VBS News Net: Longhua District Hygiene & Health Bureau, Shenzhen published the notice on 29th March to commend the 2019 Longhua District tuberculosis prevention coltrol and outstanding units and individuals in the 2019 Longhua District tuberculosis prevention campaign. VBS school doctor Dr Li was awarded outstanding individual.

As the volunteer from Longhua District, Dr. Li initiated series of thematic activities 'tuberculosis prevention starts from me' at VBS in April 2019 to endorse the prevention campaigns promoted by Longhua District Center for Chronic Disease Control, Shenzhen.

Dr Li actively engaged with Head of Life Teacher Department Ms Huang and prepared notes for the tuberculosis prevention lecture for students to recognise the harms of tuberculosis. During the lecture, life teachers introduced origins, symptoms, prevention and treatment of tuberculosis whereas Dr Li answered questions asked by students. Dr Li proposed good personal habits to students to prevent tuberculosis - ventilate rooms twice or thrice a day, no spitting, cover your mouth and nose when coughing or snizzing when improving immunity via sports exercise. 

After the series, Dr Li distributed the prevention leaflets to students and drafted news articles to promote relevant prevention measures on school website. 

Requested by superior departments, Dr Li assisted in tuberculosis screening for new Primary 1 and Secondary 1 students conducted by People's Hospital of Longhua District, Shenzhen in October 2019 while notifying parents on their survey and tracked the results. 

Dr Li compiled the documents for prevention campaign and submitted them to the Longhua District Center for Chronic Disease Control, Shenzhen in November 2019 in the forms of record sheets, photos and videos. 

Teachers and students had a deeper understanding on tuberculosis prevention and having a conducive learning environment through the series organised by Dr Li. 

Based on notice, only four of school doctors have received the award. Dr Li received the honour with quality service and excellent work ethics.
