VBS News Net: 'Every necessity in life does not come easy, we shall remember the dedication of those who make our consumption on these items possible.’ Shenzhen proclaimed 8th November each year as Clear Your Plate Day to eradicate extravagance and waste as well as to promote economisation. On this day, VBS teachers also conducted a ‘Clear Your Plate’ campaign at the Chinese Dining Hall. 

The slogan for Clear Your Plate Day this year was “reduce for bodies and environment’. Filmed by waste sorting campaign ambassadors Wang Shi, the founder of Vanke and Dong Chao, famous TV host at SZMG, VBS played the public welfare advertisement, VBS played the public welfare advertisement  jointly made by Education Bureau, SZMG, Civilisation Office, Urban Management Bureau of Shenzhen. Flyers were also posted to remind everyone not to order extra food at restaurants and dining halls so that the kitchens won’t make excessive food, which reduced the amount of kitchen garbage. Teachers actively took part in the campaign and signed on the ‘Clear Your Plate’ banner.
