane Zhang introduced the contingency plan in details. All attendees had the full picture of the contingency plan and details when offering reasonable suggestions for Mr Kane Zhang to modify.
At 11 a.m. of 17th April, the dry run officially began.
The dry run is carried out like this. The life teacher found out Pupil A's temperature is 37.6 degree Celsius which indicates a fever symptom after conducting temperature taking and hand disinfection exercise on students entering the classroom from the noon break. Hence the contingency plan is initiated. Life teachers, class teacher, school doctor and security officer will follow the procedures to report, test, isolate and investigate. The isolation room will be used and await comprehensive evaluation from Longhua CDC and Education Bureau. Led by Principal Yang, the task force will gather at the command centre for an emergency meeting to handle the situation.
Development Centre will focus on the mental health of students, Admission & External Affairs Centre will make reports when General Affairs will be in charge of disinfection, logistics and food service.
This dry run has specified the tasks and procedures needed to be done by different departments so that the virus can be contained to make sure the safe environment for the commencement of school.
