万双网讯  2024年9月23日上午8时，梅沙教育深圳万科双语学校2024-2025学年第一学期第4周升旗仪式因天气原因于教室内举行。本周升旗仪式由8E和8F班承担，杨妍茹、唐诗茵同学主持。

At 8 a.m. on September 23, 2024, the flag-raising ceremony for the 4th week of the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year at Meisha Education Shenzhen Vanke Bilingual School was held indoors due to weather conditions.This week’s flag-raising ceremony was undertaken by classes 8E and 8F, presided over by Yang Yanru and Tang Shiyin.

刚刚过去的周六是全民国防教育日，8E班张峻嘉和8F班王湘剀借全体师生在国旗下集结的契机，带领大家共同纪念这一重要日子。他们在讲话中回顾了国家历史上的挑战和苦难，突出了强大国防对于国家安全和人民幸福的重要性，呼吁同学们从日常生活的小事做起，树立爱国之心，立下报国之志，为祖国的明天做好准备。

This past Saturday was National Defense Education Day. Zhang Junjia from class 8E and Wang Xiangkai from class 8F took the opportunity of gathering all teachers and students under the national flag to collectively commemorate this important day.In their speeches, they reviewed the challenges and hardships faced in the country’s history, emphasized the importance of a strong national defense for national security and the well-being of the people, and urged their classmates to start with small actions in daily life to cultivate patriotism and set aspirations to serve the country, preparing for a brighter future for the motherland.

派驻第一书记刘晓娟在国旗下讲话中总结了中非合作论坛峰会的成果，讲述了中国对非洲发展的支持，并鼓励学生们树立远大理想，培养家国情怀和国际视野，为成为有担当的中国公民而努力学习。

During her speech under the national flag, the First Secretary Liu Xiaojuan summarized the achievements of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit, discussed China’s support for Africa’s development, and encouraged students to establish ambitious ideals.She emphasized the importance of cultivating a sense of national pride and an international perspective, urging them to study hard to become responsible Chinese citizens.

Dear teachers and students，

早上好！

Good morning！

今天，我们聚集在国旗下，共同迎接一个特别的日子——全民国防教育日。在这个庄严的时刻，我们想和大家谈谈国防教育的重要性，以及我们作为学生应该如何肩负起这份责任。

Today, we gather under the national flag to welcome a special day —— National Defense Education Day. At this solemn moment, we would like to talk about the importance of national defense education and how we students shoulder this responsibility.

2001年8月31日，第九届全国人大常委会第二十三次会议决定设立全民国防教育日，确定每年9月的第三个星期六为全民国防教育日。

On August 31, 2001, the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People’s Congress decided to establish the National Defense Education Day, and designated the third Saturday in September every year as the National Defense Education Day. 

何为“国防教育”？国防教育是国家为防备和抵抗侵略，制止武装颠覆，保卫国家主权、统一、领土完整和安全而进行的根本性、长期性的教育活动。

What is “national defense education”? National defense education is a fundamental and long-term educational activity carried out by a country to prevent and resist aggression, stop armed subversion, and defend national sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and security.

回顾历史，我们不难发现，一个没有强大国防的国家，往往难以抵御外来侵略，人民的生活也会陷入水深火热之中。

Looking back at history, it is not difficult to find that a country without strong national defense often finds it difficult to resist foreign aggression, and the lives of its people will also fall into dire straits.

从鸦片战争到抗日战争，中华民族经历了太多的苦难与屈辱。这些历史教训告诉我们，只有拥有强大的国防，才能保障国家的独立与人民的安宁。

From the Opium War to the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Chinese nation has experienced too much suffering and humiliation. These historical lessons tell us that only a strong national defense can guarantee the independence of the country and the peace of the people.

时至今日，我国的国防水平已达到国际先进行列，拥有了强大的军队力量、先进的武器装备和完善的国防工业体系，比如：歼20、东风41洲际弹道导弹，致力于维护国家主权、安全和发展利益，同时积极参与国际事务，为维护世界和平与稳定贡献力量。

To this day, our national defense level has reached the international advanced level, with a strong military force, advanced weapons and equipment, and a complete defense industrial system, such as the J-20 and Dongfeng-41 intercontinental ballistic missiles. It is committed to safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests while actively participating in international affairs and contributing to maintaining world peace and stability.

作为一名万小双，我们要致力于身体健康、人格健全、学力卓越，具有家国情怀和国际视野，敢于创造美好未来的中国公民。

As a VBSer, we will strive to become a citizen of China with good physical health, sound personality, excellent academic abilities, patriotism, international vision and the courage to create a better future!

From September 4 to 6 this year, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit was held in Beijing.On September 5, President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech titled “Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a Community with a Shared Future.”This summit serves as a platform for dialogue between China and African nations based on equality and mutual benefit. Established in 2000, its purpose is to foster equal consultation, enhance understanding, expand consensus, strengthen friendship, and promote cooperation.

非洲国家通过峰会了解和学习中国在现代化建设方面的经验和成果，从而更好地规划和发展自己的道路；也可以借助中国的力量，共同应对全球性挑战，比如气候变化、公共卫生等。

Through this summit, African countries can learn from China’s experiences and achievements in modernization, better planning their own developmental paths. Furthermore, they can leverage China’s support to collectively tackle global challenges such as climate change and public health.

孩子们，峰会的举办展示了中国对非洲发展的重视和支持，我们国家一直致力于推动非洲的经济发展和社会进步，通过提供资金、技术和管理经验等方面的支持，帮助非洲国家实现可持续发展。

Children, the summit demonstrates China’s commitment and support for African development. Our nation continuously strives to promote economic growth and social progress in Africa by providing funding, technology, and management expertise to assist African countries in achieving sustainable development.

从刚刚同学的演讲中我们知道，时至今日，我国的国防水平已达到国际先进行列，拥有了强大的军队力量、先进的武器装备和完善的国防工业体系。可中国作为世界上的国防强国，面对其他国家拒绝霸权，共筑命运共同体，维护世界和平与稳定，为推动全球治理体系的完善和发展做出了积极贡献。这恰恰彰显了我们中国的国际责任感，这才是真正的大国担当和共同发展格局，让我们为祖国点赞！
